Chapter 76 The escape
Benjamin's POV
We headed out out of the cave.
I have Trinity in my arms.
I have one hand on her head to keep her securely to my chest.
"It looks clear boss." Dante says.
"Yeah, looks can be deceiving. Keep your eyes open, head on a swivel." I say.
As we run down the path we have mapped out everything is way too quiet.
"Zak, what's going on around the palace?"
"Your men is making a ruckus south side and southwest as planned. They are bombing the dungeons now." He said breathlessly.
"How about that woman, the one you said would help?" I ask as I'm running.
"She will be the one handling that. That stupid bitch just wants revenge." He laughs.
"That's where she's gonna mess up." I said, matter of factly.
"I don't like this. It's too quiet." Jermaine stated "Yeah, me neither."
We actually get almost the entire way where we literally see the SUV.
"I think we're going to make it boss." Dante says as a shot was fired,two, three shots.
"Damn, guns out cover me and the queen". I scream. "Don't shift unless necessary. Shoot to kill. I need atleast two warriors behind me at all times. Your Queen can't walk, therefore I can't shoot. Cover us completely."
They came out of nowhere half shifted and the other half with guns.
They took three shots and dropped three of my men. FUCK!!!
"My king" Trinity cries "Ssshhhh love." I say as I rub her head.
"Boss, Fuck. I've been hit!" Dante screams.
"Come on man. We have just a couple more feet left. Push it." I try and coax him as another two bullets took out the two men behind me, guarding Trinity and I. FUCK!!!
"Two more men down. We need cover. Can anyone move into spot. Fast. Please." I scream.
"Hold on love. Don't let go. Keep your arms wrapped tightly around my neck. No matter what." I tell her sternly.
We're here at the SUVs. We made it. The drivers already have the vehicles running and waiting. Ready to go.
Just as I reach for the door handle, a bullet hits my back.
"Fuck!!!! Let's go. Everyone in. Now. We're leaving." I say as I open the door and get in with Trinity still in my arms.
Dante jumps in the passenger seat. A few more men make it as well.
"Let's Go!" I scream as we peel off right before a group of Lycans get to us.
"Full throttle, Bernard. Take us underground. We need to get off these roads ASAP." I order.
"Yes Boss. We will be there shortly." He says back to me.
FUCK! Fuck! Fuck! That totally didn't go as planned.
Thank Fuck we have an underground safe house we can go incase of an emergency. I think this is considered as one.
I do have men there at all times. The place is stocked up with everything we will need, including medical supplies.
"Ned, things didn't go as planned. We have what's left of our crew heading in now. Have warriors ready to help our wounded. Dante has been shot. He's unconscious at the moment. Also, make sure Sean is ready with supplies at hand. I have been shot as well." I explain to him.
"Hey love". I say as I gasp for air. "Are you ok. Did you get hit?" I ask Trinity.
"My King. Your hurt. SSHHH. Save your breath. Shhhh." She says as she rubs my cheek with her small hand.
"I'm alright love. It's ok. We will be underground within a few minutes." I say trying to soothe her.
"Dante. How bad." I ask. No answer.
"Dante Damn it. Answer me!!!" I scream.
"Boss, he's out cold." Bernard says.
"Shit"
I hit a button on a remote and a gate lifts up from the ground. Our SUVs drive in and I instantly close our gate.
I finally take a deep breath.
"Bernard, did you notice anyone following us at all?" I ask.
"No boss, there was definitely no one around." He said positively.
Damn. Atleast something went right.
Bernard stops the vehicle. The other two stops behind us.
Some of my warriors come out and help the wounded in.
I get out of the SUV, Trinity still in tow.
"My king, I can walk. You shouldn't be carrying me, your hurt." She says to me in a soft and quiet voice.
"I got you. Let's get inside."
We get inside and I sit down on the sofa, with Trinity still on my lap.
"My King, where were you shot?" Sean, our doctor asks me.
"My back". I say as I'm getting dizzier.
"My king, hey". Trinity says to me.
"King, we're going to get you to your room. We have to get the bullet out." Sean says as everything goes dark.
