Chapter 144 Please Don't Agree
Quinn's POV
Grayson quickly reached me. He then pulled my hand until I fell into his arms.
I could hear his heart beating fast, as well as his heavy breathing.
When I looked up, I found Grayson's face flushed with his jaw clenched.
Meanwhile, Owen lowered his fist and chose to take a few steps back. Hanz remained where he was, with a smug look on his face.
"Are you okay, Quinny?" Grayson asked me.
I nodded, still in his arms. "I'm fine," I replied softly.
I remembered what Hanz had said. Now, looking at Grayson, I felt like I had a thousand new questions I wanted to ask but couldn't. It felt like the days when I was still trying to earn Grayson's trust.
I knew I couldn't just trust Hanz. But it was also impossible for him to know about my mother if he didn't know her.
The problem was, I had never talked about it to anyone.
For now, at least until I meet my mother, I will put my trust 50/50 in both Hanz and Grayson. That way, if one of them turns out to be lying, I won't be too hurt.
"I warn you not to bother or approach my woman. Or you will suffer severe consequences," Grayson said emphatically.
With a tone like that, if I were Owen or Hanz, I would definitely think twice about staying here. But it turned out that both of them liked challenges and trouble. Instead of leaving, Hanz deliberately said something to provoke Grayson.
"Unfortunately, everyone knows Quinn as my girlfriend," Hanz said loudly and confidently.
Grayson was about to step forward, but I hugged him tightly. In the end, he could only point at Hanz in front of his face.
"Hey rookie! I've taken care of everything. So that's just in your dreams." Grayson glanced at Owen. "Now, everyone knows Quinn isn't involved with anyone and the news you made up is false."
"I'm afraid that's not the case anymore," I said softly, as if whispering to him.
Grayson looked down. "What do you mean, not anymore? Who changed it?"
"Earlier, that damn rookie caused a commotion in the restaurant. He deliberately approached Quinn. The restaurant was very crowded. So maybe now or soon, there will be new news that refutes the clarification," Owen explained. He then cleared his throat.
Meanwhile, Grayson, whom I couldn't stop, grabbed Hanz by the collar and punched him in the face. He only did it once, because I then hugged him around the waist. Even so, that one punch was enough to make Hanz's nose bleed.
"Stop it, Gray Bear. He just wants to mess with your emotions," I said to Grayson.
Grayson stopped, but it was Hanz's turn to act.
Fortunately, he couldn't touch Grayson because Owen pushed him away.
I stared sharply at Hanz. "You deserve it, Hanz! Get lost!"
Honestly, I couldn't handle breaking up a fight between three Alphas at once. I also couldn't deal with a jealous boyfriend, an ex-boyfriend who was still crazy about me, and a young man who wanted to show the world that he was the best.
Therefore, while they weren't too far gone in their anger, it was better to separate them. It would be better if they left here and stopped interfering with my work!
I let go of Grayson's hug and stood between them. I put my hands on my hips and looked at them one by one. "First, Hanz, if you've apologised, then stop starting new problems. Second, Owen, control your emotions and don't make things worse. Third, Gray Bear, please calm down and don't use violence. This is almost over."
"If what Owen said is true, then there's no such thing as over," Grayson argued.
Grayson was actually right, very right in fact. But if it was only resolved by punching Hanz in the face, then it wouldn't control the news that would come out. But the problem needed to be resolved with a cool head, with a new rebuttal that was even stronger.
"That's true. Luckily, I came and stopped everything. But this madman is picking a fight with me. So don't expect me to make peace now," said Owen.
"Owen, stop!" I snapped. "The new news story that's about to break is my business with Grayson. And if you're mad about how Hanz treated you, then I'm washing my hands of it. That's your business with Hanz. Do you understand?"
Grayson pulled me back to him. "Quinn doesn't need to thank you either. It's not equal to what you did to her in the past. She didn't ask for your help either. And you even followed her to her workplace. That's creepy, you know! You stalked her!"
Hanz suddenly laughed. "Wait, wait. So you mean Quinn and this guy used to have a relationship? Like exes?"
"You don't need to know, kid! Get lost or I'll punch you in the face again until your nose breaks and you become so ugly that no one will idolise you!"
Hanz laughed loudly and clapped his hands. "So this is a love triangle. Ah, this will be great material for the news."
"Shut up, you bastard!" Owen snapped. He stepped forward again and kicked Hanz, but missed.
Hanz shook his head. "I feel so sorry for you, Mr. Drew. You're so pathetic. Stalking your ex? It seems you really can't move on from her."
Owen glanced at me then looked at Hanz with his fists clenched. "Kid, don't get involved in grown-up business."
Grayson growled. "And if you spread what you heard here to anyone, I'll find you and silence you my way."
"Wow, I'm so scared of being threatened by two men who love you, Quinn." Hanz then backed away. "I might not expose your complicated relationship if you let Frost Maple lose to White Tiger in the next match, Mr. Talon."
Oh no. I hope Grayson won't agree to that cunning request.
I hope Grayson thinks clearly and realises that Hanz is just playing with him.
