Chapter 34 Guess my secret is out
THE FIFTH ELEMENT 🌊🔥🌪️⛰️☯️
Chapter 34🔥🔥🔥
CASSIE'S POV
~~
The whole security panel was with the principal and so were the other Elemental.
They all looked rather shocked at the sight in front of them.
I looked over to Jake, and he met my gaze just as quickly.
After a few seconds of staring, I looked away from him and focused back on the creature laying on the ground.
I guess my secret is out now.
⛰️
After the elementals finished inspecting the scene, they discovered the poor boy in his room — the one we saw the creature attack. His eyes were still black, and he thrashed violently as the guards dragged him out, snarling like a rabid animal.
"What's gonna happen to him now?" I asked Madeline, who was standing right beside me.
Madeline shook her head. "I don't know."
"Wait, isn't he going to be himself again?" My voice came out louder this time.
"He's as good as dead. The creature already got to him. There's no saving him now," Sage cut in.
I turned back to look at her for a second before facing forward again.
"That's messed up," I whispered to myself.
"Everyone!" The principal’s voice boomed across the hall. "I know that you all are a little shaken up about what happened here last night. I sincerely apologize for not being able to protect you, our students. We were so invested in keeping the outside safe that we forgot and neglected the inside. On behalf of all the elementals, I apologize."
The hall erupted in murmurs.
Some in despair. Some in disbelief that the elementals knew nothing about what happened last night.
"We knew it wasn't safe outside, but we didn't know it had gotten this bad. Students, this reason alone is why you all have to take your lessons seriously. You all need to be more proficient in your combat skills and be good at using your powers for defense. I fear that last night was only the beginning of the terror that would take place around here if you all don't learn to defend yourselves," the principal continued.
But this time, everyone was quiet and listening.
"From now on, you'll be having more combat lessons and defense skills. We have to be prepared for anything, at any time. That will be all for now. You may all go to your rooms and get ready for the day. We have a long day ahead of us. You're dismissed," the principal said.
We all scattered, heading to our various rooms, but I was suddenly called back.
"Cassidy Fairchild." I heard my name and turned to look at the principal. She was still standing with the other elementals.
"Um, hello," I said when I got closer to where they were standing.
"We've heard whispers of what you did here last night," the principal said.
"Oh. Yeah, that was surprising," I said, looking from one elemental to another.
"Since when did you know about your powers, and how to use them?" Madeline's mom, Mrs. Stone, asked me.
"Not that long," I replied.
"How long, child?" the principal pressed.
"A few weeks now," I said.
I don’t know why they intimidated me just by standing there.
"And you decided to keep that from us," Sage's mom, the principal, said. It wasn’t a question.
"I was just doing what I was told," I said.
"Told? And whoever told you to keep your gift a secret from us?" the bald man said this time.
"Um. It’s not exactly like he was referring to you guys in particular," I tried to correct the impression.
They all went silent, waiting for me to say the name.
"Mr. Ken Griffey. He's my personal teacher, remember? You guys assigned him to me when I first got here..."
"Of course. I should've known," the principal said and gave her fellow elementals a knowing look. They all exchanged glances, leaving me completely lost.
"Um, is there something I'm missing? Is Mr. Ken Griffey in trouble? He hasn't done anything wrong, you know," I tried to defend him.
"And whoever said he was in trouble?" the bald man said.
I scrunched up my eyes.
Why are they acting weird?
"Um," I said lowly.
"You may go back to your room, child. You also need to be ready for today's training," the principal said. It took me a few seconds before I nodded and made my way to my room.
I don’t know why, but I suddenly felt like these Elemental were hiding something from me.
And whatever it was, it had to do with Mr. Ken Griffey.
