Chapter 16 You’re Dead for Sure, Scum!
"My face! My face!"
The man in the suit let out a piercing scream, clutching his blood-covered face as he stumbled backward, lost his balance, and fell straight to the ground.
Ethan's move had been so dramatic that it completely shocked everyone present.
But in reality, his facial injury wasn't that serious.
The shattered bone china plate had only left a few minor scratches on his face. The blood mixed with hair gel and red wine made him look extremely pathetic.
Compared to the physical pain, what drove him crazy at this moment was the overwhelming sense of humiliation!
He was Jax, a senior executive at Starlight Entertainment. Normally, wherever he went, wasn't he fawned over by those wannabe models and actors desperate for fame?
But now, he was like a stray dog trampled underfoot, losing all dignity in front of so many people!
The shocked, sympathetic, and even slightly contemptuous looks from those around him pierced his self-esteem, making his face feel like it was burning.
"You damn bastard! How dare you lay a hand on me?"
Jax completely abandoned his gentlemanly facade now, pointing at Ethan and cursing furiously.
"You're nothing but an arrogant fool! I'm going to kill you! I swear, tonight you'll be thrown into the sea like a dead dog to feed the sharks!"
While cursing madly, Jax trembled as he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
Facing Jax's crazy threats, Ethan didn't even raise an eyebrow.
He simply pulled out a napkin from the table and elegantly wiped the bit of red wine stain from his knuckles, showing no intention of stopping Jax from making the call.
To him, there was no real difference between one fly and a swarm of flies. Letting the guy call for backup would allow him to deal with them all at once, completely avoiding future hassles.
Seeing Ethan sitting calmly in his chair without making another move, Jax was stunned for a moment, then a flash of wild joy crossed his eyes.
"What? Scared now? Where's all that cockiness from before, you coward!"
Jax thought Ethan was terrified after hearing he was calling for backup.
"Too late to be scared now! When my boss gets here with his crew, I'm going to rip this bitch's clothes off right in front of you, then make you watch while I fuck her!"
While cursing madly, Jax was secretly pleased with himself.
His boss was a truly ruthless character!
Although this boss named Ace had only arrived in this neighborhood a couple days ago, it took him just one afternoon to violently take over and merge all seven or eight scattered gang forces in the area!
Now Ace basically owned this neighborhood—his power was extremely formidable!
Just five minutes later.
The expensive glass door of the Michelin restaurant was brutally kicked open.
"Who's got a death wish?"
A deafening roar exploded through the restaurant, followed by a massive guy nearly six feet tall, muscles bulging like a human bear, storming in with twenty-some tattooed thugs.
The waiters and diners trembled in fear, not daring to breathe.
"You're finally here!" Seeing Ace, Jax looked like he'd seen his savior and immediately scrambled toward him.
Ace snorted coldly, cracked his knuckles with a teeth-grinding sound, and prepared to move forward with his crew to back up Jax.
However, at that moment, a somewhat thin young man among Ace's followers suddenly pushed to the front.
When he saw clearly the tall, straight figure sitting at the table with his back turned, he froze as if struck by lightning and gasped sharply.
"Ethan? Oh my God, is that really you?"
This young man was Cole, Ethan's childhood friend.
Cole never expected to run into Ethan here.
Seeing Ace about to attack Ethan, Cole rushed forward and spread his arms, blocking Ace's path.
"Boss, wait! This is my friend from childhood! He doesn't know the rules—please, for my sake, let him go this once!"
Ace's face instantly darkened to the extreme, his fierce eyes fixed on Cole as if looking at a dead man.
He suddenly reached out his thick arm and grabbed Cole by the collar, lifting him into the air like a chicken.
"Who the hell are you to ask me for favors?"
Ace sneered viciously, "Today I'm not only going to wreck that clueless punk, but I'm going to teach you a lesson too, you backstabbing piece of shit!"
Ace laughed coldly and turned his gaze toward the man who had been sitting with his back to him all along.
"Let me see which blind fool..."
The vicious curse in Ace's mouth was cut off as if someone had slit his throat!
Cole, who Ace had been gripping tightly, dropped straight to the ground.
The instant he saw Ethan's face clearly, the nearly six-foot-tall, vicious-looking Ace froze in place, his pupils suddenly contracting to pinpoints, his eyes filled with terror!
Cold sweat rolled down Ace's shiny bald head, quickly soaking through his black tank top!
No one knew what kind of despair and fear Ace was experiencing at that moment!
Two nights ago, he had witnessed with his own eyes how this man, with just one casual front kick, had sent the Thorne family's bulletproof iron door—weighing several tons—flying like a tin can!
Ace had only survived by luck because he'd gone to the bathroom, and he'd fled overnight to this slightly more distant neighborhood to take over the remaining small gangs.
But he never dreamed he would run into this living god of death here!
"Boss? What's wrong? Hurry up and kill this bastard!"
Jax, completely oblivious to Ace's strange behavior, kept shouting madly and even stepped forward to push Ace.
"Get lost!"
Ace's face changed dramatically. He suddenly turned around and, using every ounce of strength in his body, delivered a solid slap across Jax's already injured face!
The slap thundered through the entire Michelin restaurant!
Jax didn't even have time to scream. Blood mixed with several molars sprayed from his mouth as he spun twice in the air before crashing heavily through a dining table!
Dead silence filled the room!
Under Cole's stunned, breathless gaze, the gang boss Ace dropped heavily to his knees and pressed his head to the ground before Ethan, who sat holding his wine glass, trembling like a leaf.
"Mr. Williams! I'm sorry! I didn't know it was you! I really didn't know it was you!"
