Chapter 61 We're running late
CArianna's POV
It was two days after my attack, I was in my room putting on my dress for the new company's conference. This was the D-Day, the moment I've been waiting for. However, I was tensed. Oh yeah, we found nothing about the attacker's identity. They still remained a mystery. That was something I was puzzled about, but Ravyen claims he had it all handled and there was really no need stressing myself to think about the perpetrators.
With my two super heroes beside me, I just had to keep my mind at rest. I struggled to put on my dress's zipper as it seemed to be difficult. Kylian kept nagging at me to be quick, but didn't offer to help. How I missed Rayven's presence. He'd assist, but Kylian? Argh, he claims to care, but doesn't help with irrelevant things. If only Ravyen wasn't at the conference waiting for my arrival, he would have been here with me.
"Ugh!" I sighed as I finally drew the zipper to close my opened dress. Gosh! I hadn't even picked a shoe yet. I bit my fingers and stared at my shoes on the counter. They were numerous, and it was so difficult for me to pick the right one.
Kylian glared at me as he pressured me to be quick. It seemed as though it were his inauguration, not mine and Ravyen's. You must have noticed, I'm bad at picking out my own outfit, and to be sincere, Ravyen does the picking. My brother chose this dress I'm putting on. He left me alone the minute I asked him for another favor, my zipper.
I rolled my eyes and picked a purple shoe when clearly I was wearing a black dress. I left my hair shabby and took a little purse before walking out of the room. Well, I just didn't care. I dashed out of the room like a model on fashion display. Glaring left and right, I felt I was perfect.
I paused as soon as I sighted Kylian frowning at me. His eyes were strictly on my hair and shoes. "You can't follow me with that," he stated and walked into my room. I smiled as I knew he expected me to follow suit. To be honest, I did that on purpose. The hair thing, I mean.
"I won't wait all day!" he yelled from the room. I rolled my eyes and hastened my footsteps into the room. He pulled out my makeup seat and tapped it with his hands. I rolled my eyes and walked to sit down. I wonder if he could really dress a person's hair. I mean, his own hair never looks kept. Between us, I'd say I was better at dressing compared to him.
I gulped, and he began combing my hair with his hands. Shouldn't he be using a comb for that? He began twirling part of my hair and held it up with a pin. He made a twirl with another part and held it again. I placed my hand on my cheek and let him do his thing. It's not like I would have done any better myself.
He was done in a minute. OMG! I didn't expect my hair to look so good. I kept blushing at the mirror when he suddenly flung a pair of shoes on the floor and instructed that I put it on. They were blue with a blue handbag to match with it. He left my room afterwards to wait for me in the car.
I bent low to put on my shoes when I suddenly got a message on my screen. My phone was just an inch from me, on the table. I took hold of my phone and swiped it open. The message was from an unknown source. It was precisely a video message. It got me curious, and the first thought that rang in my head was perhaps this was more evidence about Ivan.
I was eager to play it as the sender wasn't certain to me. The video had an image of Rayven. It was part of what attracted me the most. I was nervous, if perhaps it were his speech at the launching. I played the video and began watching Rayven's actions in it.
I was shocked and almost couldn't believe my eyes. I stuttered back, petrified and totally abashed. His gaze, his motions, and smiles. He seemed okay with what he was doing, as though it was normal of him. The video had Rayven shooting bullets at innocent civilians. He made a flip with his gun and continued shooting at them while they begged for their lives.
I placed my hand upon my lips to prevent myself from exclaiming out loud, as it would draw attention. I frozed with my phone slipping from my hand and hitting the ground. I staggered backwards and struggled to balance my step.
"Rayven" I muttered his name and stumbled upon my makeup table.
"Arianna!" Kylian yelled for me to join him. I was speechless, fluttering my eyes and trying to control my heartbeat.
I stared at my image at the mirror before me. My eyes were red and I curl inside my heart.
This couldn't be true, I needed to head to the launching ground and pretend this was an illusion and none of this was real.
I quickly put on my shoes, took my phone and dashed out immediately to avoid keeping Kylian waiting.
I tried my best to keep a calm expression to prevent Kylian from suspecting a thing. He sighs and suddenly smiled mischievously at me.
That was his way of complimenting but I shun him. I was shattered at heart as the images of the video keeps tampering with my thoughts.
I catwalked towards the car with my both hands holding the purse firmly forward.
He got the car door open for me while I got into the car.
"You spent 30 minutes putting on a shoe. How hard can it be?" He complained squinting his eyes at me.
I kept mute and fastened my seatbelt while he suddenly stared surprisingly.
"We are running late!" I beckoned to him and he ducked his head at me.
I rested my head on the seat and shut my eyes, not wanting to hear or listen to any sound except the rumbling sound of the vehicle.
