Chapter 107 The Search Continues
"...What do you decide?!", Andreas asked, looking at Luciano as he faced the floor to ceiling window in his office.
"I won't be granting them an audience!", Luciano answered.
The Morales had been brave enough to request an appointment since they were done paying off their debt.
However, Luciano had no answer for them because their daughter had fled from his mansion.
"But...!", Andreas tried to refute as Luciano didn't give the answer he expected, it was strange to see him backing down.
"No buts!
You of all people know that she ran away a long time ago!", Luciano said, as he walked back to the office chair, a glass of whiskey in hand.
"So what should I tell them then?!", Andreas asked as he watched Luciano.
The man had gone silent, his eyes closed as he thought of an answer.
"You'll tell them that I won't be in the country for a month or two! I'll grant them an audience when I am back!", Luciano replied.
"Okay!
Are you going to start looking for her all over again?!", Andreas asked, wondering what was going on with The Don.
He might have just been right the whole time.
"I will!
I was too consumed with work to follow up on her search...
I wonder what she's doing at the moment...!", Luciano drawled as his eyes fluttered open.
"Tell them that!", he said in finality as he took a sip from his glass.
"Yes Don!", Andreas said as he turned to take his leave.
"We'll be going to see Mr Luca later tonight at the club a few blocks away. Be ready in an hour!", Luciano said again, stopping Andreas in his tracks.
"Yes Don!", Andreas repeated as he left the office.
Luciano would have never thought there would come a day he would act so weird because of a woman.
One he had crossed in less favorable conditions.
He had shifted most of his attention back to his work as he saw the search for her was futile.
That didn't mean he didn't think of her long black hair, or how flushed she looked the night she helped him to his room.
He stood up and approached his table, sending a quick text message to the private investigator he had hired a few months before.
Because of how futile the search in Italy was, The investigator had started with other countries in Europe.
How berserk they both will be to later find out she had been right under their noses the whole time.
He slipped the phone back into his pocket as he slowly strode to the floor to ceiling windows.
He had always liked to look at beautiful views, however, none could beat Isabella's beauty. None could match her in his eyes.
Andreas came back precisely after an hour.
He had already put on his suit jacket, thus, he was ready.
Luciano wasted no time and they quickly arrived at the club.
As Luciano went on with his meeting, Andreas gave orders for His security detail to canvass the vicinity for any threats, potential or imminent.
Andreas did grimace when he saw the amount of liquor Mr Luca and Luciano were having.
The man sure could hold his alcohol, but he still would get tipsy at that rate.
"...One second!", Mr Luca said as he quickly brought out his phone to see who had texted him.
"Ahhhh! I hate to be bad company sir, but my attention is needed!", Mr Luca said, seeing the message.
"You don't need to apologize! We finalized the deal a while ago.
We can continue the celebration some other time!", Luciano said as he watched Mr Luca put his jacket back on.
"Very well sir! We will continue later!", Mr Luca said as he stood up to shake Luciano's hand.
Seeing the guests stand up and shake hands, the waitress trained to read the guest's expression entered the room with her colleagues to clean up the room.
She quickly held Luciano's attention as her side profile looked like someone he knew, someone he wanted to see so badly.
"Isabella?!", Luciano questioned as the lady didn't answer.
Afterall, it wasn't her name.
"Do you want some company later Don!?", Mr Luca asked as he saw the lady had captured Luciano's attention.
"Don!", Andreas called out, seeing that Luciano might be mistaking the waitress for Isabella.
Andreas just knew Luciano was tipsy.
"I could have a word with the owner, to give you better company for the night. These are their waitresses!", Mr Luca said, thinking he knew what Luciano wanted.
"Isabella!", Luciano called out again, his eyebrows furrowed as he wondered why Isabella wasn't answering his call.
"That's not Isabella!", Andreas said as he came to stand beside Luciano.
He could smell the liquor on his breath, he might have had too much.
He seemed to have his answer when the waitress in question, stopped and looked back because of the commotion in the room.
"Do you need anything sir!?!", The waitress asked as she held the napkin in her hand.
"He might need company later...!", Mr Luca started as he intended to arrange something good for The Don.
"There'll be no need for that!", Luciano said as he turned to grab his suit jacket.
"If that'll be all! We'll be on our way then!", He continued as the men shook hands again.
Quite tipsy, he managed to leave the lounge without staggering.
"They looked so similar!", Luciano said after he took a few gulps in the car that drove him back to the mansion.
"You would think they're twins!", Andreas said.
"Reinstate the operation.
Make it discreet!
Dispatch twenty of our best men!", Luciano said.
"To Italy? Or the whole of Europe?!", Andreas asked.
"The whole of Europe!", Luciano answered.
The private investigator he hired wouldn't mind if he assigned more men.
Where could you possibly be my little bird, Luciano thought as he rested his head and closed his eyes.
The happiness he felt earlier...
Regardless, the search continues.
