Chapter 85 An Ick

Chapter 85 An Ick
Okay!
I'll go to the hospital tomorrow!”, Isabella agreed.

“That's very good!
Do you think you'll need help tonight??”, Celia asked, looking around Isabella's apartment.

“Nope, I'll be fine! I might limp to and from the bathroom like twice at midnight!
But, other than that! I can manage!”, Isabella answered.

“You sure!?
I can sleep over if you want me to!”, Celia offered, worried about Isabella and the baby.

“No! It's totally okay! I really can manage!”, Isabella refuted.

Celia looked around the apartment again, Isabella wondering what exactly she was looking for.

She watched her bring a small table to her bedside.
She followed after with a bottle of water.

She brought extra blankets, as well as pillows and set them on Isabella's side.

“Do you need to take any drugs for tonight?!”, Celia asked as she approached the drugs Isabella had gotten from the hospital and the pharmacy.

“No! Just tomorrow!”, Isabella answered as she watched Celia do the small amount of dishes she had piled in her kitchen sink.

“What?!”, Celia asked, seeing Isabella's questioning look as she returned the dishes.

“I can do these things by myself!”, Isabella said, still on her bed.

“I know you can!
But let me do this!
You heard the lady! She said you should stay off of the leg!
Remember?!”, Celia asked, making sure Isabella remembered the instructions.

“I know Celia!
I heard her too!
But I don't feel too good about you doing all this after you had a long and tiring day!”, Isabella refuted.

“But who said my day was long and tiring?!”, Celia asked again, diverting the conversation.

“Haha! Funny!
I already called a cab Celia…!”, Isabella said, standing up and approaching Celia.

“...You should get some rest as well! You really need to!
Look! There are eye bags underneath your eyes!”, Isabella said, giving Celia a scare.

“What!? Where?!”, Celia said, grabbing the silverware closest to her to confirm what Isabella had said.

Celia definitely wasn't playing about her skin care.

Isabella laughed heartily as she saw Celia intently scrutinize the supposed eye bags underneath her eyes with the back of a spoon.

“I'm literally just joking!”, Isabella taunted, leaning on her kitchen wall.

“Oh my God! Don't say things like that!”, Celia said, sighing in relief.

“You should have seen your face when I said that!”, Isabella taunted as she watched Celia's reaction.

“Okay! Okay! I'll go get some rest!”, Celia agreed.

“Exactly! The cab should be here anytime soon!”, Isabella replied, checking her phone for recent updates on the ride she had requested.

“You sure you'll be okay?!”, Celia asked one more time before the cab arrived.

“I will…!”, Isabella drawled as they heard a car honking.

She quickly checked the location of the cab and saw that it was the ride she had requested.

“That's for you!”, Isabella said as she walked, rather limping after Celia to escort her downstairs.

“Nope! You stay put! You can watch me from the balcony!”, Celia said, stopping Isabella from straining her injury.

“Alright!
Alright!
I'll stay put!”, Isabella reluctantly agreed before she literally hopped across her apartment to her balcony to see Celia enter the vehicle.

Isabella waved at the car as it drove off, its rear lights disappearing completely as it turned the corner.

She had told Celia a fraction of her story, but she still respected the lady for taking care of her that much.

Quite shaken from the ordeal, Isabella knew it wasn't a fraction of what she had faced with Luciano.

She probably would go ballistic if she found out I ran away from a deranged Mafia Don, Isabella thought, wondering Celia's reaction if she ever told her what actually transpired.

“I need a nap!”, Isabella muttered as she entered the apartment, closing the door, making sure the cold breeze wasn't going to be a problem later.

Literally limping back to her bed, Isabella stripped out of all she had changed into as soon as she walked into her apartment.

Sleeping with just her underwear, Isabella was very much intent on living a very ordinary life.

She smiled gently as she reminisced.

I couldn't do this back at the mansion, she thought as she slowly drifted to sleep.

That night, she did have one of the most beautiful sleeps she'd ever had since she got pregnant.

The father of the baby in question really didn't have any idea he was going to be a father soon!

Rather, he was boarding the car back to his mansion, very uninterested in any other thing.

The one thing he cared about in the meantime seemed like he was wasting his time.

The search for Isabella seemed futile, however it had prompted a stir in the coldest part of his body, his heart.

Luciano really couldn't explain just how much he missed the lady.

The course of events had made him appear messed up, disheveled even as he started to realize he'd taken a liking to her.

“Is that everything?!”, Andreas asked one of the many men as they boarded the vehicle dedicated to take them to the mansion.

“Yes sir!”, he replied as Andreas boarded the same vehicle, sitting beside an uninterested Luciano.

“Thank you!”, Andreas said, slamming the door slightly.

“Anywhere you want to stop?!”, Andreas asked Luciano as the man seemed very uninterested.

“No!
Just head straight to the mansion!”, Luciano replied, suddenly raising his head like he had sensed something.

“Anything wrong boss!?”, Andreas asked as a result of Luciano's spontaneous reaction.

“The search parties…!”, Luciano remembered.

“What about them sir!?”, Andreas asked.

“Do they have any updates?!”, Luciano asked, the convoy heading back to the mansion.

“No boss…!”, Andreas drawled, dampening Luciano's spirit.

“... Nothing yet!”, he completed, Luciano going back to his original position.

Tuscany had really made him wonder how he was going to survive if Isabella wasn't found.

The experience had made him realize just how much he had messed things up.

“Keep an eye on the fourth car from the front!”, a man said from his motorcycle as several spread, waiting at vantage points.

“Is that where he is?!”, another asked, speaking into his mouthpiece, their black helmets making them incognito.

“Positive!”, the first one answered.

“confirm your positions!”, the second prompted, each of the motorcycle riders affirming their presence one after the other.

The motorcycle riders continued to follow the cars, an attempt to follow Luciano to his house.

However, they weren't his men!
