Chapter 141 Noah

Chapter 141 Noah
Noah's P.O.V.

I will not let myself go back to how I was when I was little. I have worked too hard. I look at the man who I have known almost my entire life and wonder how we never knew he was a rat. I can see it clearly now. When I was a kid, he would always ask me to do things that he knew I couldn't do, just so he could laugh at me. I didn't think anything about it because I thought he was like that with all the kids.

"Don't you have anything to say, dummy?" he asks.

"Nope," I reply. I'm not going to let him get to me. Dakota taught me a lot about what to do in uncomfortable situations. I know I need to keep them talking and not give them what they want. Dakota will be here soon. I'm sure of it.

"Do you know why we took you?" The other man asks.

"No." I look between the two men. What do they hope to gain by kidnapping me?

"I told you he's a moron. Dakota makes him think that he's smart by patting him on the head, but he's nothing more than a lap dog. Maybe we should bring out our other guest so we can show him what we're going to do to him. What do you say, Noah? Are you ready for a little show and tell?" The snake asks as he stands and smacks the back of my head.

"No, I'm good," I answer. Who else do they have here? The other man opens a door to the side, and I look around at my surroundings. We're in one of the Kondrati warehouses. I've only been here once when Grandpa Chrissy took us around to show us everything he owned. The man comes back, pulling a crying young woman with him. She looks to be my age, with shoulder-length curly brown hair and frightened blue eyes.

"Please let me go," she begs them.

"Who is she?" I ask the man I know.

"We saw her walking on the street on the way here and thought we'd pick her up to use as a demonstration. I find fear is more effective if I show the person what's going to happen." I look at the woman and want to reassure her, but I don't want to give her false hope.

"Leave her out of this. She has nothing to do with the family or anything else." I tell him. He pulls a gun out of his waistband and taps it against his leg.

"You're right. She doesn't, but you do. You're not even part of the family, yet you live in the compound as though you own the place. What gives you the right?" He hits me in the head. Dakota told me that people who rely on weapons often don't know how to fight. I believe that is true with him because his hits barely hurt.

"What do you hope to gain by taking me?" I ask him. I glance at the woman, and she's staring at me. I can't let them hurt her. She just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"I'm going to kill you all one at a time until there's no one left. With everything going on, nobody will even consider that I'm involved. Everyone is so stupid, but you're the dumbest of them all." He walks over, grabs the woman by the hair, and holds up the gun.

"Let her go." I shift in the chair, and it's not bolted down. I'm only going to get one shot at this, and I'll be putting myself at risk, but if I can save the woman, it will be worth it. He throws his head back and laughs.

"What is a dummy like you going to do if I don't?" While he and the other man laugh, I stand, jump, and land hard on the wooden chair, which makes it break under my weight. I'm a large man, not as big as Xavier but bigger than the two assholes here. The ropes fall off my wrists and feet while they watch.

"I said let her go." I'm not dumb, and I'm not weak. They're about to learn that just because I'm quiet, I have trained with Dakota and know how to defend myself. The other man runs behind me, and as soon as he gets close enough, I elbow him in the nose hard. He falls to the ground, holding his face.

"What are you going to do now, Uncle Yegor?"
