Chapter 32 It all in the file
Chapter 32: Arianna's POV
I stretched my plate to him, that he should join me.
He nodded his head negatively, rejecting to eat food and looks away.
I redrew my plate and continued my meal.
I saw the look on his face, he was definitely expecting me to perform the action again.
His stomach alerted him of his wrong decision once more.
In a blink of an eye, he was at a close range.
I could almost feel his breath over mine. I bent slightly to avoid contact.
But he held me back thinking I was going to fall.
There was a cheese in my fork lifted up as my hand made to balance his catch.
He drew his mouth to my fork and grabbed the cheese.
I struggled out of his grip and almost fell for real this time.
I grabbed his shirt and we both fell together.
Gosh! I felt his heavy body over me, I thought my back was broken.
He couldn't even be a man and stand firmly as a supporter and yet he boasts to me that he does everything.
His eyes scanned at mine and I could see him staring lustfully.
"Get off me!" I yelled as his body was relaxed on mine.
"Oh! I'm sorry" he apologized to me and stood up immediately.
He has been apologizing to me ever since he got to the kitchen.
He made me feel right ever since. Could he be really hurt from our last argument.
I know I was at fault anyways but apologizing was against my agenda.
He stretched forth his hand and lifted me up with a single pull.
I collected part of my hair to the back and smiled warmly.
"Uh um!" I alerted him once more for the files.
"Yes, yes. Great news!" He said to me with great excitement.
"Your mother's killer! It's all in the file " he informed.
"Why didn't you tell me about this since" I fumed while I swelled like a bubble.
His eyes were suddenly restless.
"Where is the envelope?" My question had frightened him to shiver.
"What is wrong?" I asked as he was speechless.
My nose began to sniff something burning.
What could it be? I questioned myself.
I f I'mollowed his gaze and the envelope being set ablaze.
We tried to save it but only a piece of it was left.
Oh my goodness! I exclaimed as the precious evidence was destroyed.
"You couldn't it protect a useful asset for the first time!" I began nagging at him.
I was pissed off on his careless attitude and didn't realize the kitchen itself was burning gradually.
He tried to inform me about what was going on, but I wasn't willing to listen.
"Ah!" I yelled once again and ran to get some water.
He assisted me and we both put the fire out.
I took out a jar of water from the fridge and emptied it in the burning flames.
Ravyen arrived with a cup of water just when I have put the fire out.
Tears clouded my eyes as I was pained. Not again! What's with him and burning things? Or was this kitchen cursed and only resurges it's power whenever ravyen appears?
I left the kitchen immediately and didn't say a word further to prevent crying out openly.
Ravyen observed one more time to see that the fire was properly put out.
He stuck some cookies into his mouth quickly and drank a full cup of smoothie before dashing out of the kitchen.
He ran after me immediately with the surviving piece of files.
I had locked myself in my room while he came banging on the door.
"Go away Ravyen!" the words slipped out of my mouth and I released them harshly.
"Open the door Arianna!" he commanded me.
"No!" I yelled and wiped my eyes to wear of tears.
I couldn't believe he let the most precious thing to me destroy.
He knew getting vengeance for my mom was everything that matters now and yet he screwed that up by letting the flames consume it.
And here I was getting over our disagreement before.
I couldn't say it was entirely his fault because I dragged him down along with me.
Although I wasn't expecting him to fall too.
Okay I was entirely at fault for not putting out the burner, but he should have just passed the envelope in the first place.
He knocked gently on the door suddenly. Seriously, that's enough to keep me calm. He was very annoying and I just don't know what to do to him. I tried to keep still and not freak out but it wasn't working.
"Believe me, you would want to hear what I have to say" he spoke behind the door. His voice sonorous and welcoming.
I wonder what he has to say that will make me feel better?
Maybe I should hear him out again. Because I'm not sure I can survive another argument with him. I thought to myself.
I crawled out of my bed sluggishly and made a walk to the door. I push my face forward, didn't some demonstration with my hands to not yell at him.
I suspended my hand on the doorknob and took a deep breath before opening the door.
He almost fell in because he was leaning on the door but sustained his balance and held back.
I left the door open and went back to cuddle myself on the bed.
He moved gently towards me and dropped the remaining piece of paper on my bed.
"I saw the culprit's name" he confessed with soft words and pulled my attention once more.
I jerked up as soon as I heard his words.
There were very much convincing, all hope wasn't lost.
I felt a moment of relief deep inside me.
All of a sudden, I wasn't angry anymore.
My face made a blush while I kept innocently.
"I overreacted didn't I?" I questioned the man standing before me.
"No, you did what was right. It's your mother who was murdered, I expected nothing less".
His words were so real and encouraging.
How I wish mother and I were in good terms before she died. I wouldn't have entirely guilty for her death perhaps.
"Who murdered my mother?" I asked with my eyes probing at him. My heart skips hard as I wondered the name that he'd spill from his lips.
He was making me thrilled and restless and we both stared at each other.
