Chapter 12 Finding Solution
Evelyn’s POV
We were now in a smaller room, darker than any other place I had seen since I came here. Emiliana sat on a low stool across from us, while I sat beside Lorenzo, both of us facing her with full attention, waiting to know what would come next. The rough mat bit into my skin, adding to my discomfort.
Emiliana shut her eyes tight and whispered words in a language that seemed to vibrate through my bones. When she opened them again, her gaze moved between Lorenzo and me.
“The ritual cannot be performed with force,” she said, her eyes now fixed on mine. “It must be done through resonance, energy freely surrendered, not taken.”
Lorenzo straightened, his tone sharp. “You can proceed. She won’t resist.”
Emiliana shook her head. “No, that’s not how it works.” She rose slowly, her movements deliberate. “If she gives permission, I will consult the gods first. That will reveal the cause and know what kind of ritual we must perform.”
Lorenzo leaned forward, his piercing gaze on me. “So tell us, Evelyn. Are you ready?”
The way he asked it. Too easy for him. Like if I had said no, he would ever take it that way.
I gave a tiny nod.
He didn’t care if it was genuine or just an act of surrender.
“Then let’s get it done,” he said curtly.
Emiliana gestured toward me. “Come forward.”
I hesitated, frozen in place, unsure if she meant me.
“Evelyn!” Her voice cracked through the air like thunder.
I flinched, glancing from Lorenzo to her, fidgeting under both their stares.
“I’m talking to you,” she added firmly.
My voice trembled. “Me?” I pointed at my chest.
Lorenzo hissed. “Get your ass up and move forward.”
My breathing quickened. I felt as though the ground might open and swallow me whole. The thought of what she might do to me made my body weak.
Still, with what little strength I had left, I rose and stepped toward Emiliana.
In the center of the room, a circle of candles flickered. A silver chalice stood in the middle, its surface reflecting light that seemed alive, swirling and restless.
“Don’t be afraid,” Emiliana said firmly. “The part of him that your touch awakened will answer soon. It will decide whether to return what was taken or bind it to you forever.”
Her words struck deep.
“But first, I must understand what part of him that you touched?”
My body froze. My mind scrambled for words.
Am I supposed to tell her? Would that even help anything? Why can’t she get this done so we can be out of here already.
“I understand this is difficult,” she said, her tone softening. “But I advise you to cooperate. Lucifer can go to any limit to get what he wants, even if it means wiping you from the surface of the earth.”
A cold lump formed in my stomach. My pulse pounded in my ears.
“Answer the Goddamn question,” Lorenzo barked.
“…..his, cock!” The words dragged out from my tongue tasting bitter, with my eyes shut.
Emiliana’s eyes widened slightly, confusion flashing across her features.
“No, no, no, it’s not what you think,” I tried to explain quickly, but she raised a hand to silence me.
“You don’t need to explain,” she said calmly, then turned toward Lorenzo. “I’m only surprised, because I was aware of his….. inability to connect physically.”
My brows furrowed. She knew that too?
Emeliana went quiet for a moment, then said, “Wait.”
Her head turned toward the darkest corner of the room as if she heard something only she could perceive.
When she faced me again, her eyes were different. Darker. Heavier.
She stepped closer.
Then another step.
Her movements were silent, predatory.
When she reached me, she didn’t speak. She simply inhaled deeply, like she was trying to read my very essence.
Finally, she spoke softly. “Step into the circle.”
I hesitated but obeyed. The air thickened around me as if an unseen force had awakened.
I dragged one foot forward, then another, each step slow, unsteady, as if the atmosphere itself resisted me. My body no longer felt like mine. It was being pulled, guided by something I couldn’t see. And before I realized it, I was standing in the center of the circle.
Then, suddenly the candles ignited with a sharp flame.
“Ah!” I gasped, stumbling back in shock.
“Stay still!” Lorenzo’s voice thundered from behind me.
I stood stiff, body trembling that I thought I might disappear the next minute. Every part of me vibrating with fear. My lips moved in silent prayer, asking for divine help.
Emeliana approached me. She didn’t touch me, but circled me slowly as she chanted in that strange tongue again. Her voice grew deeper, echoing off the walls as though a hundred unseen spirits joined in.
The air thickened. The ground seemed to hum. My body felt weightless.
A heavy wind with no source circled me, slow and reverent. It was as if the world was spinning, dizziness struck me and I almost gave up.
Then Emiliana stopped. Her head tilted slightly, as if listening to something beyond human hearing. Her expression shifted, from curiosity to something like dread.
“This….. this isn’t simple,” she murmured. Then turned to Lorenzo.
“There’s something about her I’ve never encountered before.”
Lorenzo stepped forward, his tone sharp. “What do you mean?”
Emiliana went silent again, her gaze distant. When she finally spoke, her voice was calm, but heavy.
“The night she touched you was also the night of the full moon.”
Lorenzo frowned.
I felt my knees weaken.
“That wasn’t a coincidence,” Emiliana continued. “The moon didn’t just appear, it answered. And in that moment, it pulled something from you, something that should have remained bound.”
My heart pounded violently.
“So what do we do now?” Lorenzo snapped.
“We wait,” Emiliana said simply. “The next full moon will reveal the truth. Only then can we perform the ritual.”
“What?!” Lorenzo and I exclaimed at once.
He took a step toward her, frustration flaring in his voice. “That can’t be possible! You expect me to live an entire year without my powers? I’ll turn mortal before then!”
Emiliana’s tone stayed calm. “There’s nothing more I can do for now. We must first understand what she truly is.” She turned her eyes to me. “Because this woman is not just ordinary.”
My mouth fell open.
Not ordinary? What was that supposed to mean?
This is my first time hearing this and at this moment I think they are both going nuts.
“But there is one temporary way for you to use your powers,” Emiliana continued.
Lorenzo’s eyes flickered. “How?”
Her expression turned grave. “You’ll only be able to use them when she touches you again.” She went silent for a minute. “At the same spot where it all began.”
My eyes widened. “What?”
They both turned toward me.
“No,” I said sharply. “Never again.”
Lorenzo’s jaw tightened, fury flashing through his eyes, but I stood my ground.
“Over my dead body,” I said, voice trembling but steady. “I’m never going to touch his cock again.”
