Chapter 50 Cat Fight
ELIJAH
The anger with which I walked into that house could be felt for miles. I had no time to play around.
“Donald! Come out here, you bastard!” I marched deeper into the house, the guards trying to stop me.
“You can’t just barge in here. The Alpha isn’t around. You have to come back.” I didn’t want to but I just had to punch that guy out of the way.
“Donald! I know you’re here. I can smell you. Come out here you bastard.”
I walked around the house, following his scent. The maids huddled in one corner and I looked at them. One of them slowly pointed toward the closet and I followed her direction.
The coward was hiding there. I reached in and grabbed him by the hair, throwing him on the floor.
“Were you hiding from me, Donald?” I snarled in disgust.
He was shaking but he had been the one to report me to his cult of little wizards and they attacked my pack. He was a coward on his own but when there were people around him, he seemed to forget that he was nothing.
“No, I wasn’t hiding. I forgot something in the closet and I went to get it and I got stuck. Forgive me.” He stuttered all through, which only added to my anger.
“That’s the problem. I can’t forgive you. Because of your stupidity, one of my packs was attacked and do you want to know the number of deaths?”
He shook his head.
“Well, too bad. Because I want to tell you. As of the last report I received, only twenty people were alive. Not two thousand, not two hundred, twenty. All because of you and your mouth so who’s going to take responsibility for that? You or your little cult?”
“I’m so sorry that happened. I mean, I didn’t ask them to do anything. Blame them, they were the ones who decided to attack your pack. I warned them not to but they didn’t listen. You have to believe me.”
I let him go and he fell to the ground, quickly distancing himself from me.
“Do you really think I’m stupid? I know what you said to them. You told them I kidnapped your daughter and invaded your pack, didn’t you? But you failed to tell them that you imprisoned me and threatened to behead me!”
“That was because I didn’t know who you were and I saw you in my pack with my daughter. Also, I was told you were sleeping with her and since that’s punishable by law, I jailed you. If I knew you were the King, I wouldn’t have done such a thing.”
With the way he was shaking, you would think he was truly scared and sorry for what he did but it was all a lie. He was evil and bitter and as soon as I walked out of here, he was going to be back to some mischievous nonsense.
“But you see, I can only blame them but I can’t beat them. You, I can blame and beat at the same time so you are going to have to answer for them. So tell me why, Donald?”
I needed to get information from him and I knew he always folded under pressure like wet paper.
“You didn’t just lie to them, you lied to the council also and I had to answer to them and explain the truth because you felt the need to lie.”
I crouched in front of him.
“I’m so sorry. It’s not my fault. They asked me to do it because they knew it would bring problems for you. I didn’t want to do it but I had to. They threatened to kill me.”
I laughed.
“And so you went ahead to do it.” He nodded. “That’s okay but you see, that means I get to kill you.”
“No! No, please. I’ll do anything you want. Just don’t hurt me please. I’ll do what you want.”
If only Adriana could see her wimp of a father right now, she would laugh.
He acted so tough like he was something but he was actually nothing. He was just a wimp who liked to pick on others who were weaker than him.
“You can’t do what I want. You’re like a stubborn mule, you never listen. Besides, you’ve already done what you wanted so how could you possibly help me? Forget it, you’re useless and I’ll deal with you. But a parting message. If any of my packs get invaded or if anything happens to any member of my kingdom, just know I’m coming for your head. I don’t care if you’re responsible or not.”
He quickly nodded and I stood up, leaving him there. His guards just stood there, watching the entire drama unfold.
All of them were just as weak as him.
“Let’s go,” I told Hazel and we were almost out of the house when we heard voices.
“What is wrong with you?! Have you lost it?”
It was coming from upstairs. It sounded like that toad Landon.
“Yes, I’ve lost it. And it’s all your fault. Tell me, you like her, don’t you? I’m not enough for you, is that it?”
There was silence and I could hear footsteps moving around.
“I can’t deal with you right now. What exactly do you want from me? You asked me to leave her and I did and I stayed with you despite your frustration and now you’re saying I love her? What the hell do you want from me?”
“Oh so now I’m frustrating you? Why do you even bother to remain with me? Why not chase her down to that Lycan prison and ask her to marry you if you love her so damn much?”
That toad liked Adriana? He better stay away. I won’t be responsible for what I would do to him if he came close to her.
“Maybe I will because when I was with her she never gave me cause to shout like a mad man. Why do you always have to bring her into everything?”
Someone slapped someone and I was sure she slapped him.
“You bastard, I heard you saying her name in your sleep last night. You think I don’t hear you moaning her name when we have sex?”
Hazel and I looked at each other with wide eyes.
