Chapter 64 He Found Me

Chapter 64 He Found Me

Quinn's POV

"Calm down Quinn, we'll find Dylan for sure."

I pushed Owen. "How can you tell me to calm down! Dylan's missing, Owen! He's gone!"

I grabbed my hair in frustration. It had been over three hours since I had searched all over the mansion for him, because I thought he might be either lost or trapped and unable to get out of one of the rooms. But after searching in every corner, he wasn't there. Then we searched at the hospital, but there was no record of a patient visit under Dylan's name. And the last place I could think of was the old flat, but Dylan wasn't there either.

That's when I almost lost my mind. Because how could Dylan disappear all of a sudden?

Because when I peeked in the window to see Owen's car coming, Dylan was still sleeping. He was still next to me and still had his eyes closed.

When I was chatting with Owen, I also saw his wheelchair near the TV. And when I was about to go to the kitchen to make breakfast, that's when I found Dylan was no longer there.

But when I first found out about it, I thought it was because Dylan had gone to bathroom or maybe to his room. So I cooked quietly with the thought that Dylan would join us later.

When I finished cooking, I called Dylan. I went to his room, which was unlocked. I entered, looking at the sheets that were still neat. Oh maybe he's in bathroom, I thought.

I went back to kitchen to organize the food on the dining table with Owen's help. Until we had finished preparing breakfast and were arguing again, Dylan didn't join us. In the end, I decided to go back to his room. The bathroom door was still closed, so I knocked on it.

The first knock left unanswered. My mind was still positive because I thought maybe Dylan hadn't heard me. So I knocked again while calling his name, but again, he didn’t answer. After that I couldn't think positively anymore especially after realizing that it didn't sound like someone was taking a shower, not even the sound of splashing water.

Thinking the door was locked, I broke it down. However, it turned out that the door was unlocked and there was no one in the bathroom.

Panicking, I ran out of the room and went to my room. It turned out that my room was also empty, there was no one there.

Probably because he saw me running around, Owen finally approached me. He asked me why I was rushing around. And I explained the situation. After that, we decided to search the entire mansion for Dylan. I went to the second and third floors while Owen went down to the basement and to the guest house at the back.

From that search, I didn't find Dylan. I was still hoping that Owen would be the one to meet Dylan, but he didn't.

Owen asked me about places that Dylan might have visited. But he asked me to stay at the mansion and let him look for Dylan out there.

I flatly refused, saying I wanted to find Dylan too and threatened not to return to the mansion again if Dylan wasn't found. Eventually Owen let me tag along.

And that's how we ended up visiting one place after another with zero results.

"Even if he's missing, it's not because he was kidnapped, Quinn. But he did leave on his own will."

Owen's words really made me furious. Because if it was Dylan's own will, it meant something was wrong until he didn't want to tell me. But what is it? Oh come on Quinn, think!

"If we go to the police, with Dylan almost 20 years old, they'll most likely think he ran away."

I clenched my fists and tightened my jaw. "If you don't want to help me, then just shut up, Owen! You can even go now and do your own thing. I really don't mind. I'm actually relieved that no one is interfering with my business." I pushed his shoulder. "Just so you know, your theatrics are terrible. You showed too much that you only care about me but not my brother. And honestly, I can't accept your help anymore if you only want to help me and not my brother."

"Quinn, wait!" Owen grabbed my hand but I shoved him away.

I took a few steps back until I was further away from his car. "Now I pretty much know what your purpose is for letting us stay at your mansion and offering us protection from Grayson. None other than because you wanted to make up your image in front of me, right? Unfortunately, instead of getting better, you're only making things worse, Owen."

I don't care anymore if Owen gets angry or leaks my agreement with Grayson. The most important thing for me right now was to find Dylan and get away from people who couldn't be sincere with us.

"Okay, you're right! You're right about why I let you guys stay in my mansion. But that doesn't mean I don't care about Dylan. I care about him, a lot. I also know you love him so much, so I'm trying to keep you two together in the same place. Is that reason also wrong?"

I laughed discordantly. "I don't know if what you're saying is the truth or just another lie. Just so you know, Owen, you're worse than Grayson, really."

I walked quickly and even ran to the bus stop. Meanwhile, I heard someone's footsteps following behind me.

I knew it was Owen, so I ran faster. I even intended to ask for help from the people I met so Owen would no longer follow me.

But before I reached the bus stop, as I crossed the street that was still in the area of my old flat, a car came from the right very quickly towards me.

That's when my body froze like something was holding me in place. That's when I thought my life would end. That's when I thought I'd never see Dylan again.

I heard Owen calling my name from a distance. But my eyes couldn't look anywhere else but at the car that was driving here.

I closed my eyes and heard the loud screeching of tires as if I'd hit the brakes suddenly. After that, I felt a strong wind that blew my hair. However, I didn't feel anything hit my body.

Out of curiosity, I opened my eyes. What I saw was not heaven, but the figure of Grayson who got out of his car and ran towards me.

I blinked my eyes a few times to make sure what I saw and I still saw Grayson, even now he was getting closer to me. A few seconds later, he was in front of me, so close that the tips of our shoes were touching.

I looked up to see his face. His eyebrows were furrowed, almost together. His lips trembled and open slightly.

"Quinn."

Hearing that deep, raspy voice again made my legs suddenly limp like jelly until I was sure I was going to fall. But Grayson caught my body, holding me in his arms.

I knew I should’ve pushed him, but because what happened just now was so shocking, I was unable to do anything and still couldn't even get my voice out to speak.

"I'm so happy to see you again." Grayson tightened his hug even more and was now rubbing my hair.

"Hey asshole! You almost hit Quinn!"

It was Owen's voice. I turned around, finding him across the street with his hands clenched into fists and shoulders rising and falling.

Grayson didn't let go of our hug, but he repositioned our bodies so now my view of Owen was blocked by his burly body. He also grabbed my head with his hands until my head rested on his broad chest.

With this position I could hear his heartbeat very clearly. It was beating so fast that it exceeded my heartbeat. Not only that, his breathing was ragged as his chest rose and fell.

Grayson looked down. Our eyes met for a moment before he looked back to Owen. "And you almost made her lose her brother, faggot!"
