Chapter 135 Kings In

Chapter 135 Kings In

Coban's POV

The first explosion rattles the night like a warning shot from the Earth itself. I don't think, I move.
"Trixie." I say already crossing the space between us. She barely has time to turn before she's in my arms, my body angled around hers on instinct. I feel her heart racing against my chest, but she doesn't fight me. She never does. She trusts me, she always has. Damn I love her!!!
Caden is beside us in a second.
Mark and Kevan are already issuing orders. Their voices are sharp and controlled as warriors flood towards the southern border.
"South perimeter-move." Mark shouts.
Benjamin steps forward fast. "It's a ruse." Benjamin says. "Explain." I say as I arch a brow at him.
"This is Clarence. They are trying to blow then attack in 3/4 of the opposite direction. Keep in mind he knows I know this. So he could switch it up. But I doubt it." Benjamin's eyes are locked on the tree line. His nostrils are flaring. "They want us pulled thin." he continued.
Another low boom rolls through the ground. It's distant but deliberate.
I don't hesitate. "Redirect, full Lycan forced to the north. Send one team to the south. South be slow and cautious." Caden nods once. Marks already relaying it. Kevan moves to Benjamins side coordinating with his men.
I look down at Trixie. Her eyes are steady despite all this chaos. She's my girl. She's brave as hell.
"Inside love." I tell her softly. "Now, please." she nods. "I know, babe." she rolls her eyes, but still moves.
The women are moved immediately. Sabrina, Tina, Roxie, Trinity and Trixie, all of them escorted into the pack house. We secure them into the room assigned to Trixie and me. Darien and Lucian take position outside the door without a word, weapons out, and their bodies angled to kill. Nothing will get past them.
Another explosion tears through the night. This one is closer though. "North" someone yells over Comm.
The northern border erupts into roars, snarls, and the wet crack of bone on bone. Clarence's team hits hard and fast. Atleast 30 of them, already shifted, reckless with confidence. And behind them the stench of salt and rot. It's the Dark Sea Pack.
"Confirm visual." I demand.
Marks voice comes back tight but steady. "Confirmed. Shit loads of wolves. Dark Sea Pack as well." he said. "Let's get these bastards." Caden growls beside me.
Our warriors at the north shift in unison. They're bones snapping, bodies expanding, the air filling with the sound of power unleashed.
Lycans crash into wolves like a wall of iron. It's brutal and fast, very overwhelming. Claws are raking down backs as two of ours go down briefly as blood streaks their spines. But they are back up in seconds, rage fueling them.
"No fatalities." comes the update. "They're breaking."
The south isn't quiet. Not even close. A horn sounds close to us. I turn "They're splitting their force." 50 of them surge from the tree line aiming straight at us. Benjamin wasn't meant to win here. He was meant to be killed. He was their target.
"KINGS IN!" I say.
Caden doesn't even answer. He shifts mid run. Mark and Kevan follow. Benjamin's men fall in all around us and we meet the enemy head on. The fight is chaos.
Claws tear through flesh. Teeth snap inches away from throats. I take one wolf down hard, crushing its skull against the ground. Another leaps, Caden rips it out of the air. Mark roars as he barrels through two at once. Kevan moves with lethal precision, snapping necks, and ripping tendons.
Benjamin fights like a man that knows what's at stake.
They push towards the house, but they don't get close. Darien and Lucian intercept the first of them, clean and brutally. Blood sprays across stone as they hold the line at the door. They never move an inch from their post.
Inside the women are safe.
When the last wolf falls, the night is wrecked, the ground is torn. Bodies are scattered and blood is splattered everywhere.
I shift back, breathing hard. I turned towards the pack house immediately.
"Trixie." I call.
The door opened just enough for me to see that she's safe. I exhale for the very first time since the explosion.
Benjamin joins me moments later with blood on his hands and fury still burning in his eyes.
"It was Clarence." he says flatly. "Him and the dark sea pack."
I nod. "They were trying to take you out." I chuckle. "And destabilize the region." he adds. "They thought tonight would leave me exposed." He sighed.
"They miscalculated." I said.
Caden steps up beside me. "This wasn't a probe. This was an execution attempt."
Benjamin's jaw tightens. "Then it's war." he spits out. "No" I corrected him calmly. "It was their war."
I looked back at the house, at the door Darien and Lucian still guard without rest.
"They don't get another chance."
