Chapter 18 We Are On Our Way.
Lily's pov.
When Alex knocked on the door, man did it kill whatever confidence I had built to walk towards a naked creed, I mean he had a towel on.. but what laid beneath…
She had a whole bag full of stuff for me; leggings, shorts, jeans, t-shirts and tank tops, really pretty dresses. Anything and everything you’d ever need. I was so grateful for her at this moment, I couldn’t thank her enough.
“This is awesome Alex, I really didn’t expect you to give me so much stuff! I’m forever grateful for you.” I smile at Alexandra.
“Don’t sweat! It’s really not a problem, I don’t even wear any of this stuff anyways, Creed has always spoiled me and I have a never ending closet. Anything I gave her I don’t expect it back! I don’t know if you noticed but there’s some body wash, shampoo, conditioner and some razors in the bottom, if you need anything else let me know!” Alex seems genuinely happy to help a girl out.
‘I like her ,Lily. She's so kind, a genuine soul.’ Sapphire's sweet voice speaks through my mind, I hum my agreement in my head.
Creed finally comes out of his closet, fully dressed now. He’s wearing jeans and a tight fitting long sleeve shirt, hugging his muscles just right. He comes over and ruffles Alexandra’s hair which pisses her off. I can’t help but laugh at their antics, I never had a sibling growing up so I don’t know what it’s like to have a sibling bond.
“Alex brought me lots of clothes so I’m gonna change and we should probably say bye to Jason and Ryan before leaving, we need to hurry, we’re losing time quickly.” I say before standing up and ruffling through the bag Alex gave me, I pull out some leggings and a tight tank top, I’ll just have to keep the bra I’m wearing on and go commando until I can buy some new underwear.
I look at creed and give him a smile before walking into the bathroom, once I get inside the bathroom, I start stripping out of the clothes I slept in. I make quick work of getting changed before stepping back into Creed's bedroom.
“Alex, it was so nice to meet you, I’m hoping I’ll see you again soon. Creed, we really need to leave now, let’s go talk to Jason and Ryan.” I look at Creed and he nods before pulling Alex into a hug.
“I’ll message when I can, try not to worry about me too much, I’m strong.” You can hear creeds humour but it does nothing to wipe the huge frown on Alexandra’s face.
“Just go on guys, I need a moment and then I’m heading back to my room.. obviously I’m gonna worry about you! You’re my big brother, my only family! I love you stupid! Just don’t die okay?” You can hear her voice crack by the end of her little speech. I almost want to cry at how emotional she is getting over this.
“I love you too Alex. I’ll message you and keep you updated whenever I can, we’ll be going now so don’t sulk around here too long, okay?” Creed says gently but also with authority. Alex nods her head at him and sits down on Creed's bed, Creed comes towards me and grabs my hand, we start walking towards the door when he whispers in my ear, “don’t worry too much about her, okay? She’ll be fine, we’ll be fine, yeah?” Creed smiles, always the positive thinker.
“Yeah.” I say and smile right back at him. Before we leave the room I take a deep breath and disguise myself as Chloe again.
Creeds pov.
When we walked down the halls people were watching us, Lily held her head high and kept her shoulders back, walking with grace and elegance even if we’re about to go off to basically our death. I ignored the stares but still nodded and greeted my tribe, the occasional woman would stare too long causing Lily to glare at them. I would just chuckle. kind of liking the jealousy.
I pushed my office door open wide, strolling inside with Lily in tow behind me, Ryan and Jason are already here pacing around my office.
“Can you quit that please.” I grumble, suddenly annoyed. One of my pet peeves. I hate when people pace.
“Sorry, kind of a habit.” Jason chuckles nervously, but he stops and sits down bouncing his one leg up and down instead. I roll my eyes and sit down in my office chair.
“So, down to business, we need to go to Lily's old home to retrieve something very valuable, important, it’s a prized possession, no money can buy this. When we arrive there, Lily is gonna open a portal to her childhood home so we can take a look around undetected. From there we don’t know, we will see what happens, when the time comes.” I sigh. “We’re just here to let you know we’re leaving and you have a lot of paperwork to do.” I chuckle before opening a drawer to my desk and slapping a huge stack of papers onto my desk. Jason groans in absolute horror at the stack of paperwork I just dropped onto his plate. Ryan though has other things he’s curious about.
“Portal? She’s going to open a portal? Even the strongest warlocks can’t open portals long enough for more than one person to go through..” he says hesitantly.
“The thing we need to go retrieve is my talisman, it helps me harness my powers, I can do incredible things without losing control. It’s why I need it. With it I’ll be powerful enough to open a portal for me and creed.” Lily speaks confidently.
Ryan’s eyes widen slightly but he nods at her, actually acknowledging her words.
“That’s interesting… so you must be like part witch then? To have a talisman that works you need to be a witch.. but you clearly are a female dragon so you must be part witch. That’s very fascinating, I’ve always read about supernatural species. Never have there been any hybrids.” Ryan’s eyes are twinkling with amusement just thinking about it.
“Yes I am a hybrid, actually my Ma let me know about this the day I found out who I am. It’s not something new to me but I guess it is pretty cool.. enough of the chit chat though. I’m sorry but we really need to get going, I need to find my mother.” Lily says, sounding urgent. I nod my head at my best friends and they walk out of my office, leaving me and Lily alone.
“Shall we head out?” I ask her.
“Yes, let’s go! I can’t wait any longer; the more time that goes by the more this feeling I have gets worse..” Lily visually cringes while saying that. I order one of the guards to bring a vehicle around for us, preferably one with tinted windows that's not recognizable to outsiders.
We were patiently waiting for our vehicle when it finally pulled up, you can see Lily picking at her finger nails nervously.
“It’s going to be okay, we’ll find her.” I say confidently.
“I don’t know creed, I have a very bad feeling about this.. we have no idea what we are getting ourselves into.” Lily tells me. I take a minute or process my thoughts, I don’t want to get us into a bad situation but helping Lily find her mother is important to her, I would never take that away from her so we must do this.
“I know it’s scary, the world is a cold, cruel place. But we need to do this, for your mother, for you.” I give her shoulder a little squeeze and she digs her face into my chest.
