Chapter 163 Hurt by Misunderstanding

Chapter 163 Hurt by Misunderstanding
Grayson's POV

This time I obeyed Quinn's request. I left when she asked me to leave.

Without arguing. Without showing that I really wanted to accompany her instead of wandering aimlessly in this place.

Maybe this way I could be more useful to her. Maybe after this she would appreciate my presence more.

Honestly, I didn't want Quinn to be alone. I also had no intention of hurting her feelings. But if distance was what she wanted, then I would grant it to her.

I really cared about Quinn and Dylan. Not just because Dylan was the brother of the person I loved, but also because I felt sorry for their life story.

I want at least Quinn's sadness not to increase. And I want Dylan to heal.

But it seems that the help I offered actually burdens her. She seems very convinced that the presence of other people will only add to her burden, not reduce it.

Oh fuck! I'm upset at myself right now. I can't do anything for the person I love if she doesn't allow me to help.

And staying silent while she's facing a huge storm feels so wrong.

Therefore, I betrayed what I had just believed in. I turned around and went back to where Quinn was.

I took back all my words. Whether she appreciates it or not, whether she needs it or not, I will still be by her side. I won't leave like a coward like I did earlier.

I'll stay even if I'm kicked out. The point is, I won't listen to Quinn telling me to leave again.

That way, I can make sure—

Oh shit! Where's Quinn?

I've only been gone a few moments, not even five minutes. It's too soon for her to have left, and even if she did, she should’ve passed me because I was near the lift.

Panic washed over me. I was worried Quinn would do something reckless. Because when she wants something, she has to have it. And this time, I was worried she would do something dangerous to herself.

I did support her in Dylan's treatment, but if it meant she would get hurt, then I was strongly against it.

Damn, damn, damn! I had to find Quinn before she actually did whatever was on her mind.

I ran to the nurse station, out of breath. "Have you seen a woman about my height with a petite body wearing a pink shirt?"

The nurses looked at each other for a moment before one of them spoke up. "We saw her leave after you passed by earlier, sir."

"Okay, thank you very much." I immediately ran outside.

When I got outside, Quinn was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there were only eyes watching me, whispering to each other.

I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.

Damn it! Quinn was faster than me. And I was sure that persuading her this time would be much harder than before.

Fuck! I didn't care what other people thought.

I would keep looking for Quinn until I found her. I'll convince her that we can face this together so she doesn't feel alone. I will—

"You're Grayson, right? Oh my God, my grandson is a big fan of yours!"

I stopped suddenly when an old woman suddenly blocked my path. "Sorry, but I'm in a hurry."

"Are you looking for the woman who just got into the black car?"

I furrowed my brow. "I don't understand what you mean."

"Ah, because you look like someone who's looking for something, I thought you were looking for that woman. She looked like she was in a hurry, even running a little. Then she got into a black car after a man approached her. They just left."

Oh fuck! That must be Quinn!

"Do you know which direction they went?" I lowered my voice.

The old woman pointed to the right. "The car went that way if you want to follow them."

I immediately stood up to her height. "Thank you very much for the information. Would you like to take a photo together to show your grandson?"

The old woman smiled. "Is that okay? You're in a hurry."

I took the phone she was holding and smiled back at her. "Sure. I'd be happy to."

I took a few photos and quickly returned the phone. "I'm sorry I can't talk to you for long. But really, your information is very important to me."

I left immediately after that. But then I stopped again when she said...

"Is she your girlfriend? My grandson really wants to know if you have a partner or not. He wants to see you like the other players who have partners."

I took a deep breath and turned around. "Yes, that's right. But please keep it to yourself. Tell your grandson later, after the news about our relationship comes out."

Okay, this is the first time I've confessed to someone other than my family.

And I really hoped our status would still be the same after I found Quinn.

I sped up my car and passed several cars that were blocking my way.

If what the old woman saw was a black car and Quinn with a man, then it was most likely Quinn with Owen.

Owen had a black car and he also followed us to the hospital. So I didn't suspect anyone else but him.

But unfortunately, I still haven't found them.

Among all these cars, I don't see Owen's car.

Damn Owen! Where did he take Quinn?

I'm sure Owen knows something Quinn didn't tell me. Because it feels like she already has a plan after the test results came out.

If the doctor asked if there were other family members, could it be...

No, no. If Quinn had found her mother, she would’ve told me.

But... what if Quinn didn't want to tell me because she knew something I didn't?

Oh shit! If my guess is right, could it be that Quinn doesn't trust me yet?

So, what has she thought of me all this time? A man who pays her to have sex? Not her lover?

Oh, my pride is hurt. If that's true, I'm very disappointed.
