Chapter 24: You are just like your father.

“ Olivia.” Lucia calls out, to rest on the door frame.

“ I know you are angry, and certainly you have the right to be angry.” She said, moving towards Maurine.

“ My dear, stop crying.” She remarks as she wipes Maurine's tears out.

“ Let's do the packing together.” She offers.

Maurine nods in acknowledgement.

“ How I wish I finished telling you the story last night.” She said, trying to start a conversation with her.

“ Yeah, you stopped at when you were narrating my mum's ordeal to my dad, but can you please skip the Ordeals and tell me the reason she was being chased, because I know starving scenes will be much and that will make me mad.” She said painfully.

Lucia kept on staring at her with her jaw dropped.

“ Mom…mom!” Maurine said, jolting Lucia back to the present.

“ What's the matter?” She asked concerned.

“Nothing” she said chuckling, " You have your mother's look, but everything about your character and intelligence is that of your father. Can you guess what he said to me that day when I wanted to tell him about your mother Ordeals?” She asked.

“ No, what was the question?” Maurine asks eagerly.

“ He said" Lucia" can you please skip the Ordeals and tell me the reason she was being chased, because I know starving scenes will be much and that will make me mad.” Lucia said grinning.

Maurine scoffs and wipes her tears.

After almost a year of her (princess Juliana) father (king Drake) passed away. Juliana was able to sneak out of the palace with her maid Irene, who was thrown into prison for letting Juliana drink water when the Queen starved her for days.

“ Juliana got help from her junior brother price Dennis, who helped her with some food and money, and he also set Irene free by stealing the dungeon keys from his mother.”

Both Juliana and her younger brother, Prince Dennis sneak out of the palace and went to set Irene free while the guards were busy sleeping.

“ Run away sis, you can go to Desmond's house, he is your betroth he will surely help you, his father is an elite, so no harm will be done to you.” Prince Dennis whispered, looking around awkwardly.

“ Are you sure you would rather not come with us?” Princess Juliana asks frightened.

“ No, you go alone. I will be fine, I will handle mother.” He replied, looking around intently.

“ Are you sure you will be okay?” She asked again, sobbing silently.

“ You have to go now or else you will be trapped in here for the rest of your life.” He said furiously.

Now crying, Juliana said, " promise me you'll be fine.” Juliana said, squeezing her brother's hand and sniffing as she sobs.

“ Okay, I promise.” He said, hugging her goodbye.

He heads back to the palace.

“ Let's go, princess, please let's go.” Irene pleaded with her, as she didn't want to move an inch forward.

“ Did you want to avenge your father?” Irene suddenly asks.

Juliana nods crying.

“ Then you have to seek the right connection to investigate your father's death. And that can only be achieved if you come with me now.” Irene said firmly.

She pulls Juliana and she follows obediently.

It took them six days before they could, they got to the Roberto's mansion because they were avoiding the sun.

During the day they Lodge in a motel with the money given to them by the prince, and they set off again at night.

When they got to the Roberto's mansion, they were allowed in and on getting there the vampire priest (Roberto) was not around. he went on a business trip.

They were tended to by the maids who helped them change into new clothes and gives them good food. On the fourth night of their stay at the Roberto's , Juliana woke up to a commotion.

She sneaks and traced the voices, she stood by the door and peeped through the tiny hole.

“ My princess…"

“ Shhh....” Juliana hushed Irene, crossing her index finger on her lips.

“ Listen!” She whispered.

" Why are you not sleeping.” Irene asks in a hushed tone.

“ I said listen.” Juliana whispered in frustration.

“ Well, I am pregnant, and you are responsible for it.” Kira, Juliana only female friend said to Desmond, who was still naked, because they just finished having sex.

“ Why are you not answering me, is it because of your betroth?” She asks angrily.

“ Keep your voice down, you wouldn't want to wake her up.” He said, sounding aggressive.

“ Well, when did you intend to tell your father about it?” She asked, puffing out cigarette smoke on his face.

“ I don't intend on telling my father anytime soon, because I have to marry the princess no matter what.” He said, giving a sinister smile.

“ Why did you have to marry her, is it because she is the prettiest of all?” She asked angrily.

“ Yeah that's part of the reason, but the main reason was because she is a chain of wealth, the key to my success.” He said, grinning widely.

“ How is that?” She asked confused.

“ You see that bracelet on her wrist? It is the key to the late king's hidden treasures the worth billions of dollars.” He said with a wide eyes.

“ How come you know all of this?” She asked curiously.

“ I overheard the king and my dad talking about it on one of my visits to the palace to see the princess.” He said proudly.

“ So, what's your plan?” She asked.

“Ahem” he clears his throat and began to plot. “ I will get married to her and get her to trust me enough to give me the bracelet, and then steal the whole treasures and flee to another country with you and our child.” He said nonchalantly.

“ Wow!, That's what I love you.” Kira said, kissing him.

Juliana looks at Irene, who shakes her head in sorrow.

Let's get out of here, Irene said, pulling Juliana behind her, and mistakenly she tripped and broke a verse.

“ Who's out there.” Desmond said I am demeanor, thrilling voice.
