Chapter 64
Before I could speak, Kane had already responded.
He said to Tina, "I've never ignored her feelings. I respect and love her very much."
I nodded in agreement.
I was a bit worried that Tina might misunderstand Kane.
After all, Kane always seemed cold and distant to everyone.
But I knew very well how good Kane was to me.
Seeing how nervous I was, Tina laughed.
Her eyes curved like crescent moons hanging in the night sky, impossible to look away from.
She gently patted my head and said, "Sweet darling, your expression just now was so adorable. Were you worried I'd blame Kane?"
I felt a bit embarrassed, but I didn't want to lie, so I nodded obediently.
Tina pulled me into her arms and said with emotion, "If only you were my daughter. You're so sweet and thoughtful. I'm glad you became my daughter-in-law."
Then Tina lifted her head and looked at Kane with raised eyebrows. "I came here just to remind you that your father is a man who treats his loved ones well. I hope you can be like him, always staying loyal and patient with your partner."
Kane's face still showed a gentle and obedient expression.
Combined with the light-colored pajamas he was wearing, if I didn't know Kane, I would definitely think he was a very gentle and humble person.
Tina was very satisfied with Kane's obedience. She let go of me and took my hand again.
But this time, there was something extra in my hand.
I looked closely and saw it was an extremely beautiful bracelet with gemstones that sparkled.
Realizing how valuable this gift was, I quickly tried to wave it off.
But before I could refuse, I heard Tina say with a smile, "Take it. This is the Moretti Family heritage, passed from the previous matriarch to the next one she approves of."
"Does this mean you approve of me?"
But I was still a bit uneasy and turned to look at Kane.
Kane had a faint smile on his lips.
Clearly, he was very happy that Tina was giving me this bracelet.
Because of the special nature of this item, I couldn't refuse anymore and could only say solemnly to Tina, "I will fulfill my responsibilities as a wife."
Tina smiled happily.
She patted my head and said, "Oh, dear, don't worry. In our family, women are born to be cherished. You don't have to do anything, just be happy."
No one had ever said anything like this to me before, and no one had ever told me that "women are born to be cherished."
I was at a loss for a moment and could only turn to Kane for help again.
Kane spoke softly at this moment, "It's getting late, Mother. Perhaps we should all rest."
Hearing Kane say this, Tina suddenly slapped her forehead.
She looked at me, a bit embarrassed, and said with a smile, "Sonya, your arrival made me so happy that I lost track of time. You two rest well. I'll go back to my room. If you need anything, just let me know. I hope you'll be happy here."
With that, Tina gave me a gentle kiss, then turned and left the room.
I gently touched the cheek Tina had kissed, feeling a warm sweetness in my heart.
This was the best gift I'd received since meeting Kane.
Not because the bracelet was so valuable, but simply because it meant Tina approved of me as Kane's wife.
Kane and I lay back down on the bed.
I curled up in Kane's arms, looked at him, and asked carefully, "Can we come back often? I really like your mother and everyone else."
Kane looked down at me and held me tighter.
He nodded without hesitation.
"If you like it here, we can even come every day."
I knew Kane's work was very busy, but he never went back on what he promised.
Maybe like today, taking the helicopter back and forth every day.
This would be very tiring for Kane.
I quickly shook my head, put my hand on his chest, and said seriously, "I just want to come back with you to see Tina and Annie when you have enough free time. I don't want to interfere with your work."
Kane looked down at me and planted a deep kiss on my forehead.
His voice was a bit husky as he said, "As long as it makes you happy, nothing is more important than you."
I admit, I was now completely absorbed in these sweet words Kane was saying to me.
I remember when I first met Kane, I warned myself more than once not to believe anything Kane said to me.
Because I knew what kind of person Kane was.
But after spending time with him, I found that Kane was completely different from what I'd heard.
When facing me, he was considerate, gentle, and gentlemanly, possessing almost all the good qualities a man should have.
And he didn't seem to sleep with every woman like the rumors said.
Since I came to his side, he came back to sleep with me almost every day.
And I'd never smelled another woman's scent on him.
Thinking of this, I closed my eyes contentedly.
Listening to Kane's strong heartbeat, I fell asleep without realizing it.
In the last second before I fell asleep, I could still feel Kane's gaze fixed tightly on me.
The next morning, after we woke up, we had a very pleasant breakfast.
I thought we could stay at the farm a bit longer.
But right after we finished eating, Kane's phone rang.
He frowned and answered the call.
The voice on the other end was familiar - it was Bandel's.
Since Bandel was calling, it meant we should leave.
At least Kane should leave.
Sure enough, after hanging up, Kane wiped his mouth.
He looked at Tina in front of him.
Before he could speak, Tina already knew what he was going to say.
She looked at Kane gently and said, "Just come back to see us when you have time, but remember to treat Sonya well. She's the person closest to you."
Kane nodded solemnly. He took my hand.
After saying goodbye to everyone present, we left the farm.
On the plane, I stared reluctantly at the little house that had gradually become ant-sized.
Suddenly, Kane spoke beside me, "You really like it there. We can come back often."
I withdrew my gaze and smiled at Kane.
"I do like it there. It makes me feel more relaxed than ever before."
Seeing the smile in Kane's eyes, I changed the subject. "Was that Bandel who called you just now? Do you have work to do?"
