Chapter 18 CHAPTER 018
“I know what you are,”
Soren stares at the message on his phone screen with a bloodshot gaze. He immediately deletes it, but there are more and even more messages stating the same time; they know his secret.
There’s an address too, where they want to meet Soren, and the location is one he has gone to countless times: the underground ring. And the messages are from the big boss himself.
Once again, Soren deletes the message and shoves the phone into his pocket. He runs his fingers through his hair as he paces around the room; so many thoughts run through his head.
He has always been careful back in the underground with Theo at his back. He was never that careless to have let anyone, especially the big boss, find out his secret unless he was bluffing simply to get Soren’s attention, because it is fucking working.
If the Big Boss knows, it won’t stay a secret because the underground doesn’t keep secrets; they sell them. His secret could be sold to Reign. Soren gulps at the thought.
He has to go out there and find out for himself, but how does he sneak past all of Reign’s guards, who are all alphas?

Soren doesn’t know how he did it, but he got past the guards; perhaps survival instinct just kicks in when your life is on the line. It will take a while before all of those guards notice he's gone when Reign isn’t even home.
By the time he arrives at the basement, the sky has already darkened. He doesn’t knock as he barges in, immediately finding the big boss behind his desk. Soren takes off his hoodie, red hair falling out as he eyes a hole through the alpha's face, who looks like he has hit the jackpot as he wears a wide grin and a sparkle in his eyes.
“Fox, I was wondering when you were going to show, but then again, I had my doubts, but now that you’re here, it’s been confirmed." he gets up from his seat and approaches Soren. His eyes dance over his body before he smirks as he meets his eyes. “Who would have thought the tough Beta is actually an omega underneath all that skin?" he chuckles when he sees the way Soren’s eyes darken.
"How did you find out?” Soren hides the rage suddenly storming inside of him from his voice. He shouldn’t have come here. He shouldn't have panicked.
The alpha boss shrugs his shoulders as he circles Soren, studying every part of him as if he still can’t believe what’s in front of him. “I have my ways. Tell me, how did you do it? How did you convince everyone that you're a Beta?” He inquires, stopping in front of Soren again. Then he reaches for his face, but Soren grabs his wrist and roughly pushes him back, and he stumbles against his desk.
“Don’t touch me,” Soren barks, but the big boss laughs.
“You think you are so tough now that you are engaged to Reign.”
Soren’s jaw clenches. He’s wasting his time here. Without a word, he turns to leave, but then the alpha speaks again.
“He doesn’t know you’re an omega, does he? That’s why you’re here, because you were afraid I'm going to tell him?”
Soren freezes at the door as the words ring in his ears loud and clear. Just days ago, he was blackmailed by his own mother, and now he’s being blackmailed because of the same secret. His hands ball into fists, and a dark laugh rips out of his throat as he slowly turns back to the alpha with dark, bloodshot eyes. He tilts his head. “What do you want?”
It's always the question they want him to ask, so they can trap him with no way out.
The alpha immediately breaks into a grin as if he has hit the bigger jackpot. He crowds Soren again, a look of lust flashing in his eyes as his eyes dance over Soren’s body again. “What I want from you is simple, Fox. A couple alphas and I have always been attracted to what you are, so as long as you are willing to satisfy us for just one night, I'll protect your secret with my life.”
Soren sees red. In a snap, he loses his cool and reaches the alpha in an instant, grabbing him by the front of his shirt and pinning him to the table, seconds away from strangling him to death as his eyes turn murderous.
“You think I am that desperate to have you disgusting alphas touch me?” Soren laughs darkly. His hand moves from the alpha’s shirt to grab his throat, cutting his air supply. “Perhaps I should kill you here and now; my secret will die with you. What do you think?”
The big boss coughs on nothing, his face slightly turning purple. “You can’t kill me, Soren. My men won’t let you out of here alive, and even if you do, you and your sister won’t live long."
His sister. His secret. Seems like everyone knows his weak points more than Soren knows them. In anger, his fist slams into the alpha’s jaw before he nails him between his legs, letting him drop to the floor, grunting in pain.
Soren runs his hands through his hair, his chest rising and falling hard as he tries to steady the storm inside him. Fuck.
The Big Boss coughs on the floor, clutching his throat with one hand and himself with the other, wheezing through the pain, but still, he laughs, blood on his tongue from Soren’s hard punch and his eyes glinting with madness.
“You see?” he rasps. “You’re emotional. That’s the omega in you. No matter how strong you think you are, you will always be an omega, and do you know where omegas like you belong? In Alpha's bed. You will forever be nothing but a whore; no suppressant can change that.”
Soren thinks he’s going to kill him if he stays there any longer. He needs to get out of here. With that thought in mind, he turns to leave, swinging the door open, but abruptly comes to a stop as he comes face to face with three bulky alphas, all of whom he has once fought in the ring. If he can take them, then he can take them out now.
“Get out of my way,” he commands lowly, eyes as cold as steel.
“You aren’t going anywhere, Princess. You’ll have to go through us.”
“If I can beat you once, I can do it again,” he grits through his teeth, but then Soren feels a presence behind him, causing him to turn just in time as the needle of a syringe pierces his neck and its contents flow through his body.
In an instant, Soren’s vision blurs, and every muscle in his body goes weak as he drops to his knees, and then everything goes blank.
