Chapter 50: Blue Claw

Catherine's POV

I finished feeding the twins and placed them down. I looked around, and I still can't believe Darrien matched the paint and mural on the walls. Someone told him so I giggled to myself at his sweet nature; it must have been Zeus.

Cathy, Let's talk. This was not Zeus it was all Darrien. I know he still hurts you and I want to help you. Our pups have noticed your behavior towards him. I can help but you will need to take a dreamless nap. Please for the wellbeing of our pups.?

Athena, What are you saying that you can take the pain away and make me love Darrien more?

Cathy, I can remove the pain. It will not make you love him. I can only use this power to our bloodline. It will take the pain away for a short time. The pain will slowly return but Selene has informed me that it will make it easier for you to move on.

Athena, Okay. Let me get Tracy, Tally, or Kimmy to watch the pups. I need to start to rebuild.

I sneak out of the nursery and walk to the Gamma's Office. Since the Beta office is under construction they are all sharing an office. Plus the Betas keep sneaking off to enjoy pregnancy sex. When I walked in to saw Tally and Kimmy at the desk typing up warrior reports. "Where are Frank and Tracy?"

"Sex," They said at the same time.

"Okay, Darrien is in the war room setting up. Can you watch the twins while I get in a nap? They are napping too and should be up in an hour."

"Of course, Luna." Kimmy came over took the pup monitors and handed over one to Tally. I smiled and walked to Luna's Suite as I hadn't been able to share with Darrien. Here, I hope that we can at least try to share a room. I hopped into the shower to relax my muscles. I put on my comfy pajamas and curled into bed. I took the notepad out and wrote a note for Darrien and Zeus.

Dear Darrien and Zeus,

Athena is helping me with a small task about in taking my hurt away for a short time. This will make it easier to move forward and reconnect with you. My body will be in a type of nap. The Gamma twins are watching our twins. Athena is sure that I will be back in action in 2 hours.

I closed my eyes and Athena took control. My body felt warm and I fell asleep.

Darrien's POV

Aiden went to his pack to chat with his beta and to show the pack land to Emily. I wouldn't be surprised if she were pregnant already. He said he would be back in time. He was meeting with a witch who had some information that would help us too. I set up all the information packages of the Blue Claw Moon. I sent out a text to everyone that we would be meeting in the war room and to bring any additional information. I left the war room and walked to my room I knew I needed a shower and Zeus wanted to see the pups. I hope Catherine is there so I can tell her about Jackie who is attending the meeting.

I saw Tally and Kimmy rocking the pups. I asked for Apollo as he was making grabby hands. "Where is Luna Catherine?" I knew she would not leave them alone for a while.

"Alpha, Luna asked to have us watch the twins as she needed a nap," Kimmy said as she put Artemis in the crib back to sleep. Apollo started to fall asleep as I rocked. I noticed that Apollo is a very quiet and calm baby and Artemis is very vibrant, full of energy as well as a bit of colic. I placer Apollo back in the crib as the three of us snuck out of the room. Tally and Kimmy waved goodbye as I walked to Luna's Suite. Just as I walked into the living part of the suite Zeus stopped me. Darrien, It's way too quiet here and Catherine's scent is faint. Athena is not answering me either. I took off to the bedroom to see her sleeping. I saw the note as both Zeus and took a breath. I walked back to the living room.

This is good news.

How? She is lying there unconscious.

she is choosing you. She believes you can take care of her and the pups while she takes care of herself to be with you.

Guess. I am worried. What she will be like when she wakes up? I know that there is this tension between us but I thought we were working through it.

We are but Athena said that she put up a wall that was stopping her. Plus once this is over I know she will want to be with the pups and then a run. So relax. Athena won't let her change too much As Zeus and I are talking I didn't hear the door open or close until Catherine sat on my lap.

"Hey Hot stuff, Let's feed our pups and go for a run. I have to release some energy." She said as she kissed my cheek and got up.

Close your mouth and get our mate back! Zeus screamed at me with excitement.

I followed her to the pups' room as she popped her head in and then closed the doors. "So they just went down then?" She popped her hip out as she grabbed my hand and dragged me outside.

"Umm. Yes. Are you okay? You seem off." my voice dripping with concern.

"Darrien, Athena helped me with my pain. She is helping me to understand how to heal. She will release my pain slowly. So let's go for a run. Athena is sleeping." I watch in awe as we walk to the tree line and strip her clothes off. I watched her shift into her red wolf. Her wolf seems more dark red than the light red wolf.

SHIFT She commanded and I didn't have any control before I stood in front of her in my wolf form.

How?

I am Moon Blood Wolf. That's not even the coolest thing I can do in wolf form.

I cock my head to the side as I watch her. Her wolf bends down and howls as her body brightens and her paws catch fire.

I can use my powers but this is my true form. Do you know one neat thing about you being my mate? I look at her as she steps forward I next back. She huffs and I stay put. She rubs up against me as the fire engulfs my body but it doesn't hurt. I rub my wolf against hers and she allows me to lick her. I felt the mate bond snap into place and I finally felt my body relaxed.

I let Zeus take over and run with Catherine and Athena.
