***Trix POV***
I carried on, confessing my secret had lessened the tightness I always had around my heart.
''I had never had a birthday party, like my other siblings. It was a complete waste of time, according to my father. He was not about to waste any provisions on a filthy human. The day of my eighth birthday came and went like any other day. It's been the same every year since''.
I took both of Luna's hands in mine now and looked at her pleadingly, ''So you see Luna, you are mistaken. I don't have a wolf, I have never had a wolf'' I paused, taking in a much-needed deep breath. I searched Luna Genni's eyes for any hint of anger. I waited for a few seconds, waiting to see the judgement in her eyes. But it never came. Luna Genni let go of one of my hands. She raised the released hand so she could cup my face, and laid a soft kiss on my forehead.
***Genni POV***
Sapphire was raging, she shouted out and tried desperately to take control. I knew what she wanted to do. Unfortunately, maybe fortunate she couldn't carry out her promise of retribution for those who had hurt the sweet girl sitting next to us.
I quickly went into my mind and tried to calm the great wolf. But Sapphire didn't want to be calm, she wanted to punch something, to rip and tear and howl out her frustration and anger.
''Sapphire, soul mate. Calm yourself. We need to focus on Trix, not revenge''. I spoke firmly, which always helped calm her. I could hear her huff out an angry breath, but she finally calmed enough that I could focus all my attention on Trixie.
I was at a loss as to why Trix thought she didn't have a wolf. My heart went out to her now as I recalled our discussion. The level of abuse Trix had suffered, and at such an early age, made my blood boil. I felt the same as Sapphire, of course, I did. But us getting angry would not help Trix in any way.
I closed my eyes for a split second, I was getting a headache. Never a good sign.
I stood and walked into the small kitchen, pouring myself a glass of juice. I asked Trix if she would like one, but got no answer. slightly perplexed, I walked back into the living area. Trix was still here, thank goodness. Well, her body was still here, her mind, on the other hand, was somewhere far away. I choose not to rouse her from her reverie. I sat and waited.
***Trix POV***
I knew I felt lighter, my confession to Luna Genni was the hardest thing I had ever done. Going back to the locked part of my mind was something I had sworn I would never do. That part of my life was over. The next chapter had begun, I was excited and felt so honoured to watch this precious babe grow. To be part of it, of the Alpha's lives. It was more than I ever dreamed of.
As I looked at my sleeping charge, I felt my mind melt away. It took me to a place I had never been before. I was standing in an unknown forest. I was standing in a small clearing. The smell of the moss under my feet, the sound of the bird song, and the scurrying of little feet under the protection of the huge canopy of leaves overhead were almost overwhelming.
I looked around me in awe, this place was magnificent. So peaceful. I closed my eyes and just listened to the sounds around me. I could feel the tension leave my shoulders. It was like all the negative energy was being forced into the ground, it was being dispersed and nullified.
My eyes popped open, everything was so clear and bright here. I gazed down toward the moss-covered floor of the forest. Frowning, blinked. Blinked again, then passed out.
I came to, laying on a comfy bed. My bed. My new bed. The new bed, in my new rooms in the pack house. I shot up into a sitting position. I was just about to get out of bed when a softly spoken voice told me to stay where I was.
I was shocked to see Luna Genni sitting in a low chair in the corner of the bedroom. She had been there a while, as she had a slightly rumpled look about her.
I went to speak, but could only croak out a sound that didn't sound like any language I knew. Blushing to the roots of my hair, I looked toward my bedside table in the hope of finding some water there. disappointed at finding none, I went to leave the bed again. But again, I was told to stay where I was.
Alpha Jonas walked into my bedroom holding a glass of water. He smiled at me and held it out so I could take it from him. I did so shyly.
I drank the glass in one gulp, my mouth was so dry and my throat burned. I heard the gurgle of the baby, looking around, but seeing nothing Luna Genni finally spoke.
''Evie is with her grandparents in the other room'' she said this with a serene smile on her lips. Alpha was still standing a little ways from my bed. I watch Luna raise from the chair, stretch out her aching muscles, and walk over to me. Sitting next to me on the edge of my bed.
I was confused. My head started to spin, and I was gently lowered back down until my head touched my pillow. Luna could see confusion and worry in my eyes. But the more she smiled at me, the more I began to relax. ''Get some sleep'' Luna said softly, ''there is much to talk about, but when you wake, okay?''. I nodded my head, which was feeling a lot larger and heavier than before. I could feel my eyes closing, it was so much effort to keep them open. I blinked once, twice, maybe three times. Then my eyes stayed closed as I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
***Genni POV***
I watched as Trix walked over to Evis's crib. Trix stopped right by it and stared down at our sleeping angel. I watched her back, I could see Trix swaying slightly, like a gentle breeze blowing through the trees.
I didn't want to intrude on her thoughts. She had spoken so much about it. My heart ached for her. My blood boiled at the thought of the abuse she had suffered. Sapphire and I had already agreed we needed to meet with Trix's Mother. There was a lot that needed to be said.
Seeing Trix faint I rushed to her side. I linked to Jonas, telling him I needed him. I swear he arrived only a few seconds later. he scanned the room, locking eyes with me I saw his panic flash across them ''It's not me Jonas, It's Trix''.
Jonas had already spotted her and was rushing over. I quickly explained what had happened. I asked Jonas to carry Trix back to her room. he did so, at once.
Right now, though. I needed to be here for Trix. She was about to receive her wolf. A wolf she didn't know she had. I had already conversed with the she-wolf. She was so excited to meet Trixie. And shocked that Trix hadn't realised she was a full Werewolf.
''Jonas, my love'' I called to my mate. He was in the adjoining room. My heart swelled with love when I heard him tell Evie ''Mommy wants us, shall we go and see how we can help her''?
I was smiling before he entered the room. When he saw my smile, he gave me a lop-sided grin that made my pulse speed up, and my inner core clench. ''What do you need, my love'' he whispered, looking at the sleeping form on the bed.
''Could you take Evie home? She needs to be in her proper bed. The small crib is great to bring with us, so we can put her down. I just dislike having to use it for so long''.
Jonas stood to attention like a soldier ''Say no more, your wish is My command'', and he gave me a cheeky salute. Laughing lightly at his antics, I swatted his upper arm. His muscled arms were semi-relaxed at the moment, but as he held our daughter at the moment, I could feel the swell of his bicep under my fingers as I playfully smacked him.
I knew my eyes had darkened, I could feel the pleasurable tension starting to build. Looking into his eyes, I could see his pupils had widened with the same desire. I stood on my tip toes and whispered in his ear, as I pulled away his lips captured mine. Even though the kiss had been brief, it held a promise.
Pulling back from me, Jonas winked, turned on his heel and walked out of the small apartment.
I sat back down in the low chair. There was no way I was going to leave Trix. Not with what was about to happen.
