Chapter 126 Nostalgia

Chapter 126 Nostalgia
The tinted glasses of the van didn't do any justice to viewing the pristine buildings on the way to her father's house.

"Can you roll the windows down please?!", she asked the driver, who willingly obliged.

Ahhh!!

There it was...
The familiar breeze!

"Bebaayibibee!", Sophia babbled with a smile on her face as the short locs on her head stood on end.

The sunset looked different from this angle, beautiful and familiar, and it brought back good memories.

Some which included her sisters, some her parents, but the majority of which surrounded her little underground nook.

The one she had built by herself, where she would spend hours on end reading, escaping reality.

The honk from the car behind them pulled her out of her reverie.

Thus, she looked outside again, knowing they were close to the Morales house.

"You can roll the window back up!", Isabella said again as the driver did just as she said.

She looked back, seeing the van that had been following them for hours now.
The same one which had tailed them since they left the mansion.

'Maybe he meant what he said about protecting Sophia!', Isabella thought as she rolled her eyes.

She started cleaning up, knowing they would be at the house soon.

"Did you do anything?", Mrs Morales asked as she entered her husband's office.

One of her daughter's had only just been telling her that familiar vehicles had driven in.

"What do you mean?!", Mr Morales asked back, confused.

"The Don!
Did you do anything?
We already paid him back!
Right?!", Mrs Morales answered with more questions as she didn't understand what was going on.

"We did!
You were there everytime we paid back!!!", Mr Morales said, getting up from his desk and heading towards the closest window.

"But we...
We already...!", Mr Morales drawled as he hurried back to his desk to try to find his phone.

He had had a conversation with Andreas and they had been cleared, he wanted to confirm.

His eyes couldn't be playing tricks with him!

They sincerely wanted no more trouble with Luciano.

"Now is not the time for your phone!
Go outside and meet him there!
We don't want him getting angry!", Mrs Morales said as she practically hurled her husband out of his office.

Like his wife had suggested, he did await Luciano's condescending presence as he watched the vans come to a stop.

Already fidgeting from how nervous he was, he could hear how his wife tried to get the rest of his daughters to go up to their rooms.

He rubbed his neck, where Luciano had strangled him the last time he came to their abode.

However, what happened next shocked Isabella's father to the core.

The driver had helped someone else open the door.

Someone...
A lady!

'The short hair seems quite like...!', Mr Morales drawled as he recognized who alighted from the van.

"Isabella!", he started in a lower tone to confirm who he saw.

"Isabella!", he called out again, his voice much louder. Loud enough to attract Mrs Morales' attention.

"Isabella!", he called out for the last time before running towards his daughter.

"Father!", Isabella squealed happily as she ran towards her father in equal fervor.

"You...!", he drawled as he released her from his hold to take a good look at his daughter.

"Mia figlia!?!?", Mrs Morales called out, her voice shaky as she walked out of the house.

Hearing her husband call out the name of the daughter she never thought she would see again, she didn't care if Luciano was present.

"Mia figlia!", she called out again as she saw Isabella alive and well, in the arms of her father.

She quickly ran towards her daughter to the best of her ability.

With all the might she mustered.

She held her daughter in her arms for the first time in over three years.

Isabella wrapped both her parents in a hug.

Really!

It was great to meet them again.

However, from the corner of her eye, she saw the surprise she kept for later trying to alight the van herself.

"Non pensarci nemmeno!", Isabella squealed as she hurried to her daughter who displayed a sheepish smile.

'the nerve of this girl!', Isabella thought as she heard footsteps behind her.

"Madre, padre, vi presento Sophia. Mia figlia con Luciano!", Isabella said.

She had simply said it how it was, all the practicing in the car amounted to nothing as she simply decided to tell them the truth.

Her daughter might not have resulted how she wanted, but her daughter was not a disgrace.

"How?
Come è successo?", Mrs Morales asked.

"We'll talk about that later!
You should come in and get some rest first!
It takes quite a while to ride from Milan to Tuscany!", Mr Morales said.

The child was Luciano's afterall, the green eyes and the midnight black hair gave that away.

What he didn't know is how he felt about the girl.

He did know the trip from Milan to Tuscany took a while, this, it would be best to rest first.

They could talk about anything else later.

Deciding not to press on the issue any further, they watched as Isabella carried her child in her arms and walked behind them.

"I'll make a really nice meal for you and ummm...!", Mrs Morales drawled as she tried to remember the girls name.

"Sophia!", Isabella said.

"Yes Sophia!
What would you like?!", Mrs Morales asked.

"Anything would be fine really.
I've just really missed your meals!", Isabella said, a smile on her face as she remembered how hearty the meals her mother made used to be.

She hoped it hadn't changed.

Isabella noticed how hostile they quickly became as she told them about Sophia.

It was evident enough as her daughter reached for her mother, but she pretended not to see.

Isabella's attention was quickly diverted as she sighted her youngest sister who was rather happy to see her.
