Chapter 183 Finally!

Chapter 183 Finally!

Trixie’s POV

The king’s quarters were unusually quiet considering the chaos happening miles away.
Soft lighting warmed the massive sitting room while thick rugs covered the dark stone floors. Toys were scattered everywhere from earlier in the day. Wooden blocks, small stuffed wolves, toy warriors, and a tiny overturned riding horse that Kael had abandoned earlier.
Right now though. The only chaos came from two very energetic boys. Cassian and Atlas were in the middle of the floor. Running. Laughing. And very clearly not behaving like normal children.
A wooden toy wolf suddenly lifted off the ground and floated through the air.
Atlas burst out laughing. “Wook! Wook Ca!” He bounced up and down on his tiny feet.
Cassian clapped his hands and pointed. “Ma it spwin!”
The toy began spinning in circles mid-air.
Atlas doubled over laughing. “Dats funny!”
Cassian waved his hand dramatically. Then three blocks slid across the floor and stacked themselves into a crooked tower.
Atlas gasped like it was the most impressive thing in the world. “YOU DID IT!”
Cassian puffed his little chest out proudly. "Of corse I did.”
Across the room I sat curled sideways on the couch watching them with a smile tugging at my lips.
"They’re perfect." Leigha said to me warmly. Her voice was soft and full of affection.
"Look at them, our pups are magnificent." She said as she continued to watch them as she kept coming forward.
I watched Atlas try to lift a stuffed bear with his mind only for it to flop sideways instead.
Cassian laughed so hard he fell over.
I chuckled quietly.
“They’re a handful.” I said to Leigha as I shook my head at my boys.
"They’re brilliant," Leigha corrected.
Cassian stood up and suddenly the stuffed bear lifted halfway off the ground. Atlas gasped. "YOU DID IT!” Then it bonked him in the face. Both boys collapsed laughing.
I shook my head. "Yeah, brilliant little troublemakers.”
Leigha hummed happily inside my mind.
"I could watch them forever." She whispered softly as she laid her head on her paws.
Across the room, Caden and Coban sat at the long table with their laptops open. Both of them were leaning forward watching the live feeds.
Clarence’s compound.
Caden shook his head slowly. "Well"
On the screen another explosion erupted. Coban snorted. “That one stepped on a big one.”
On screen, smoke billowed through the compound yard while flashing lights strobed violently through the darkness. One of Clarence’s men ran straight into another plate.
BOOM.
Caden winced slightly. “Oof. Damn. They are having a very bad day."
Coban leaned back in his chair with a grin “They’re learning.”
Another explosion echoed through the speakers.
Caden chuckled. “Slow learners.”
I watched them for a moment before my attention shifted toward Leigha again. Leigha was, restless. Her energy felt different. Stronger. Warmer. A slow pulse rolled through my chest.
"Tonight," she said quietly.
I blinked.
“Tonight?” Her voice held certainty. "Yes."
A deep instinct rolled through my body.
"It’s time."
I sat up a little straighter. "For what?”
Leigha’s answer came with a slow, satisfied warmth.
Drake And Conan." My eyebrows lifted. Oh. Oh. Well then. I glanced over at my mates. Both of them still watching the explosions. Coban was grinning at the screen.
“That one just ran in a circle and hit another plate.” Caden laughed under his breath.
“Panic makes people stupid.”
I stood slowly. They both looked over. Caden tilted his head.
“What’s wrong?” I folded my arms with a small smile. "Leigha says tonight’s the night.”
Both men blinked. Coban frowned.
“What, it's the night for what?”
I shrugged casually. "She wants to mate.” I said nonchalantly.
The room went quiet for about half a second.
Then Coban’s eyebrows shot up. "With who?”
I smiled sweetly. “Drake and Conan.”
Caden leaned back slowly in his chair.
“Well.” Coban closed his laptop with a loud snap.
“That explains a lot.” Caden followed suit, shutting his screen.
“Boys.” Cassian and Atlas looked over.
“Yes daddy?” Coban stood already reaching out for the boys. "Bedtime.”
Both boys groaned loudly. "Awwww!”
Atlas pointed at the floating toy wolf. "But we’re playing!” He stomped his little feet and puffed out his lip.
Caden walked over and scooped Atlas up easily.
“You can play tomorrow.”
Cassian climbed onto Coban’s arm dramatically.
“But we’re not tired.”
Coban raised an eyebrow. “You will be.”
Within minutes the boys were tucked into their beds down the hall. Cassian yawned mid-sentence. Atlas was asleep before the blanket even settled.
Caden chuckled softly. "They crash fast.”
Back in the sitting room the atmosphere had shifted.
Leigha stirred again. "Now." She whispered.
Coban rolled his shoulders slowly.
“You feel that too?”
Caden nodded. “Yeah.”
The air between us thickened with familiar power. Coban’s voice dropped slightly. “Ready?”
I smiled. “Always.”
Leigha surged forward. My body heated instantly as the shift began. Bones reshaped. Muscles rolled beneath skin. The familiar pull of transformation rushed through me like wildfire.
Beside me both of my mates shifted as well. Clothes fell away as power flooded the room. Three forms growing larger. Stronger. Fur and muscle replacing skin. Where we had stood moments ago now stood three powerful beasts.
Leigha stretched proudly, her silver-white fur gleaming under the room’s warm lighting. Across from her stood two towering Lycans. Drake. And Conan. Their eyes glowed with recognition. Coban’s deep rumbling voice echoed in their minds.
"Well boys" Caden chuckled. "Looks like tonight belongs to Leigha."
Leigha stepped forward confidently, tail swaying. "Finally," she said.
Drake lowered his massive head slightly with amusement. "About time." Conan huffed. "We thought you’d never ask."
