Chapter 14: A shocking Revelation

Aurelia pov

“Stop threatening me! I am not going to die and I am not some weakling that you can just threaten with past incident and expect her to begin to shake in fear because that won’t work on me.” I said to him and walked past him as I had a smile on my face even though I was a bit nervous and didn’t know what to say or do.

I walked as fast as my leg could take me just so I could finally leave this bondage of a place as he didn't seem to even make a move of causing after me and that made me a bit calm as I was happy he didn't at all.

I was soon out of the palace building and was surprised to see everyone going back and forth like they were so busy and then I recalled Esther and the other maids delaying their arrival and that clearly was because they were so choked up with work.

What grand occasion was about to take place that was actually making them do this? I wasn't going to just stand there and wait for them to tell me and so I pulled one of them to my side and muttered to her.

“What is going on and why all this excessive work?“ I asked and even though she was shocked that I was actually speaking to her I could also see that she was nervous and didn't want to say anything to me.

“I was told to keep my mouth shut and not say anything to you,” she muttered and before I could even drag her or persuade her to me she had already run off, I looked around, and most of them were looking at me weirdly and most of them giggled.

“Why are you out under this scorching sun?“ I heard Alpha Dorian from behind me which made me tense up almost immediately and I slowly turned around and didn't waste time bowing to him in respect as he smiled and hugged me, it felt weird, the new excessive attention on me felt weird not after all what I had to pass through and yet here I am.

“You don't have to worry about me for I am absolutely fine, and I also know how to take good care of myself so just be rest assured.” I said to him and he smiled before looking around.

“I know you must be wondering what's going on and that's why you came down?” he asked and I nodded while hoping he won't be angry at me for wanting to know everything.

“ I actually wanted it to be a surprise but I don't think it can stay that way since you are a very curious kind of person,” he said and held me close to him by my shoulder.

“Its a ball which would be happening tomorrow and it is going to be a huge one.”he said to me and I immediately didn't like the idea at all.

“Why do you want to hold a ball? Do you have any special guest.” I said even though I knew I was the one…i just wasn't liking it and didn't see it as a good idea at all.

“Yes, I am having a guest and that person is you…i want the world to know who you are.” he said and I felt my breath skip, I didn't want the world to know anything…if it was possible I would prefer you just let it be, those were the words I felt like saying out but just couldn't do it.

“Why do you need to show me to the world?“ I asked very quietly,

“Because you are mine and I just want the whole world to know that.” he muttered and I had to fake up a smile like I was happy but I wasn't happy at all instead it frightened me and I knew talking about it wouldn't be good at all.

“Don't you think it would be much more better if we kept this between us for the main time?” I asked and he stopped on his track almost immediately.

“And why would you even say something like that? Is it because you think your former mate would try to find you?” he asked and even though I was scared I still nodded my head positively to his words.

“Yes,you want the whole world to know and that's like you telling the world I exist when I plan on not existing at all,” I said to him and he turned me so we would be staring into each other's eyes.

“Look at me….” he said and I did as told as he stared at me like he was searching for something in my eyes and was unable to find it.

“Do you really think I am a bit threatened by whoever your mate is…for all I care, he can't do anything to me.” he said and I immediately faked a wide smile like I believed even though I didn't believe a my thing he says to me yet, all men and mostly alphas were not to be trusted so easily.

“I just hope the words of me being here doesn't get to his ears because I won't like it at all.” I said to him and he nodded to my words and hugged me again before we continued the work,

“I told you from the start, I am here and more than ready to protect you so there is nothing for you to be scared of, i won't let anything happen to you.” he said and I hated the word, an assurance I just wasn't ready to believe in.

We soon got to a different session in the palace and it was all filled with busy tailors clearly designing our dresses and attires for the ball when I noticed something.

“It's a mask ball?” I muttered and he nodded, this is bad! This is even much more worse than I thought.
