Chapter 215 The Titan Family is Doomed
Holden froze, "Anne? Did she send someone to hurt Mother, or did she do it herself?"
Candy had just reached the doorway when she heard Holden mention Anne. Her expression immediately darkened. She strode into the room and sneered, "How is it that you run into your ex-wife everywhere?"
Trion watched as Holden's group continued to bring up Anne without any restraint, and she couldn't help but admire her own foresight. After all, before Holden arrived, Trion had ordered all the servants to return to their quarters and rest. No matter what sounds they heard, they weren't to come up unless someone went to fetch them.
Nina couldn't care less about Candy. She cried even harder, "She didn't hit her, she made her angry. I don't know why, but Anne also attended Princess Kirenya's party. As soon as she got there, she scolded Princess Kirenya and her daughter. Then during the argument, Prince Friedel's mother said, said..."
Holden frowned tightly, "Stop stammering and just say it."
When Nina thought about how such an excellent Prince Friedel was going to marry a divorced woman like Anne, her heart ached terribly, "She said Anne is going to marry Prince Friedel!"
"What..."
Holden's eyes widened, "She's going to marry Friedel?"
Nina nodded, her face full of resentment as she cursed, "A woman like Anne who was abandoned by you—what right does she have to marry Prince Friedel? Is it just because of her duke title? I can't accept this!"
But Holden ignored her, just continuing to mutter to himself, "So that's it, that's how it is, no wonder..."
No wonder back at the eastern battlefield, Friedel protected Anne so much, and Anne kept helping Friedel. So those two had been together that early!
Holden's heart ached so much it felt like it would shatter. He desperately tried to find evidence that their relationship wasn't good, but the more he recalled, the more he felt Anne's attitude toward Friedel was so much better than toward him.
But who could he blame?
Anne used to be so good and gentle to him too, completely different from now.
Candy was still speaking coldly from the side, "Oh, I knew Anne's military achievements weren't normal. Looks like they were already having an affair back in the military camp. Maybe her military merits were also earned by sleeping with Prince Friedel."
"Shut up!"
Holden suddenly looked up and roared at Candy, "Don't think everyone is like you! Anne would never climb into a man's bed like you did!"
Candy couldn't help but scream, "Now you're pushing all the blame on me, but I didn't actively climb into your bed back then either. It was you who couldn't resist temptation and on the battlefield with me..."
"Enough!"
Trion really couldn't stand Holden and Candy arguing about these things, "None of you are good people, what's there to argue about!"
"And what do you mean Anne hurt Mother? Princess Kirenya's invitation was ill-intentioned from the start. She wanted us to go to her party and confront Anne, to embarrass Anne. She didn't expect Anne to prove herself and have no intention of backing down to her, so Princess Kirenya pushed all the blame onto Mother, making Mother so angry she passed out."
"Then is Anne not at fault at all? A divorced woman running around everywhere is one thing, but she dares to marry Prince Friedel. Mother and the others just said Anne couldn't get married, and then her engagement to Prince Friedel was announced. Isn't this deliberately targeting Mother, trying to anger her to death!"
Mephist also spoke up, "You can't blame Anne for this. She's a duke now, with a noble status. She can marry whoever she wants. Nina, stop talking nonsense. Isn't Mother suffering enough?"
After being scolded by Trion and Mephist, Nina sat down next to Victoria with tears in her eyes, "Mother, Mother, if you don't wake up soon, I'm going to be bullied to death!"
Trion was about to say something more when she saw Victoria's fingers move and her eyes slowly open.
"Mother, you're awake?"
Holden also noticed Victoria's condition. He quickly stepped forward and held Victoria's hand, wanting to comfort her.
Unexpectedly, when Victoria saw him, a tear immediately rolled down from the corner of her eye, "Holden, we're finished."
"Anne is gone. She's completely cut ties with us. The Titan family is doomed..."
Candy had been standing to the side with her arms crossed. Hearing this, she spoke coldly, "What are you talking about? She completely cut ties when she divorced Holden. I'm Holden's wife now."
"Even if you regret it and want Holden to beg Anne to come back, she has Prince Friedel now. There's no way she'd consider returning to such a broken-down Titan family."
Hearing Candy's words, Victoria was so angry her eyes widened, "Get out, you get out, get lost!"
"I'm not leaving. Let me tell you, stop daydreaming! I'm going to stay right here and watch you all get what you deserve!"
Holden suddenly stood up, rushed to Candy and slapped her hard across the face, "Get lost! You're not welcome here!"
Candy's head jerked to the side from the blow, and the scar on her face seemed to be on the verge of reopening from this slap. She turned her head back and looked at Holden with a cold smile, "Not welcome? Then why did you sleep with me in the first place? You were the one who said you wanted to marry me. You were the one who brought up using military merits to get the King's permission. You were the one who forced Anne to leave. Now that you find me useless, you miss her good qualities and want to throw me away?"
"Holden, how come I never realized you were such a selfish and vicious person? Anne told me before that if you could betray her once, there would be a time when you'd betray me. I didn't believe it then, but now we haven't even been married half a year, and your eyes are already dying to fly to the Virlet Estate, to fly to your noble ex-wife! Is this how you treat me, how you treat the promises you made!"
Holden clenched his fists. His whole body radiated murderous intent, "What haven't I done? Even after you were ruined by those men in Zotfort, I brought you back. All this time I haven't mentioned divorce. But you, you've been constantly suspicious of this and that. If you're so suspicious of me, why don't you learn from Anne and just ask for a divorce and leave!"
"Holden! You... ugh!"
Candy was about to continue cursing when she suddenly covered her mouth and bent over, making retching sounds.
After a moment, she looked up at Holden's stunned face, a barely noticeable cold smile playing at the corner of her mouth, "What's with that expression?"
Holden hesitated a bit. He had wanted to ask Candy if she wasn't feeling well, and if so, Holden would be willing to overlook her rudeness, though complete forgiveness would be impossible.
However, Victoria on the bed seemed to remember something. Her eyes widened as her gaze traveled down from Candy's face, landing on her still-flat abdomen.
