Chapter 54 Tell Me To Stop

Chapter 54 Tell Me To Stop

Evelyn’s POV

“Evelyn,” he murmured, stepping closer. “This is not the time to act stubborn. Don’t make me regret ever agreeing to you starting your work again.”

He moved another inch closer. “I don’t understand what is it that you want, ever since I took you in I have only tried everything possible to please you, make you happy in a way that I could, but no matter how hard I try you always prove to me that it is not enough.”

“Then stop trying. Just free me, leave my life alone!” I said, voice steadier than I felt.

He stopped inches from me.

Close enough that the room felt too small for the two of us.

His hand crossed around my waist pulling me closer to his temple, our eyes locked for a moment.

“I wish I could fulfill that request for you, but it is harder than you think.” He leaned over to my ear. “Stop thinking high of yourself Eve, I wouldn’t have kept you if you hadn’t taken the one thing that is most important to me in my entire existence.”

“Now. I have to fight you every single moment just to keep you safe,” he breathed, his thumb brushing softly on my chin.

My lashes fluttered helplessly, reacting to the way his closeness wrapped around my skin. “Lorenzo….” I murmured, fighting the heat crawling through my skin.

“Don’t start here. This is a hospital….” He scoffed, pressing his body against mine. “There are rules here.”

A low, taunting chuckle slipped from him. “Come off it, girl. I don’t follow rules and you know that.”

He nuzzled along my neckline, and my head tilted back betraying every urge screaming at me to push him away.

I tried to retreat, inching backward, desperate for space. The more I tried to step back, the more he closed the distance until my back slammed against the cold wall with a harsh, punishing thud that stole my breath.

His breath fanned my throat, and in that moment, I couldn’t tell if the chill in my bones came from the wall or from him. It was as if this should continue. I need him right now. The memories of last night came back to me the moment my gaze landed at his mouth.

That particular tongue that shattered my being. I want to feel it again.

God. This is madness, how could I be lusting over him when I know that anyone can just enter here any moment.

Eve. Get yourself together.

I tried to slip away but Lorenzo caught me quickly, wrapping me together with the wall, a mischievous smile lingering in his face as leaned over to my face.

“You are shaking, baby.” He brushed the tip of his nose on my lips, then yanked my hand above my head. “I know you want me to take you here, but your pride wouldn’t let you say so.”

I squinted my eyes in irritation. “What? No…I don’t.”

He shaked his head, twisted my wrist together, pinning them against the walls, and crashed his mouth against mine without permission.

I didn’t push him away, I thought I could. I mean I tried. But I was too weak to let him go.

My chest rose and fell, my breast straining against my dress. He pulled away for a while, breathing shakily, he scanned my face and kissed me again. Hungrier, possessive and rough.

My hand moved low but he didn’t release his grip. I kissed him back like a kid that has been starving of breast milk. “Fuck. Lorenzo….” I moaned into his mouth.

“Shhh.” He silenced me with another kiss, rough, consuming, his mouth dragging against mine and then lower, sucking deep into the hollow of my throat until my breath broke apart.

He finally pulled back, our breaths tangling in the thin space between us, his eyes burning with something I couldn’t name but felt everywhere on my skin.

His thumb traced my jaw, slow… almost..... tender, but the darkness in his gaze stole any comfort it should’ve given.

“This is what I’m saying,” he murmured, his voice low enough to crawl straight down my spine. “You couldn’t even stop me. You want me badly, Eve.”

“No. I don’t.” I shook my head in disagreement even though the word came out tiny to be believable.

His hand moved beneath my dress, eyes still fixed on me daring me to prove him wrong.

“Oh…shawty. You can keep lying all you want.” He yanked me off the ground, pulling my dress above my waist. “But I already know what I need to know.”

My eyes roamed against his, breathing quickly until all I could think was having him down my clit.

Lorenzo’s grip tightened on my waist, pulling me flush against him in a way that stole the air from my lungs. A soft, helpless sound escaped my throat before I could swallow it down.

He lowered his face to my skin, burying himself against my thigh, his breath hovered around me sparking awake my pulse. My body coiled, my heart beat too fast.

“You can’t run from this,” he murmured against my skin, voice rough, unsteady, and far more dangerous than his touch. “Never.”

He leaned closer until his face was a few inches from my core. His hands slid to my panties, throwing me up for a better balance and then I felt his fingers there.

My body tingled, and I bit my lip too tight holding back any sound that threatened to slip out.

Lorenzo brushed my soaked lacy panties with his thumb, growling too deep before pulling away just enough to find my face.

A little smirk lingered at the curve of his lip, sharp and knowing. “My little human….You are already dripping wet for me.”

I forced my eyes open, fighting the haze clouding my thoughts. He widened my legs, drinking in the view of my heat, dark, unblinking, hungry in a way that had nothing to do with flesh and everything that had to do with control.

He teased me with his middle finger, tracing slow, maddening circles against my clit, sending shivers across my entire body.

“Fuck…..Lorenzo…..” I gasped, clutching his arms for support as my knees threatened to give out.

His stood up, dragging me closer, his breath harsh against my ear.

“That’s it,” he murmured, voice low and sinful. “Say my name like that again.”

I felt his control wrap around me, dark, consuming, pulling every sound, every reaction straight out of me whether I wanted to give it or not.

“Tell me to stop,” he said, his breath warm against my ear. “Say the words.”

But he already knew I couldn’t.

He felt me shaking, my pulse, my weakness, everything, before he could go for another thrust with his fingers the door flew open and Elena badged in.

Her entire body froze in the doorway, eyes blown wide. “Ugh…. Eve…..”

I jerked away from Lorenzo instantly, shoving my dress back into place like it could erase what she just saw. “Elena.”

She blinked rapidly, her head darting left and right as if she’d walked into a crime scene and couldn’t find the right words. “My shift is over. I just thought to come tell you.”

“Uhm… yeah, same here… I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Her gaze flicked between Lorenzo and me, confusion, suspicion, something else, before she finally turned and slipped out holding back every words that I believed she wanted to pour out. The door closed, and the silence dropped heavy and sharp.

Lorenzo didn’t move at first. He just stood there, dangerously close, the slow spread of a wicked smile crawling across his face. His chest rose with a deep inhale, shoulders squared as though he was resisting the urge to drag me right back into him.

“Safe to say we’re done here?” he asked.

“No.” I cut in immediately, more panicked than I intended.

He tilted his head, the smile fading into a puzzled frown. “Really? You just told her you were done for the day.”

“No… yes… I mean…..”

The truth clawed at my throat, how could I tell him I still planned to sneak out and see Daisy?

My silence gave me away. I stared at the floor, heat flooding my face.

Lorenzo’s shadow shifted. He stepped closer, slow, controlled until his presence swallowed the space around me. His breath rested near my cheek, closer than I wanted, close enough to feel the warning in it.

“We need to leave,” he said, voice low. “Now.”

Before I could lift my head, his fingers wrapped around my wrist firmly, possessive and he was already guiding me toward the exit.
