Chapter 107 Distractions from the Ex

Chapter 107 Distractions from the Ex
Quinn's POV
As soon as the elevator doors opened, I rushed to the door, entered the code, and then ran to Dylan in the living room. I hugged him tightly. "Are you okay?"
Dylan looked at me and Grayson alternately. "Yeah, I'm cool. Nothing happened because after I told the receptionist, they asked Owen to leave."
"Oh, thank goodness." I let go of him and then turned Dylan's wheelchair. "Okay, you are fine."
"I told you so," Dylan replied. He then moved towards Grayson. "Sorry for almost letting a stranger in."
Grayson patted Dylan on the shoulder. "No need to apologize. You handled it well."
It was fortunate that there was no coercion or commotion. Because I couldn't imagine if today there was news about the young master of the Talon family and the young master of the Drew family getting into a fight.
After all, the two families had always had a good relationship, even though Grayson and Owen did not. So it would definitely be a very interesting topic for the media to stir up.
Grayson sighed. "It's hard to believe. A Drew family heir would give up so easily."
I understood exactly what Grayson meant. Because even though Owen seemed calmer than Grayson, he was also very stubborn.
It's not easy to get Owen to agree to someone else's orders. But this time he was willing to leave without coercion, which was a bit strange.
I was worried that Owen was planning something to come back. I was worried that Owen would do whatever it took to see me again.
Our last meeting didn't go well. Especially since Owen begged me, which he had never done before, even when we were dating.
I also still find it hard to believe that Owen loves me again. I just think he's making me his backup because his fated mate rejected him.
Honestly, if that's Owen's intention, then I don't want to give him another chance, even as a friend. Because I don't want to be someone's second choice.
If someone loves me, then he can only love me and not have another woman. Not only do I not want to be a victim of cheating again, I also don't want to hurt the woman who becomes the second choice.
Unfortunately, it seems that Owen doesn't realize this. That's why he's still trying to get me back.
"Do you think he'll come back?" asked Dylan.
"I don't think so," replied Grayson.
Dylan then looked at me. "What do you think, Quinn?"
"I think so. Not here, but maybe he'll find another way to meet me," I replied honestly.
Grayson approached me and held both my hands. "Then I'll hire a bodyguard to watch over you while I'm playing games."
I shook my head. "No, that's too much. Besides, it feels weird that I'm not a star like you but have to have a bodyguard walking beside me all the time."
Grayson frowned. "He'll walk behind you then."
I held back my laughter because it wasn't the right time to laugh. "It's not about the bodyguard's position, Grayson. But if I'm escorted by a bodyguard, it will only make people curious. I don't want other people prying into my life."
"Honey, I just don't want him to hurt you," Grayson said, whining.
No, I wasn't worried about that because somehow I was very sure Owen wouldn't hurt me since that wasn't his intention. What I was worried about was that Owen would become a wedge between Grayson and me.
I was afraid that if Owen came to me again, Grayson would get jealous and misunderstand.
"Wait, wait. Honey?" asked Dylan. His expression looked incredulous. He also pointed at me and Grayson alternately. "You guys mean you're dating?"
"We—"
"Yes, we're dating," Grayson answered for me. He then grabbed my right hand and kissed it. "So now you're my future brother-in-law, Dylan."
Dylan and I both stared at Grayson.
"You guys are getting married?" Dylan asked loudly. He then looked at me. "You're getting married but you didn't tell me, Quinn?"
I rubbed my temples. "Listen to me, Dylan. What Grayson said is still a plan. He hasn't even proposed to me yet." I rolled my eyes.
"Can I propose to you, now?"
"No!" Dylan and I replied simultaneously.
Grayson looked at me, then at Dylan. "Why?"
"Because you have to focus on your game first," I replied.
Meanwhile, Dylan's answer was, "If you do it now, you'll just make Quinn the center of public attention. Because the game is still going on. Imagine the news about an ice hockey star marrying a mysterious woman who used to be his therapist. I don't think that would be good headline news."
I totally agreed with Dylan. He had a point.
"Alright. I'll propose to you at the right time," Grayson said, weakly.
I shook my head slowly. "Let's take this relationship slowly but surely, babe. There's no need to rush. The important thing is, I know you love me and you know I love you."
Grayson nodded. "You're right. I'm sorry, I was so hasty. I really can't wait to make you my wife. If that happens, I'll be a very lucky man." He then kissed my forehead. "I'll be patient."
Dylan suddenly clapped his hands once. "Okay, can you guys not show your affection in front of me? I'm nauseous, really."
Grayson and I laughed at Dylan's reaction. I understood his response very well because I had never shown him that I was deeply in love with any man, even when I was still dating Owen.
Grayson cleared his throat. "I invite you to leave or go to your room if you don't want to witness any more scenes, Dylan."
I pinched Grayson's waist. "Don't listen to him. He's just bragging," I corrected.
Dylan rubbed his arms. "I'm getting goosebumps." But then he really left us.
Meanwhile, I immediately opened Grayson's shirt because when I pinched him earlier, his reaction looked like he was in a lot of pain.
And when his shirt opened, I opened my mouth wide.
On Grayson's back and waist were small bruises, like... pinch marks?
Oh my god, was that because of me?
"Did you see that? Looks like I have to be careful from now on because you have very strong powers."
Grayson's back shook with laughter. Meanwhile, I patted the parts that weren't bruised.
"Be quiet. I'll treat you," I said. I pulled him into his room and locked the door.
