Chapter 75 — Wedding Day
Luna's POV:
It feels like it's been months since I’ve had a normal life with my friends and future family and now I am eagerly awaiting the moment they decide if my training will continue here in Purgatory or if Angel can continue my training back home. Angel suddenly appears in the small room with a happy smile.
“Good news!” She says happily as I stand from my chair.
“The council has agreed that you have gone above and beyond what they expected you to do in your time here and they are going to allow me to train you at home from now on. They are also thinking of extending an offer to take a seat among them here in the future.” She replies and I am stunned into silence.
“Why?” I finally manage to ask.
“You are a remarkable being Luna and I feel that you would benefit the council greatly. Maybe even change a few things that are long overdue along the way.” She replies.
“I will help you through all of this of course if you accept when the time comes.” She continues.
I smile softly at her and she steps towards me and grabs my hand.
“Now let's get you home. Don’t want to be late for your own wedding.” She says jokingly and I laugh.
Angel quickly whisks us away and the next thing I know I am standing inside the bride's room inside Swinton Park Castle. My dress was hanging neatly against a full-length mirror, and a large vanity was set up off to the side. I hear a soft knock at the door and when I turn around I see Kali standing there. Kali and I rush to one another and embrace.
"I thought I would never get to see you again!" Kali exclaims as she begins crying.
"I have missed everyone so much." I reply as tears stream from my eyes as well.
"I know my brother will be happy to know you are here and getting ready. He has been a nervous wreck since you left with mom." Kali says releasing me just as the hairdresser and makeup artist walk into the room.
"You are going to look absolutely beautiful walking down that aisle." Kali says as the two women begin setting up.
The two women usher me to the chair in front of the vanity and begin working with my hair and makeup. Kali excuses herself only to return when it's finally time for me to put on my wedding dress. A photographer has been in and out while I was getting ready and then takes a few more pictures of me after I am in my dress. Once everything is set and ready to go I am placed in front of two large wooden doors. The song Tatum and I chose began to play and the doors slowly began to open. There standing at the altar was Tatum smiling the brightest smile I had ever seen. I slowly begin the walk down the aisle and towards Tatum.
Tatum's POV:
Luna is walking slowly down the aisle towards me and I feel my heart swell with emotion as I catch her scent in the air. It feels like a lifetime every time she's away from me and I can't wait to have her next to me at the altar. My mother explained to me that because time works differently in purgatory when Luna is there our bond suffers the test of time and that is why I feel as if I haven't seen her in days or weeks when she is there. It makes sense but I still don’t like the thought of her being in that place. I am overwhelmed with emotions and I can feel tears prick my eyes.
Luna's POV:
I see tears in Tatum's eyes and as I reach the altar I feel a tear roll down my cheek. I hand my bouquet off to Kali and Tatum takes my hands in his and squeezes them lightly. I look up into his eyes and feel my heart flutter and my body burn with wanting to be closer to him. The pastor clears his throat and begins with the ceremony. Tatum and I exchange rings as we say our vows then Tatum steps closer to me. So close that our bodies are almost pressed together. Tatum looks into my eyes as the words you may now kiss the bride leaves the pastor's mouth.
Tatum puts an arm around me and kisses me deeply. Once he breaks the kiss the preacher announces us as Mr. and Mrs. then has everyone gather in the eating hall while the photographer takes more photos of Tatum and I together. Tatum held onto my hand tightly the rest of the day and entire evening only releasing me so we could eat and cut the cake. After talking with everyone and sending them off with goodbyes and thanks Tatum turns to me.
"Are you ready to go home princess?" He asks, taking my hand.
“I am and I have good news!” I reply with a nod, grabbing his hand and blinking us back home.
Once we've changed Tatum takes me in his arms and kisses me.
“So what's this good news?” He asked me.
“I get to finish my training here with your mom. I no longer have to go back to purgatory and the council may be offering me a seat later on.” I replied.
“I don’t know if I like that Idea.” Tatum says in a sour tone.
“I don't have to accept it and it's all up in the air anyways.” I reply and Tatum seems satisfied with my answer.
"So where should we go for the honeymoon?" Tatum asks as a mischievous grin spreads across his face.
"Wherever you want to." I reply.
"Hmm, I'll go anywhere as long as I get to go with you, my wife." Tatum replies.
Before I have a chance to reply, Tatum kisses me passionately. I close my eyes as I take in his scent, leaning into his arms.
"I think I know the perfect place." I reply when Tatum breaks our kiss.
Tatum smiles that devilish smile I love so much, and I know that the rest of my life will be perfect as long as I have him beside me.
