Chapter 131 My Rainbow After the Rain
Grayson's POV
Quinn's cheeks were flushed red. Amused, I pinched them to make them even redder, like strawberries.
"If I really wanted you to be my wife, would you?"
I got a punch on my thigh. "Are you seriously proposing to me here like this?"
"This isn't a proposal. I'm just asking. And of course, to propose to you, I couldn't possibly do it as simply as this for a woman as special as you."
"Ugh. Where did you learn to sweet-talk?"
"From you."
"I never taught you that!"
I tightened my hug around Quinn while showering her face with kisses. "I'm joking."
I felt truly happy and relieved to see her being chatty again. It was so much better to see Quinn like this than to see her lying there without saying a word.
It was like I could stand listening to Quinn's nagging. But I couldn't stand not hearing her voice for even a day.
Quinn's comeback was like a rainbow appearing in my life. Because she fixed me and my family relationships.
Quinn's arrival in my life has completely changed me. I feel like a better version of myself, one that I never imagined I could become.
I also never thought I could love someone as deeply as I love Quinn. All this time, I only thought about loving myself because no one else would. And Quinn appeared, showering me with her sincere and unconditional love.
That's why I will never stop loving Quinn. Because her love makes me feel alive, and I want to pay back the same feeling. I also want to be a rainbow in her life. I want to color her life the way she colors mine.
"By the way, how was your game? I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise to watch you until the end."
"Quinny, don't apologize, okay? We all know what you did, so don't apologize. We're the ones who should apologize to you."
Quinn pursed her lips. "So you slaughtered Hanz?"
I smiled. "Yes, Frost Maple won, I scored the most points. And Hanz, he was upset and probably embarrassed. He even threw his helmet after the game ended."
Quinn clapped her hands. "Wow! You're always amazing! I'm so happy for you. I'll watch it later. Let's watch it together, okay?"
I nodded. "With pleasure. All of this is thanks to you, you know. You helped me calm down and fulfill my superstition."
Quinn's cheeks turned red. I devoured her. "You really are amazing."
"Please don't talk about it. I'm embarrassed."
"Why be embarrassed? We've even done various styles and various—"
Quinn stuffed an apple in my mouth. "Stop talking about it, Gray Bear! It made me get goosebumps, you know!"
I laughed and bit into the apple. "You're fast, turns out. I barely blinked and you already took the apple."
"Really? I'm that fast?"
I looked at the ceiling. "Not too fast. Just a little faster."
Next, I got a slap on my arm. Oh shit! That really hurt. Quinn's strength is no joke now. I had to rub my arm repeatedly to get rid of the numbness. "I'm kidding, Quinny. You are very fast, even if you're not as fast as me."
Quinn suddenly rolled up my sleeve. She then rubbed my arm, which now had five finger marks on it. "Does it hurt?"
"It feels like being bitten by an ant."
"A giant ant? There's no ant that bites this big!"
I couldn't hold back my laughter. Finally, I laughed out loud. Meanwhile, Quinn looked at me with annoyance and patted my arm repeatedly.
"Now you always laugh at what I say."
I finally grabbed both her hands and brought them above her head. I moved my face closer until our noses touched. "Not everything, just the funny stuff. Please don't think I'm looking down on you. Because that's impossible."
Quinn's eyes looked at me alternately and then looked at my lips and back to my eyes again. She also pursed her lips.
That sent a signal to me. That I couldn't waste those pink, sweet lips.
So a second later, I devoured her lips. I sucked on them like I was thirsty for them.
Seven days. During that time, I couldn't and didn't dare kiss her. So when I had the chance, I didn't waste it.
This kiss sent a signal to my brain, relaxing my body and suddenly making my heart beat very fast.
Quinn put both hands on my chest and slowly pulled her head back. "Wait... I want to... take a breath."
I kissed the corner of her lips. "I don't know what would’ve become of me today if I had never met you, Quinny."
"Ouch, don't say that. You're making me sad."
I rubbed her mochi-like cheeks. "I just want to express my gratitude. It's not enough to say it once or twice. I want to say it every day. I want you to know that my feelings are not a joke. I'm really serious."
"Okay, okay. I'll always listen to it. But now hug me. I want to sleep in your arms. You've already given me your kiss. So this sleeping beauty will sleep now."
I reflexively sat up. "Promise to wake up tomorrow. Don't sleep in a long time again. Okay?"
Quinn chuckled and lay back, facing the ceiling. "I promise to wake up tomorrow. But you have to wake me up."
"Sure."
Quinn then massaged her hands. Seeing that, my brain sent out a danger signal.
"Which part hurts?"
"Ah, nothing. I just feel a little sore from hitting you earlier."
Oh gosh. That's really funny. Even though she was the one who hit me, she was the one who felt the pain.
I removed her hands slowly and replaced them with mine. "I'll massage you. Now it's my turn to take care of you. So please close your eyes and enjoy my massage."
"That tickles, Gray Bear."
"That's because you're not used to it. You're only used to massaging others, so when you feel it yourself, it feels strange."
Quinn finally closed her eyes. "You're absolutely right. But keep going. It's starting to feel good."
I smiled broadly. "Ayay captain."
