Chapter 54: Start over again

“Are you crazy?” Drixie couldn’t hide her anger towards Lynn after knowing she refused to file a case against Natalie and watching Natalie leave the station with her brother Norwan accompanying her. She doesn’t know what is happening now; first, her brother, Norwan. She starts to get close to Natalie; second, Lynn refuses to file a case against Natalie even after what she did to her and to her unborn baby.

“Is people now getting crazy?” She asks herself.

“I told you I don’t want to file a case with her,” Lynn said, who just entered her car. Drixie rolled her eyes and leaned into the driver’s seat.

“Why? Is it because you’re scared of her?” She asked so Lynn shook her head as she answered and sighed.

“I told you it’s also my fault from the beginning.” She said to Drixie, who was looking at her badly.

“But you will just give her a lesson for what she did to you and to your baby!” Drixie said, so Lynn just swallowed, and for the second time, she sighed.

“Drixie, I know your frustration and knew you just wanted to help me, but believe me. I’m already okay, and we're already okay. We just talked to each other earlier, and I realize she’s still my friend after all.” She said, which gave Drixie chills after hearing her words.

“You really that crazy, huh? She’s an enemy, Lynn; she hurt you, and she even killed your unborn child, what’s wrong with you?” Drixie asks, irritable. Lynn looked out the window and just smiled.

“There may be something wrong with me, but just like I said, she’s still my friend.” She said and looked at Drixie. “After all this, I want to take a break and start over again.” She added, which caused Drixie to look at her with her soft side.

“What do you mean?’ She asks, looking at her friend, who is now smiling at her.

“I don’t want to start some chaos or think about some negative side of people. I will rather start over again than give the person who did wrong to me a revenge that I will surely regret in the end.” Lynn said, which caused Drixie to fall quiet while looking at her friend unbelievably.

On the other hand, Norwan stops his car in front of Natalie’s house and looks at Natalie, who looks so sad and exhausted; he clears his throat and swallows before he starts to talk; it seems Natalie is thinking something intense that she didn’t notice that they already arrived in her house.

“We’re here,” Norwan said, but Natalie didn’t look at him. It seemed that she was out of herself, so he held her hand, which caused her to bring back into herself and look shocked at Norwan. Nowan just chuckles because of what he witnessed.

“We’re here.” He repeated and Natalie looked outside and saw they had already arrived at her house; she smiled awkwardly at Norwan before removing the seatbelt.

“Thank you.” She said and looked at him; Norwan smiled, but inside of him, she couldn’t stop thinking about Lynn's unborn child of Lynn.

“Is she really doing that?” Norwan asks himself, and it seems that Natalie reads his expression.

“What are you thinking of?” She asks Norwan, who looks at her and just smiles. Norwan leans to his seat before he looks back to Natalie, who is looking at him and waiting for his response.

“I just wonder something, but please don’t be mad at me because I ask you things like this,” Norwan said and swallowed.

“I just wondering if you really did that thing to Lynn, if you really paid someone to… scare her to death, which caused her to lose her baby?” Norwan asked, so Natalie suddenly looked down and didn’t answer him for a minute before she sighed and looked back to Norwan, who was waiting for her answer.

“Yeah.” She said that this made Norwan feel hostile towards Natalie. “But I didn’t know that she was pregnant that time.” She added, which caused Norwan to be in relief.

“If I knew that she was pregnant, then I would not do such a thing to her. To be honest, I’m afraid, and I’m a little disappointed in myself knowing that someone innocent died because of my willingness to get revenge.” Natalie said, and her tears formed in her eyes. She stopped herself crying, but her tears had fallen down already.

“I couldn’t stop myself from getting disappointed knowing that I hurt my friend, my only friend, to be exact and her soon to be baby, I… I remove her chance to be a mother and I remove her chance to be happy, if only I knew that… she’s pregnant that time I wouldn’t do such thing and I will just keep my anger inside of me.” Natalie said. Norwan swallowed after hearing her words. He reminds them of something that happened when they were still together, and she’s still his Luna.

“Did you… also done this thing to Cora?” He suddenly asks, so Natalie looks at him with her stunned aura. Norwan fights Natalie’s gaze until Natalie removes her gaze to Norwan and wipes her tears.

“I will go now.” She said coldly, which made Norwan to be alert.

“Wait.” He stopped her, but Natalie had already opened the door and gone outside; Norwan watched her go inside her gate until he no longer saw Natalie. He sighed and hit the steering wheel of his car.

“What an asshole are you, Norwan?” He said to himself and leaned his head on the steering wheel.

On the other hand, Natalie enters her house with a heavy heart, knowing that Norwan still asks for things that have already been done in the past. She’s tired of explaining her side of that event, and even if she explains things to Norwan for sure, he won’t believe her; he probably thinks now that Natalie is a baby killer and a bitter person who can’t do anything in life.

Natalie closes her eyes and drinks the water in the glass before opening her eyes. She will one day prove to them that she’s not that kind of person, that she really can’t kill the baby just because she’s got hurt or something.
