Chapter 73 Anything for My Quinn
Grayson's POV
“Quinn, I—”
“Shut up, you pervert!”
I was startled by her loud outburst. Honestly, I was more afraid of Quinn yelling at me than my coach. I don't know if it was because I knew that when Quinn yelled at me, it meant she was angry, or because I had become too resigned to everything she did as long as she didn't leave me.
“You’re gonna use that recording to threaten me, aren’t you? Be honest. That’s what you really want, isn’t it?” Quinn pointed her finger at my face.
I shook my head quickly and raised both my hands. “No. I didn’t even think about it.”
“Then why did you record it!” Quinn pushed me until I stumbled and hit the door behind me.
Oh, this is gonna get crazy if I don't stop it. So I knelt in front of her with my hands placed in front of my chest. "I only realized it was recorded after we finished. I didn't have time to turn it off."
“Then why didn’t you delete it?”
I took a deep breath. “As I explained earlier, because I wanted to see it at least one more time because I truly missed you. I was at the point of almost going crazy because I wanted to get you back.”
Quinn laughed bitterly and shook her head, like someone who was unsure. "Isn't it because you feel like you wasted a lot of money on me?"
“No, of course not because of that,” I replied earnestly. “After finding that gift stick for me, I really couldn’t help myself. While I didn’t know where you were. I also realized I was wrong, so I apologize.”
Quinn didn’t respond. She turned away.
“Quinn,” I called out more softly and gently. “Quinn Blair Roux. Will you forgive me?”
Still no answer. I was completely ignored.
I took her hand and stroked it gently. “I’ll do anything as long as you forgive me, truly.”
Only then did Quinn look at me again. Though with a gaze that seemed ready to devour me. “So now you can feel despair too?”
I nodded quickly. “I’m also very frustrated.”
“Okay, so you’ll do anything as long as I forgive you, right?”
"Yes, anything," I answered with absolute certainty. I was even willing to give up everything I had if it meant she would stay by my side.
Quinn looked at me meaningfully. Her eyes darted around, studying mine. But she didn't open her mouth to say what she wanted. That made me anxious.
"You can say it now," I said as carefully as possible.
Quinn shook her head firmly. “I’ll say it later when I know.”
“Okay, that’s fine. But are you not mad at me anymore?”
Quinn rolled her eyes. “No.”
Finally, I could breathe a sigh of relief.
“I was mad and upset earlier. But after thinking it over, you’ve already gotten your comeuppance.”
Oh, maybe not yet.
“I don’t know what you mean, Quinn,” I said honestly.
Quinn returned my phone, putting it in my pants pocket. "You hurt my feelings and misunderstood me, and you got your comeuppance, which was being put on the back burner by Kelly. And yeah, I think that's enough. Enough to embarrass you and enough to make you realize that I'm the only one who truly cares about you."
Oh damn, I’ve never heard such a clear-cut fact. What Quinn said was one hundred percent true. Honestly, I was very embarrassed when I revealed the truth about Kelly earlier. But what can I do? It’s for her sake, so she’ll believe that I’m not interested in Kelly and that only Kelly is interested in me.
It’s okay, since Quinn said it, I won’t get mad.
“Stand up.”
I finally stood up. “So now you’re also admitting your feelings for me?”
“What do you mean?”
"Earlier you said that you were sincere and cared about me. I think that's beyond your duties as my therapist." I raised one eyebrow to tease her.
Quinn pursed her lips and suddenly grabbed her phone again. I thought she was angry because I teased her and would delete the video. But instead, she opened the camera and turned her back to me.
Do you know what she was doing? She pressed the camera button and took a picture of us. Then she threw the phone, which I caught quickly.
“Now you have a photo with me. Don’t do that again. I hate it when you don’t ask permission.”
I nodded quickly. Honestly, I was very happy because it meant Quinn had forgiven me even though she didn't say it directly. I would also pretend not to know if she tried to avoid answering my questions about her feelings for me. I also wouldn't force her to be honest now if she wasn't ready.
The door behind me suddenly opened, and Dylan finally came out of the room. He clapped his hands while looking at us both alternately.
“Finally, the two of you are getting along again. It’s such a relief to know I won’t have to hear any more arguments,” Dylan said with a wide smile.
Meanwhile, Quinn put her hands on her hips and pulled Dylan's wheelchair. "You naughty boy! You deliberately made your sister worry, huh!" She then pulled Dylan's ear.
I didn't want to get involved in this matter. So I slowly slipped away without making a sound. Only when I reached the stairs did I shout. "I'll prepare the food. You two settle your issues first. Okay?"
“Wait!” Quinn shouted.
I froze in place. I turned my head to the side and saw that Quinn had rolled up her sleeves.
“I’m not done yet. Come here.”
“Why?” I asked curiously.
“Just come here first.”
Dylan shook his head quickly and waved his hand. "You'd better run. She’ll pull your ear. That's what she does when she's angry."
Because of that warning, I stepped back to where I was. “Sorry, Quinn, I can’t do what you want this time.” Only then did I run down the stairs.
