Chapter 154: THE ADVENTURE ENDS

FIONA’S POV~

Slowly we moved through the long creepy stairs and we eventually got to a wide area of space with no other choice but to jump down.

Enzo jumped first, I handed him my phone and he set it on the floor before opening his arms to catch me.

“I don't think I can,” I said slowly, my voice croaking with anxiety.

“Don't be a chicken, jump Fiona!” he scolded, I sighed and positioned myself to jump, I leapt but alas I misstepped and fell on him and we both tumbled on the ground.

He laughed, “If this is what you want, you can at least say it”, I got up embarrassed but he pulled me back down, and turned me over.

The light was dim and insects chirped all over the moldy tunnels but I could see the twinkle in his eyes.

He blinked before smiling, his eyes roamed my chest as it beat out of place, he licked his lips, I looked down and I saw why.

In the moment of action, my right breast had slipped out of my bralette to reveal a portion of my breast and some parts of my perky nipples.

I gasped, I tried to slide from under him but he kept me in place and leaned into me.

“I could take you right now…” he started, in a sultry tone, the way and tone he used to say it made goosebumps rise and I couldn't hide my flushed cheeks.

I gasped again as he leaned in closer to my lips, I closed my eyes and parted my lips to welcome him.

We heard noises and then a door pried open, “shit!” he cursed, he sprang up from me and helped me up.

 I was stunned, was he about to kiss me?

I gathered myself together, he pulled me and our steps hastened.

“Turn the flashlight off, they have found the swan shelf, we need to hurry!” he exclaimed sharply.

He held my hand and didn't let go as we walked through the dark tunnels, soon we came across a door, it was opened and we walked in.

It was dimly lit, and there we saw the packaged drugs safely tucked away within cages.

Money, left in money counters and wildly banded in bags and bags, it seems that they left in a hurry.

“I think the taco shop was a front for Mr Queen and now they have been made, we need to get out of here” Enzo noted.

I nodded in response, it was getting more dangerous as the moments passed.

Soon after walking a distance, we came to another door, but we stopped halfway to open it.

We heard voices, Enzo and I looked at each other, I didn't recognise any of them, but with the way he clenched his jaw and then his fist against the door, I was certain he recognised one of them, or both.

We peered in through the partly opened door and we could see we had arrived at a laundromat.

I'd passed this laundromat a few blocks before I got to the taco shop, it seemed this was another front to launder money for Mr. Queen.

There was no one close by and the voices were somewhat distant, we entered the laundromat and hid out of sight, then slowly we advanced towards them.

“She’s in Tacoma Sophia, we can't hide from her anymore” the man started, we saw the woman pacing around before she banged her hand on one of the laundry machines.

“I'm tired of her, she’s so demanding and controlling since she left Papa” she mentioned.

“That’s Sophia, Liana’s daughter” Enzo started, then he clenched his jaw, “and that bastard beside her is an old friend” he finished.

This must be Sophia who made Ariana’s life a living hell, what the hell is she doing halfway around the world?

“I assume he is Mr queen?” I whispered back, and Enzo nodded.

“We need to get rid of her, you know why she’s here, she knows we have it” Mr Queen mentioned before shaking his head.

“I can't keep pretending to love her, Sophia, I don't” he added.

Sophia walked towards the safe in the corner and punched in the codes and I took note, I looked over at Enzo and it seemed he was too distracted with Mr. Queen to notice.

“I think they have the tape” I mentioned before diverting his gaze to the safe and he nodded.

Slowly we sneaked towards them as they continued, “You are going to kill her” Sophia declared, I gasped loudly and they both turned, “Who is there!” Mr. Queen yelled before pulling out his gun and pointing it towards us.

“Shit!” Enzo cursed before taking out his knives,   the knives!

He saved me earlier… Who is this man? A total mystery.

As they stealthily moved towards us, the door we came out from flew open, and Liana and her men came in.

“Mama!” Sophia exclaimed in fear, her mother smiled before walking to them.

“I woke up on our bed in Switzerland and you weren't there, and then I saw you getting on a plane to Mexico with my daughter!” she roared before her men raised their guns at Mr. Queen and Sophia.

Mr queen staggered backwards stylishly and I could tell he pressed a button beside the laundry machine.

“I thought we loved each other GiovanniGiovanni? But you are out here with my daughter, you stole my money and you decided to start a fun little business didnt you?” she continued.

“Mama, I…” a heavy slap landed across her face and she staggered backwards, “you! With your obsession to find your brother!” 

“Half brother! And I love him!” Sophia cried and I saw a look of disgust on her mother’s face.

“You disgust me!” she roared in anger.

“You are an abomination and I will wipe you from this earth!” her mother thundered.

There was a loud pop outside and soon some men rushed in.

Men with the same armband with the crown emblem.

“Look, Liana, we had a nice run okay? It's time for a clean break” Mr queen started.

“A clean break!” she exclaimed before pounding her hands on her head.

“No! This is where you die!” she roared before snatching the gun from one of her men and shooting at him.

He jumped out of the way before it hit him, and ended up piercing one of his soldiers behind.

The bullets sprayed in the air and one of them almost hit me. Enzo and I jumped away from our hiding spot and we were spotted.

“You!” Liana roared before pointing the gun at me.

In all the chaos, all I could think about was Ariana and the baby I'd never get to meet.

I closed my eyes ready to meet my maker, but then just as swiftly a bullet hit her gun and it bounced away from hers.

I'm saved but by who?     Enzo?

I turned but he wasn't beside me, I looked around in the chaos and I saw him fighting one of Liana’s men.

A man walked in, he was big and a much older man, and he looked familiar.

I've met him once before.

“Julius!” Enzo and I echoed.

I turned to him and he looked back, how and why exactly do we know the same people.

Liana’s men attacked him but he was able to fend them off with his quick defenses

 and soon he had hit Liana over the head and incapacitated her.

As mysteriously as he came he left with nothing but Liana on his shoulders.

The chaos was soon over, and when I turned to look for Enzo he was gone.

And so was the tape from the safe….

Two days later I returned home a failure.

I'm sorry Ariana….
