Chapter 90 Oh No
Quinn's POV
"Grayson, that's enough," I said loudly. I then pushed him away with all my strength.
I looked at my neck in the rearview mirror and couldn't help but open my mouth. Not only were there kiss marks, but also about ten bite marks.
I stared at him sharply while crossing my arms. "Look at what you've done!"
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
"You!"
He took a defensive stance, covering his head with his arms.
But I didn't hit him and just pinched his stomach. "Take that, you naughty man."
"Ouch, that hurts," he protested.
But I didn't care, just like he didn't care about leaving his mark on my neck.
As a result, to cover it up, I let my hair fall over my neck and made sure that no kiss marks or bite marks were visible.
"Why cover it up? It's so beautiful."
"Beautiful to you. But if other people see it, we'll become the topic of conversation."
"Then I will proudly explain to them that it is my work."
"Oh my gosh, Grayson, I don't understand your way of thinking," I said irritably.
Grayson chuckled and unbuckled my seat belt. "Neither can I understand you. Because I also sometimes have trouble guessing what you're thinking."
I swung my hand in the air. But unfortunately, before it hit his shoulder, he had already rushed out.
He then looked down and showed his head when he was outside. "Sorry, Quinny, this time your target got away."
Not satisfied, I got out of the car, intending to chase him. But it seemed like he knew my intention, so he took the lead.
Unfortunately, the floor was very slippery, so I couldn't move as fast as Grayson, who had dedicated half his life to ice.
Grayson was far ahead of me with my gift tucked under his arm. Meanwhile, I was still holding onto the side of the car.
"Grayson, wait for me!" I said a little loudly.
He turned his head and then widened his eyes. "The car!" he shouted.
I turned my head to look behind me and was just as surprised to see Grayson's car rolling down the slope on its own. The floor, which was also covered in ice, was slippery, causing the car to slide.
I tried to chase after the car but almost fell. Luckily, Grayson caught me before I actually fell.
"Wait here," he said. He then slid easily while carrying the gift. Deftly, he opened the car door, jumped in, and stepped on the brakes, bringing the car to a stop.
I had never been so relieved before. My legs felt weak, and I crouched on the floor to stop my legs from sliding without me asking them to.
Grayson then returned after parking his car in a flat area. He also helped me stand up, one hand lifting my body and the other carrying the gift.
"Phew, luckily I stopped them in time. I mean you and the car."
I patted his arm. "Besides, you were so cruel to leave me alone when you knew the floor was this slippery."
"Sorry, really, I was just trying to avoid you because you wanted to hit me. But in the end, I still got hit by you again. I lost, 1-0."
I tightened my grip on Grayson's waist. "It seems like I'm the only one who can beat you."
"Of course. Because I let you win, but not anyone else."
I stuck out my tongue. "You're good at bragging."
"Hey, I'm serious. I won't let anyone else beat me. But if it's you, I can make an exception."
"So that's a privilege?"
Grayson leaned down and brought our foreheads together, then rubbed them gently. "Yes, it's a privilege to be someone who is precious to me. Someone I love. So, will you be my girlfriend?"
I stopped suddenly and choked on my own saliva.
Did I hear that right? Grayson asked me to be his girlfriend? In this way? After the chaos that just happened?
Oh my god, he's not romantic at all! Even Owen used to be... oh, I shouldn't compare Grayson to Owen, they're completely different.
"I'm serious. But if you think it sounds less serious, then I'll say it again later. At the right time."
I shook my head in disbelief. If he said it again in a different situation, it would be even worse.
"No need," I replied finally.
"Are you... rejecting me?"
I didn't answer with words but with actions, immediately kissing him.
Grayson's eyes widened. "So now we're dating?"
"Yes, Mr. Talon," I replied.
"I can't believe this." Grayson suddenly lifted me up, hugged me, and spun me around.
I'm sure if it weren't for Grayson, we would have fallen because the floor was slippery. He was truly amazing. His strength and stamina were truly unquestionable.
"Put me down, I'm nauseous," I said finally.
You know what was even more annoying? He put his hand on my stomach and asked, "Are you pregnant?"
"You're spinning me around, it's making me dizzy," I said irritably.
Grayson chuckled. "I know, I know. I'm just too happy that I want to keep teasing you."
"Keep doing that and I'll pinch you again," I threatened.
"Aw, I'm so scared—"
Grayson didn't finish his words because suddenly the door opened. We both turned our heads at the same time. And it turned out that it was Grayson's mother who opened the door.
I immediately pinched Grayson to get him to put me down. After he did, I tried to stand up straight while tidying up my clothes.
Honestly, I didn't know what to do now. I think I had ruined the elegant image I wanted to create because she probably saw us spinning around and arguing earlier.
