Chapter 124: Dark Book!
Dashell entered the room saying that nothing could be done because the symbol placed on Sophia's arm was the work of a sorcerer who practiced occult magic, and only that sorcerer could annul the symbol, Dashell's words fell like a bomb on Selene's head and Rose despaired:
"I can't lose my granddaughter. I'll do anything, I'll trade my life for hers. Save my little girl." Rose cries in anguish
"Drastic situations call for drastic measures, I'm going after Nix and maybe she can help us." Dashell disappears
Meanwhile, Selene finds a spell that would theoretically delay the effect of the original spell and she concentrates all her energy around it and says:
"Praecipio incantationem ut desinas in hoc corpore reflecti."
However, it didn't seem to have any effect and Selene tried to connect with Sophia's mind, trying to understand what had happened and if she could somehow reverse the situation of the little girl, who seemed even weaker with each passing minute. When the Witch/Werewolf searches Sophia's mind, she finds the day she was kidnapped, Kaillel holding her with his sharp claws, all the fear she felt, also realizing that Jamal and Anouk were there and even after handing over the diary and breaking the spell of her supposed ally, Kailel seriously injured Sophia, Anouk offered to help while Jamal ran to catch up with the evil werewolf, but what no one knew was that at the same time as Anouk was casting a healing spell saving Sophia, she was casting a curse:
"Sorry, Sophia! But you'll have to suffer just a little longer until your brother convinces you to stay with me. A little more than a month is all you have left to live, and if I haven't removed the spell by that time, you'll die." Anouk revealed with a smile on his face as Sophia woke up, Selene cried while still in a trance, she looked for a clock and found one on top of a commercial building that read 7 pm. And so she returned to normal, asking:
"What day was Sophia's kidnapping?"
"November 28th, if I'm not mistaken. Why?"
"Shit! Grandma Rose, we need to find another way to save Sophia."
"Why?"
According to the chronology of the spell, Sophia has only 18 hours to live, and It wasn't Nix who cursed Sophia with that symbol, but Anouk, who is dead."
"I'll call Jamal, he can't exempt himself now."
"Can talk!"
"Come to the Lycan castle immediately."
"Grandma, we've already talked about this, I'm not coming back anytime soon."
"Sophia has been cursed and is dying."
"What? I'm going to kill Nix." He nervously tries to turn off his cell phone, but Rose finishes his words:
"It wasn't Nix, but yes was Anouk."
"How she did it. And how to reverse the situation, Anouk is dead."
"Jamal, come soon."
In the meantime, Dashell arrives in the gloomy forest and breaks into Nix's house, who is surprised by his brother's attitude:
"It's very brave of you to break into my house. Get out of here!"
"No. Go with me to Castle Lycan to undo the spell you lay on Sophia." Dashell is incisive.
Nix, for his part, frowns as he walks up to his brother and says:
"I don't know what you're talking about and I'm not going anywhere." The atmosphere between the two becomes tense, Maeve, who was also in the house, just watches everything without lifting a finger. Then a cell phone rings, it's Nix's:
"What do you want? I'm busy."
"Nix, please! I need you, save my sister." It was Jamal desperate on his cell phone and hearing his lover's plea, Nix let his guard down and looked at Dashell:
"Take me to the girl." The two of them disappear and Maeve follows.
In Sophia's room, the witch comes face to face with Selene:
"What are you doing here?"
"They asked for my help and I came to take a look," Nix replies with an air of superiority.
"Let her through Selene, if the spell is occult magic, Nix should know how to reverse it." Jamal also arrives at the room.
"I don't trust her."
"And you're right not to, but at the moment what other choice do we have?" Dashell appeals to reason
Nix approaches Sophia and touches the unique symbol, making a revelation that Selene already knew:
"She's cursed and only Anouk herself could remove the spell."
"And you call yourself so powerful. I thought your magic was unshakable."
"Every magic has its limitations."
"I want to know what we're going to do. We can't let Sophia die." Rose stood beside her granddaughter, holding her hand.
And when the silence seemed deafening, a voice echoed in her ears in an ironic tone:
"You're such idiots," Maeve speaks up and everyone stares at her
"You probably don't even know that there's a book that can annul the magic symbol."
"What book is that?" Nix asks
"You think you're so clever and shrewd you don't know that your mentor, just as she created a book that contains good spells, also created a book that contains evil spells?"
"Who are you talking about?" Selene stepped forward
"Freah, who else would it be?"
"She would never do that. So sweet it made me sick, so nice it made me want to vomit, always do good no matter to whom." Nix retorts
"We all have a dark side, and Freah was no different, she just oppressed her dark side, but it always accompanied her, after all, she was the great priestess chosen by Gaia the goddess of the earth.
"That doesn't make sense."
"It doesn't have to make sense, just accept the fact that Freah wasn't the sweet person you believed her to be. I could go on all night, but if you really want to save the girl, you have to find the Dark Book."
While Selene remained unresponsive, Jamal asked where we could find this Dark Book, Maeve revealed that it was in the possession of the King of the werewolves.
"Lyall, did he know about all this?"
"Ask him."
Selene immediately leaves the room to go and find Lyall:
"Where is the Dark Book?"
