Chapter 51: THE MYSTERIOUS WOMAN APPEARS
The heavy iron gates of Rory’s mansion groaned open as the security team hesitated.
They had never seen such commotion at the front entrance before.
A woman, elegantly dressed in a fitted black coat and high heels, marched up the driveway, dragging along two identical boys no older than six.
Her long auburn hair framed a beautiful but furious face, and her sharp green eyes blazed with determination.
She was on a mission.
Two security guards stepped forward, blocking her path.
"Ma’am, you can’t just barge in—"
"I’m not leaving until I see Victor Dela-Cruz" she snapped, her voice cutting through the crisp evening air like a blade.
The twins beside her clung to her legs, wide-eyed and confused.
The head of security exchanged glances with his colleague. It was late, and no one got past these gates without an appointment.
But something about the fire in her eyes made him uneasy.
"State your business," he demanded.
She squared her shoulders. "Tell Victor Dela-Cruz that his lover, Alice Monroe is here. And that I have his sons with me."
A stunned silence followed.
Then without another word, she pulled out a thick envelope and held it up.
"If he refuses to see me, I’ll make sure this lands in the press by morning."
That got their attention.
A murmur passed between the guards before one of them spoke into his earpiece.
Inside the mansion, Victor was enjoying a quiet evening with Rory when the call came.
The atmosphere in the mansion was peaceful, Amy had gone to sleep.
A bottle of red wine sat on the coffee table, half-full. The soft hum of classical music played in the background, and Rory sat curled on the leather sofa, flipping through a business report.
Victor stood by the fireplace, swirling his glass lazily.
Then his phone buzzed.
Frowning, he answered.
"Sir, you have an… unexpected visitor."
"At this hour?" His tone was already irritated.
"She says her name is Alice Monroe. She claims to have your children."
Victor froze mid-sip.
"...What?"
Rory, noticing the shift in his expression, lowered the file and stared.
"What is it?" she asked.
Victor didn’t answer immediately.
His mind was scrambling, the name Alice Monroe didn’t even sound familiar.
My children? What children?
Before he could react, the front doors burst open.
A whirlwind of expensive perfume, anger, and accusation swept into the room.
Alice Monroe stood at the entrance of their grand living space, her heels were clicking against the marble floor as she strode in like she owned the place.
Two small boys clutched her hands.
Rory slowly rose to her feet, her heart pounding.
Victor’s grip tightened on his glass.
Alice’s green eyes locked onto his.
Then, in a voice dripping with rage and betrayal, she said—
"Victor Dela-Cruz, So this is where you came to hide, you left me without even looking back, are you that heartless? Anyways, meet your sons, the fruit of the sweet love you made to me seven years ago."
The room went dead silent.
Victor’s face twisted in confusion, disbelief, and immediate rejection.
"What kind of sick joke is this?" he asked coldly.
Alice scoffed. "It’s no joke. These boys are yours."
Rory’s fingers curled into a fist at her side.
She looked at the two boys standing there, they were identical to Victor in every way.
Their brown hair, Victor’s strong jawline, their eyes were a bit different from his, but oddly familiar.
Her stomach churned.
"That’s impossible," Victor snapped, stepping forward. "I don’t even know you!"
Alice let out a bitter laugh and reached into her handbag.
"Really? You dont know me? Then explain this."
She threw a stack of photos onto the coffee table.
Rory barely resisted the urge to flinch as she took a step closer.
Victor didn’t touch the pictures, he just stared.
And his face paled because there he was in the photos.
At a dimly lit bar, Victor looked slightly tipsy, standing with Alice in the picture.
The other photo was taken outside a hotel with Alice on his arm.
Then there was a hotel receipt from seven years ago. And the final blow was a DNA test result.
"99.8% match."
Rory felt her heart drop into her stomach.
She reached for the DNA test with trembling fingers.
Her gaze flicked over the names, the numbers.
It was real.
Victor was the biological father of these twins.
The timeline fit.
Seven years ago, three months before she met Victor. He was with this woman.
The cold betrayal wrapped around her chest like a vice.
Victor’s voice was hoarse. "This is purely a misunderstanding, it can't be true"
Alice crossed her arms. "Really? Because science doesn’t lie."
Victor turned to Rory, desperation creeping into his voice.
"I swear, I don’t remember her. I have no recollection of that night. I never—"
Alice cut in, her voice sharp as glass. "Of course, you don’t. You were drunk. You probably don’t remember what happened after that last drink you had. But I do."
Rory’s hands curled into fists.
The boys, oblivious to the storm brewing around them, stared up with innocent eyes.
Rory felt sick.
She had built a life with this man.
And now, this?
But something wasn’t right, as Rory studied Alice’s face, she saw a tiny flicker.
The way Alice kept glancing at Victor as if testing his reaction.
The way her voice trembled slightly when she spoke. Something about this felt rehearsed, ike she was performing a well-practiced story.
Rory took a slow, deliberate breath, and then, she looked at Victor. His face was pure disbelief, not guilt.
That was the one thing keeping her from falling apart.
Because if there was one thing she knew about Victor, he was an honest man. And right now, she saw genuine confusion in his eyes.
Rory turned back to Alice.
"You expect me to believe this?"
Alice’s jaw tightened. "Believe what you want, Mrs. Rory. But your husband has other responsibilities and these boys are his."
She leaned in.
"And if he doesn’t step up? The media will be very interested in this story."
This was clearly a threat.
And just like that, Rory’s heartbreak turned to rage.
She clenched her teeth, her voice a deadly whisper.
"We’ll see about that."
