Chapter 34 Where I'd always stand
Madison's POV
I woke up to his hands on my breast.
Oh no, it wasn't just laying on it casually or something.
His hands groped my right breast like it was going to slip away from his grip and he didn't want that.
Worse of all, my nipples hardened after I had realized our position
He looked peaceful when he slept though. His pink lips were puckered slightly and his snores were soft and calm, different from his personality.
Anyway, all these happened on the first night together.
"Urgh!" I groaned at my phone, swiping away the notification that had popped up
It read: Isn't it a great time to fulfil your wish list?
It was. It was a great time to tell Alessandro that I wanted him to bury his head in-between my legs, sucking and eating me out.
A really great time but a very wrong idea.
Then why do you have it on your wish list then? You may ask.
A girl can only wish.
It landed there cos I was bored to death that day and just couldn't stop playing the scenes from the movie I had watched, in my head.
I had even searched for it online and had seen a video of it but after watching it, it made me feel all hot and wet in-between my folds.
My whole nerves were active and I was ready to ease it off but Dina walked in and I had to turn it off.
She really had great timing.
"Don?" I called out, looking around the room for any sign of him.
Indeed, he came in for business. He would dress up in suits as early as 9 a.m and return by 8pm at night.
This was the third night and second day in Florida. I wasn't allowed to step out to see the city but I kinda watched their activities all day from the balcony.
I was asleep for a long while so I didn't know if Alessandro had returned and I hadn't seen his suit laying carelessly on the couch, like he always left it.
"Ales- " The remaining words died down my throat when I caught a sight of his head at the balcony.
I contemplated to turn back. I mean I knew he was there but then one mind said to check if he was moving.
"Uh.. Don?" I called out. He didn't flinch or move. Almost like he didn't hear me. "Don!" I raised my voice high.
Still no result.
Panic crept into my chest as my heart beat accelerated. I moved my feet slowly, clenching and unclenching my fist as I made my way to where he was seated
I placed a hand on his shoulder, a loud yell escaping my lips when my hands were suddenly pulled roughly, my body falling onto his lap.
"Jesus, Madison. What were you thinking?" He released his grip on my hand, helping me up.
"I should be asking you that." I rubbed my hands softly, looking at him. "I have been calling you since but you weren't saying anything."
"You did?" He sat up, placing his empty glass on the table. "I must've been in my head."
I watched him refill his glass. "Yeahhh. You must have." I sat down on the chair opposite his, placing the pillow on my laps.
"Why are you awake? You should be sleeping. It's late."
You must've thought when he said I'd entertain him, he had the time for such. He was always busy and instead adviced me to rest more often.
We were not creating no sins. We didn't do it on the first day too as calls trooped in from work.
"I'm tired of sleeping. At this rate, I'm sure I can stay awake for a week without batting an eyelash." I joked but he didn't laugh.
I don't think I've ever heard him laugh.
"So, what do we have here?" I stared at the table, eyeing the game.
"It's a puzzle. I just need the last word and I can't fucking figure it out." He eyed the game in annoyance. "Piece of shit."
I sat up, looking at it carefully. "I'm not so good at vocabulary words." I mentioned, reading all the words he has managed to spell out on the board.
"For now."
I looked up at him for a while and then back to the game, playing around with the plastic square shape thingy with letters on it.
"S. I. O. C. M. A. T. R. I." Those were the words left.
"Just as stupid as it looks. No way that shit is going to bring out something." He rolled his eyes at me.
Hello? I'm not the cause of it.
I retrieved my phone and opened the dictionary. Whenever I arranged something that seemed to make sense, I'd check if it's a word.
"Give up already." He groaned.
"Chill. Your blood is too hot." I spat, a bit irritated at his attitude.
He didn't say anything afterwards, just patiently looking at me. Probably waiting to tell me 'i told you'.
"I think I got it." My lips curled up into a smile as I waited for the word to load on my device. "Its correct!"
"Amoristic?" He raised his eyebrow at me. "Nah, that's not a word."
I pushed my phone to his face. "It's an adjective. Its used to describe things relating to romantic love. An amoristic dinner, for instance." I explained to him while he listened attentively.
"Love." His face contorted into an angry one. "That's why I never got that shit." He scoffed, leaning back.
I folded my arms, tilting my head to the side as I stared at him. "Something else is bothering you."
"Why do you care?" He spat, eyeing me.
"Because I don't want you to explode here." I signaled at his temple, using mine for descriptive purposes.
He closed his eyes, sighing heavily. "So, there's a rat in my business."
I bit my lips, staring at him blankly.
"What?" He asked, his tone harsh.
"There's a rat in your business." I repeated after him. He nodded. "Then kill the rat."
It wasn't so hard.
His eyes widened in surprise. "I should kill the rat?"
"I mean, rats should be killed."
It seemed as though he had soft spots for rats. Weirdo.
He could kill humans but not rats? Very comical.
"It's surprising that you're asking me to kill. You weren't so pleased when I shot Jero and beat my cousin up." He smirked at me.
"Those were human beings." I argued.
"This is also - oh shit." He pinched the bridge of his nose. Then the sweetest melody I had ever heard erupted from his lips. His shoulder shook as he laughed out loud but somehow collected.
My body tingled at this sweet sound. It was also contagious as I had start to laugh too.
"Why are we laughing?" I asked, seriously.
His eyes widened, his whole body going rigid, like a robot. "You didn't see me laugh. Got it?"
He looked serious so I just nodded anyway. But I knew what I saw.
"What's a rat then?" I asked, curiously.
His lips twitched. He looked like he was battling to hold back whatever he said I didn't see. "It's a person. A snitch."
"So why didn't you just call it a snitch?" I eyed him playfully.
"Raven, that's a term that's like everywhere." He smirked.
"Oh." I sat quietly for a while.
"You're not the only person who doesn't know that a rat is a person though. It's everywhere but not everybody on earth knows it." He spoke, breaking the silence.
If it wasn't Alessandro, I'd have said he was saying it to make me feel better.
"If you have a rat in your business then I wouldn't advice you to kill. If you're so sure then confront the person and maybe terminate the contract." I shrugged.
"I am sure. It just has to fucking be him. All my life, all I've known to do was to kill and if this was my territory, I fucking would've done that without thinking so much." He groaned, rubbing his hands against his face, harshly.
"Those are people's family." I frowned a bit. "It's a normal world over here. You could set him up ...like a bait and see if he rats it out too and maybe you burst his ass!"
He snickered, looking away.
What now?
"Did I say something wrong?"
He shook his head. "Burst his ass? Who is teaching you all these?"
"Movie." I smiled.
"Right." He nodded. "You just gave me an idea though."
Huh? Me?
"I.. I'm happy to help." My smile grew wider as I stared at him. "Let's play 20 questions. I can't sleep." I spat out, relaxing my back. "Please?"
"You better not be getting too comfortable with me, Madison" He said but I could hear the tease in his tone.
"Okay, 3 questions then." I reduced it. "It's quite fair."
"Only 3" He agreed, sitting up.
Amoristic. That gave me a question.
"Have you ever been in love?" I folded my arms, my eyes not leaving his.
His eyes darkened, making me almost regret. "Never." He spat, coldly.
"Oh" I shifted uncomfortably.
"Love doesn't exist. It's something that is not bound to ever exist in my curriculum." He explained further, making his point clear.
I nodded in understanding. My heart broke a bit at the realization that he was never going to need anything serious.
I had more questions to ask him on his principles surrounding love but with those glare he threw my way? Hell no.
I didn't want to trigger his bullet landing in my skull.
"Your turn." I told him.
"Ask your 3 and I'd ask mine after you're done." He licked his lips.
"Alright then. How...how do you really see women?" I asked, unsure of if I wanted the answer to that question.
He didn't hesitate to reply. "As Toys. Play with them as you like and when you're bored or when it's broken, you toss them aside."
His reply was cold, just like his gaze on me.
How did the atmosphere change from something light to something dark, cold.
Maybe I never should've brought these kind of questions in. Especially the first one because that seemed to change his mood.
However, there was one question that was at the tip of my tongue and as I opened my mouth, it slipped out.
"And me?"
His eyes lingered on mine for long, his chest heaving up and down in a dragging manner.
"Is that your third question?"
I nodded. "Yes."
He leaned forward, placing his elbows on the game board, scattering the game.
His eyes were empty, void of any single emotion. He looked like Don Alessandro - scary, cold.
Then he let the sword out of his mouth, watching it pierce my soul deeper and deeper.
"A pet. That's all you are so don't flatter yourself much in your head."
Then he stood up, leaving me there - stranded outside in the cold.
My heart, frozen by the subtle reminder of where I'd always stand.
As his pet.
Nothing more than that.
Maybe it's time to move past this attraction?
