Jonas felt a jolt of electricity pass from Genni’s back to his chest. He then felt a physical pull toward her, it felt like they had become magnetised to each other. Not a second after that jolt, Jonas open his eyes to find her was no longer in the yard by the pack house. He was in a forest somewhere, not the Empire Forest for that had more sunlight streaming through the canopy. This forest was almost dark, the canopy was so thick.
Then he heard it, he smelt and what he saw next made him shout out. They were in the middle of a battlefield. Jonas could see werewolves laying on the ground, dead. He could hear the howls of the surviving werewolves, and he could see blood. It was everywhere, wherever he turned he saw it. He tried to get Genni to move, unfortunately, it was the same situation he was dealing with back in the yard. Jonas could see Vampire’s and the Faye, united together in their fight for dominance. Surrounding the battle Jonas could see Mage, their hands out while they chanted some spell. Jonas could not see whose side they were fighting for and he could feel an uneasiness spread through his body. Genni was still standing, in the same position she was standing in the yard and there was still no sign of her moving. Jonas started panicking, he had never had this feeling before. He always knew what to do. He didn’t understand how he was seeing this. Whatever this was, it was coming from the goddess. Did it show the future? Was he joined with Genni because he touched her? Frustrated and not able to find the answers to his questions he could feel Jax trying to push forward. Jonas had to try harder than he ever had to keep Jax back. He didn’t know where they were and that made him uneasy, plus Jax was so pissed off he didn’t trust his wolf to be anything other than a wild animal, which of course he was. Still standing in the middle of a battle scene, Jonas could see some of the wolves properly now and found that the wolves doing most of the attacking were from his pack. Not recognising some of the of the others Jonas realised that these wolf’s were from different packs. Does this mean that Genni had succeeded in uniting enough wolf packs to defend help defend against the Vampires?
Jonas groan out loud, he didn’t understand and he wished Genni would snap out of the trance she was in and help in some way. As Jonas was thinking this he could see a strange light up ahead deep witching the forest. The light started to glow brighter and brighter until it was painful to look at and to his utter astonishment he saw a women emerge and head straight for him.
The battle that was raging around Jonas and Genni seemed to fade out the closer the women got. Jonas waited, not being able to move and very aware that he couldn’t protect Genni if she needed it. When the woman stood no more than two feet away Jonas could see her clearly and understood that he was in the presence of the Goddess Selene, Genni’s mother. He couldn’t even bow his head in respect but somehow he knew it didn’t matter to her. Although the Goddess did nod gently to him. Jonas’s heart was hammering within him and he knew that Jax had been rendered speechless to be with her presence. He waited to find out why he was here, why they were both here. The Goddess Selene slowly looked around surveying the carnage around them. Then, raising her arms above her head so she could touch palms she lowered them quickly and Jonas gasped as the forest, the wolves, Faye and Vampire disappeared. He seemed to be standing in a sort of bubble of light. It was very bright though it didn’t hurt his eyes and he could still see the Goddess very clearly.
‘Jonas, Jax. I am sorry if this has alarmed you but I ask that you not be afraid. I needed to talk to you directly and this was the only way. Genevieve will have no memory of this encounter. I know you must have a question, but I need to tell you something before this link breaks. You know the reason I had to send Genevieve’ Jonas nodded. ‘It has come to my attention that the Faye may be swayed to fight with the Vampires. Both are immortals, although they can be killed, it is extremely difficult to do so. You must try to get the Faye to stand with you. Without the unity of the werewolves, Mage and Faye I’m afraid that the battle will be lost and My children will become extinct in this realm. I cannot allow this to happen as the evil will then outweigh the good’. Jonas could feel himself frowning at the last part, so the Goddess explained. ‘When the other Deities could walk in this realm there became a distinct imbalance of good and evil. By this, I mean that the Faye was always been prone to their experimentation and manipulation of the earth around them and started trying to make a creature that would be soldiers for them, something to protect themselves from the Mages and wolves that had the strength to kill them. Unfortunately, this particular experiment allows them to tip the balance slightly in their favour. After a few centuries The Vampire, as they were called, learned how to escape the bonds that kept them tethered to the Faye. Ultimately leading the queen to ask for a conclave where they asked for help. Although we had the power to strike them from the realm completely the Faye asked that they be allowed to exist with the understanding that there would be creatures that would have the ability to curb them. It was at this time that the Grand Mage and myself created the first werewolves. As I was the goddess of the moon I decided that my children would be in the image of the wolf, a proud and noble creature. The Grand Mage decided that a human should be part of it as Wolves cannot talk. Together we combined our power and the werewolf was born. As you know, it is your own story. Over the centuries it became apparent to me that I needed to have one of my werewolves have the ability to control and dominate other wolves. This came at a time when our deities were forced to retreat to the other realm. I could not in good conscience leave my children with the constant threat of the vampire. As you know over time one bloodline became stronger than all the others, your bloodline. And as such I must lay the burden of supporting Genevieve in the unrest that is to come. What I have shown you here today is a premonition of sorts, I needed you to see what could and would happen if the vampire succeed in swaying the Faye to their side. The Faye are responsible for the creation of the vampire and although they distanced themselves from their creation a millennium ago. The Faye are proud creatures and will never admit any wrongdoing or any mistake that they have made. They will just sit by and let others deal with it. I fear that the Faye, sensing an opportunity could once again stand with the Vampire. As a sort of power grab. And so it falls to Genevieve and you. I know you will stand by Genevieve as I know the love you have for her and indeed the love she has for you. Just know that there may come a time when Love will not be enough. Sacrifices may need to be made and I need to know from you now if you understand what I am saying and can do as I ask’.
Jonas was stunned into silence for a few seconds. He had never known about the Faye being responsible for the abomination that is the Vampire. And he had never known that Mage had been so involved with the creation of his species. Finding his voice Jonas answered the Goddess's question ‘I understand all that you have said today and I now realise that the Mage are essential to our very existence. I just don’t know if I could make the sacrifices you would need. Smiling at him now the Goddess Selene came closer to him and cupped his cheek, Jonas could feel the hand like ice against his skin. ‘You are a good man Jonas Quint and I know that the wolf, Jax that you carry within you is good and true. For now, that is enough. With that, her image started to fade and he realised that Genni and himself were the only ones there. The second later Jonas became aware of people shouting people crying and someone talking directly to him. ‘Jonas, it’s Mom, can you hear me, son? Jonas?’ Genni blinked and Julia gasped and started waving her hand in front of her face, Genni’s eyes followed the movement, crying out in relief, Julia started to say that Genni was coming round when Jonas blinked, making Rosemary gasp and mirroring the doctor, Jonas’s eyes followed the movement. Both women said at the same time HE/SHE IS COMING ROUND!
