Chapter 145 MAKING THEIR PRESENCE KNOWN

Chapter 145 MAKING THEIR PRESENCE KNOWN

Caden's POV

The war room is dark. Emergency lights already flickered on across the entire room. Shadows stretching across a long table. No one has moved much since the power went out moments ago. Conversations died down with the lights.
Elliott and Brandi both freeze. Neither of them took another step.
HICCUP The sound cuts sharp through the stillness. The lights flicker back on. Every chandelier ignites at once. Screens come to life. Power flooded the room like it was never gone.
No one speaks. Every head turns to Trixie. She freezes. Her eyes are blown wide. She groans softly. "Oh my god...I'm soooo sorry." She presses a hand to her stomach. Her breath is shallow. Her eyes glaze over.
"That was Leigha." she says quickly. The room stays completely still. "She just told me what happened." she giggles and puts one of her hands over her mouth.
Coban's entire body goes rigid beneath her.
"She said it wasn't me. So everyone don't think that it was. It wasn't Leigha either." Trixie continues. Her voice trembling now with AWE more than fear.
"The babies did it." The words don't land all at once. "They turned the lights off earlier." she says quietly. "and they just turned them back on."
Silence crashes down heavier than the darkness ever did.
"They're already really powerful." Trixie whispers. "Leigha says their energy spiked. They didn't like something and they fixed it. She said they are going to rule just like their daddies." Trixie giggles.
For one suspended heartbeat, the war room stops existing.
Twin boys. Twin heirs. Future kings.
Coban moves first. He grips Trixie's face and kisses her hard, raw, and unrestrained. Full of something fierce and disbelieving. When he pulls back, I don't hesitate. I lean in and kiss her as well. Our kiss is slower, but just as deep. My hand is firm at her back like I need the contact to ground myself.
The room erupts. Cheers explode from every direction. Whistles and laughter is all that's heard.
"Well damn!" Mark says loudly. "They're not even born yet and already controlling the palace." he laughs and shakes his head.
"Future Kings said lights on." Lucian adds as he laughs.
"Someone warn the electricians." Kevan says as he can't stop laughing.
Trixie laughs. She looks overwhelmed, but she's happy. She is glowing. She has both hands resting protectively over her stomach now.
"Brunch. Everything you have. Drinks too. Hurry, my heirs are hungry and already irritated." I mind-link the kitchen to make my babies happy.
When I tell everyone I have brunch on the way, and I mind linked the kitchen, the laughter doubles.
"If you to piss them off." mark adds. "we're all screwed."
Kevan smirks. "They already know how to make a point."
Trixie grins. "Leigha says if either of you upset them, they'll make Mommy and daddy's pay." she giggles some more.
"I feel judged." Coban mutters.
That's when Elliott clears his throat. Brandi squeezes his hand. "Were going to takeoff now. We have a lot to pack and we should be leaving shortly." he nods and glances his back at us.
Coban steps forward and clasps Elliott's forearm. "We'll celebrate properly later." Brandi hugs Trixie tightly, whispering excited congratulations before they turn and head for the doors.
Once they are gone, Coban takes his seat with Trixie back on his lap. I sit beside them with my hand on my girls thigh.
"Franscisco, Manuel. Get someone to cover your spots and come join us in the war room, please." I mind-link them both.
The doors open minutes later. Franscisco and Manuel steps in.
Mark leans back and smirks. "Oh, filling the empty alpha chairs." he chuckles.
"Only if you would except one." I shot back.
"I'll do it." he says immediately. "but I wanna throne and permission to boss people around."
Franscisco and Manuel stand right inside the doorway. I motion for them to take a seat at the table. They sit down and all eyes go to them.
I don't beat around the bush.
"Two Alpha positions are still open." I say plainly. "We need leaders we trust that's loyal to the crown." everyone is quiet.
Franscisco and Manuel both swallows hard. They know what's next.
I look at Franscisco first. "Your our first choice." He stiffens. "No, I'm a warrior." he says sternly. "Your a leader." Coban says calmly. "I don't want power." Franscisco shakes his head. "Neither did any good alpha." I reply. He takes a deep breath, then exhales. "That means leaving the palace." he said as he still shaking his head.
I look him in his eyes. "You wouldn't be leaving it. You'd be extending it." I say as my eyes stay on him. Silence stretches. No one moves.
"Hey Franscisco, I wouldn't piss off Caden's and Coban's boys." Mark says, and everyone laughs.
Fanscisco has a look of confusion on his face.
"I'll explain later. So, will you take it?" I gave him a pleading look.
Then he nods once. "If the Kings believe I can do it."
I turn to Manuel.
He scoffs. "Absolutely not."
Mark chuckles. "That's what he said."
Trixie speaks gently. "Manuel, your people would be safe. Your family, your friends, anyone close to you, they can go with you."
Manuel rubs his face. "Damn it" he sighs.
"Fine, but I'm blaming all of you."
Laughter fills the room once again.
Three new Alphas chosen.
Two future Kings making their presence known.
