Chapter 19
Master Linnaeus was angry and he didn't keep it in. He had an angry face which couldn't remain uncovered. Everyone who saw Master Linnaeus could tell that he was truly angry.
Marcus continued to gaze at Master Linnaeus. This was the only person Marcus feared and respected and due to this cause, Marcus could not talk back or do anything which would anger Master Linnaeus further.
"Calm down, Master Linnaeus…" Marcus began to say. "I have an explanation to make and I am sure that this explanation is going to solve everything. You are only threatening me because you don't know the full story. The narrative won't be the same if you heard the whole version of the story."
Master Linnaeus began to laugh crazily. In an instant, he stopped and gazed at Marcus seriously. This whole thing looked like a set-up. Marcus didn't know what to do.
"Really? If there was really a full version of the story, why didn't you tell me instantly? Why did you keep it at first?" Master Linnaeus asked in anger. His voice was loud and clear.
But as usual, Marcus humbled himself and continued to ask Master Linnaeus some other questions. Most of those questions were centered on asking for permission.
"I agree, Master Linnaeus," Marcus began. "I absolutely concur but even still, I want to ask for permission to tell you the full story. You should recognize the fact that I am humbling myself as the Alpha of this pack and on this basis, the permission should be granted."
Master Linnaeus looked carefully at Marcus. He smiled and began to talk.
"You are taking this to a different level, Marcus…" Master Linnaeus began. "I understand the fact that you are an Alpha and you are the leader of this pack. I also understand that you should be respected. However, I want to bring your attention to something. Are you listening?"
"Yes, I am…" Marcus replied. He was gazing at Master Linnaeus.
"Very well…" Master Linnaeus complimented. "Actually, I hope you know that you are the one who granted me express permission to address you the way I liked based on the fact that I was your teacher when you were young. Now, are you turning back on that now? Are you meaning that you ain't supporting that again. Let me know!"
"You are taking this the wrong way…" Marcus said slowly.
"How?" Master Linnaeus asked carefully.
"Thank you!" Marcus began. "First of all, I never and will never have you call me by the term 'Alpha' forcefully…"
"Wait!" Master Linnaeus interrupted. "Don't get this twisted! I can always begin to call you using the term 'Alpha'. The reason is not because I am respecting you, I am only respecting that title you have. I hope you know that I would never address you publicly the way I address you privately. Both are different and I am going to separate them. If you ain't alright with that, have me know and I would change.
"Nah!" Marcus said slowly. "It's alright! I love it that way."
"You sure about that?" Master Linnaeus asked carefully. "I wouldn't want to do what you don't love."
"Yes, I am sure, Master Linnaeus," Marcus replied. "I guess we are cool now, right?"
Master Linnaeus smiled.
"Yes, we are!" Master Linnaeus replied. His smile was still fixed beautifully on his face.
Both of them kept quiet for some time. Their seats felt uncomfortable and they both felt like standing up to argue and get everything right once and for all.
"Master Linnaeus…" Marcus called in a low tone. He was looking thinking about something which he felt he had to share to fulfill all righteousness.
"Yes…" Master Linnaeus replied. "Why are you calling my name?"
"I wanted to tell you something very important…" Marcus said slowly.
"Go on! You don't need to call me severally before you ask a question. I can listen to questions using my ears and answer such questions using my mouth. You don't need to calm me too severally."
"Okay…" Marcus began. "Actually, Rose died from the injury while we were fighting and lately, we went on to bury her…"
Master Linnaeus was shocked. His mouth was open agape and he became uncontrollable. As he made this first statement, everyone could hear his voice shake in fear. He was literally trembling and everyone could testify.
"What did you just say? Is Rose really dead?" Master Linnaeus asked slowly. Marcus could tell that this words of his were heavy and it was coming from the deepest part of his heart. Master Linnaeus could have an heart attack right now if care was not taken.
"Calm down…" Marcus cautioned. "You should give yourself high blood pressure because of just this. I am here with you and not crying and that should be enough to let you know that a solution had been later found. Do you think I will be able to have a discussion with you if my Luna was truly dead?
As Marcus finished saying this, Master Linnaeus began to get less worried. Marcus's last statement was reassuring.
"Now, I am glad…" Master Linnaeus said slowly. "Actually, you scared me before. I'm glad that Rose is fine. There's no other problem, is there?"
"There is…" Marcus intercepted. "Rose is truly alive but there is another problem tied towards her living."
Now, Master Linnaeus began to look worried again. He gazed at Marcus slowly and urged him to tell him what was wrong.
"Go on! I hope it's nothing serious?" Master Linnaeus said slowly. He didn't expect a reply to his latter question. His main focus was for Marcus to go ahead and tell him whatever was wrong.
Marcus sighed.
"Actually, we were about burying the dead Rose when she finally woke up. I thought it was a resurrection until she began to talk…" Marcus was saying seriously. Master Linnaeus was listening attentively. "I asked Rose some questions but she wasn't able to give me the answers I desire. After investigating further, I got to know that she seems to have lost her memory!"
Master Linnaeus looked on. His facial expression was blank.
