Chapter 73: Chapter Seventy-Three

**!!Authors Note: Hey everyone, I'm considering writing a new book, a full erotica. Filled with the types of scenes you saw between Sam and Valerie, and wanted to know how many of my readers would be interested in something like that? It will still have a story line, and still have a romanic development, but I'm curious if any of my readers would be interested in something like that. Please let me know in the comments!! "What the hell do you mean?" I gasped out, searching every inch of his beautiful eyes for a hint of amusement, something to tell me this was some sort of cruel joke but found nothing to alleviate the growing sense of panic I felt. 'He cannot be serious! Leaving him like this could quite literally drive him insane, and cause him to lose it.'

"I think I should stay like this until our child is born," Damien said once again, but louder this time, as if I couldn't hear him the first time. With the way he said it, I couldn't tell who he was trying to convince of this; me, or himself.

"We can't leave you like this, Damien. You're barely hanging on as it is. Or did you forget that you almost went innate on Valerie?" Damien looked taken aback as I said this, his eyes flickering for a moment in surprise and thoughtfulness. "What if our kid is born as you said? In pain and wishing for death, because you refused to do this, to stop what was happening? How could you live with yourself?" I added quickly, hoping to get through to him before he could try to debate me. 'Maybe I can convince him of what an idiot he's being before he has the chance to convince me of anything else.'

"I understand what you are trying to do, kitten. But think about the other side of this, I would be robbing our child of their natural abilities."

I leaned closer to him, putting my hands on his shoulder, stopping only once our noses were only a moment from touching. I glared into his electric eyes, trying to match the intensity of his voice as I spoke. "The only thing you would be robbing our child of; is their father," I said with a venomous snarl, surprising even myself with the intensity and hatred I heard when I spoke.

He visibly took a double-take at what I said, taking a moment to consider this before he responded. "How would I be robbing our child of me? It won't kill me, Bast."

"Oh, you think I'd stay with a man that could snap at any given time and kill me?" I asked incredulously, feigning a shocked laugh. 'You clearly have the wrong idea of who I am, Lucifer.' The voice in my head said mockingly.

"You are with a vampire, Bastet. Have you considered that even with full control of myself, I could snap and kill you?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow as his eyes turned blood-red, obviously trying to scare me into backing down.

I snorted trying to keep myself from actually laughing, undeterred by his efforts as I remained where I was, less than an inch from his face, meeting his eyes with my own, unblinking in my resolve. We remained like this for a while, both of us refusing to back off, neither one of us willing to give in to the other. The only way to describe what happened next was a culmination of hatred, anger, and frenzied lust. Damien lunged forward with a wrathful snarl, pinning me down against the couch, his lips crashing into mine as if it was the only thing he could do to stop himself from ripping me to shreds.

"Dam-" I started to say but was cut off by my indignant scream as I shoved against him, catching him by surprise as he released me and took a step back. I looked up at his still red eyes, trying to contain the utmost unfiltered desire I felt. I wanted nothing more than to lunge at him and tear off his clothes, taking out my anger through the only way I knew how to with him.

"Do it." He snarled, his eyes locking onto mine with a knowing glint, his lips curling back into a blasphemously distorted smile as he crouched down, waiting as if a predator stalking its prey.

"Stop. Doing. That." I struggled out through gritted teeth as I stood and closed the difference between us, looking up at him with a growl, feeling something in myself changing. The first moment I noticed it, it scared me. But I found myself quite enjoying the feeling of being unstoppable, invincible, and indestructible even. It was like a ripple went through me, reinforcing my body, like everything tuned itself to a new level, concentrating solely on Damien, and hurting him. It felt like my senses had all increased an insurmountable amount, I could nearly taste his blood as I pictured myself lunging at his throat. As I balled my hands into fists, I felt like I could punch through steel. This feeling wasn't something I understood, as I couldn't comprehend where it had come from, but at the moment I honestly didn't care. As I continued to watch him, I felt like my eyes had changed. It's like they hyper-focused on his and somehow got stronger, as I could see everything. The dust particles in the air, the slightest movement of his eyes as he scanned mine.

"Bast!" Damien called out suddenly as his eyes went wide in shock, he took a few steps back and grabbed his phone off of the table before quickly dialing a number. "Come here, now!" He screamed at the receiver, his eyes never leaving me.

It wasn't until then that I realized my hearing had increased as well, as I could hear a heartbeat on the other side of that call. 'Who is Damien calling that has a heartbeat? Wait a second... How in the hell did I hear that heartbeat? What the fuck is happening to me?' I started to realize all the things that had just happened, as I'd managed to ignore most of it until now. I didn't surprise Damien into getting off of me, I'd overpowered him, or at the very least shoved him with enough force to push him back. My sudden inhuman hearing, my ability to see things that arguably, only a vampire could see. I was pulled out of my thoughts as I heard footsteps coming up to the front door, and turned to go to the front door. "Holy shit!" I cried out when I was at the front door, and couldn't stop myself fast enough, causing myself to go through the front door.

"Bast?" Sinclair asked as he caught me in midair, stopping me from falling against the steps. "What happ-" He started to ask, but stopped as his golden eyes met mine, and froze in a mixture of shock and horror. He whipped around to face Damien, a deep guttural snarl coming from his depths. "You turned her? While she was pregnant?"

"No!" Damien exclaimed, motioning to me as he opened his mouth to speak again, but nothing came out. He growled and closed his mouth, but his eyes remained trained on me like he was afraid to lose sight of me for even a moment. "We were talking, she got pissed off, and this happened."

I struggled to get free of the hold Sinclair had on me, my body coming alive as I caught hold of the most amazing scent I'd ever had the pleasure of smelling. Suddenly everything else dimmed in comparison as I locked onto Valerie, a demonic chuckle forcing its way through when I saw her. I could quite literally see her veins, and more so, I could hear the blood being pumped throughout her body. It's like she was moving in slow motion as I lunged towards her, the only thing on my mind was having that blood, tasting it on my tongue, piercing her beautiful porcelain throat with my fangs. 'Wait, fangs?' I thought, realizing that I now had fangs.

"Bast!" Valerie cried out, a small squeak of fear escaping as Sam stood in front of her, baring his fangs at me as he growled lowly. "Why are her eyes red, Sam?" She whispered under her breath as Sam slowly led her backward, as far away from me as possible.

"Bast, you need to get hold of yourself," Sinclair growled in my ear, his arms around me like an inescapable hug, refusing to give me even an inch of slack. My struggle didn't seem to phase him as he held me still like my strength was nothing in comparison to his, which made me realize he wasn't exaggerating when he said recreants were much stronger and faster than regular vampires.

"I... Can't..." I cried out as I fell to the ground, pulling Sinclair down with me. 'Come on, Bast. Get a hold of yourself! You were about to attack Valerie for god's sake.' the voice screamed to me. I screamed out as I squeezed my eyes closed, clasping my hands over my ears, trying to drown everything out. I could hear every creature in the nature surrounding us, down to the sound of the heartbeats of the squirrels as they ran up and down the trees. There was a part of me that wanted nothing more than to feed, as that's all I cared about. But the other part of me wanted to get hold of myself, as the thought of hurting Valerie burned me to my core.

"Listen to me. Focus only on my voice." Sinclair said softly in my ear, readjusting, so I was sitting on his lap, pulling me back so my head was resting on his shoulder. "Ignore the heartbeat, ignore her scent. Listen only to me."

I could hear Valerie struggling against Sam as he continued to drag her away from me, back towards the guest house, although I was doing everything I could to focus only on Sinclair's voice as he'd directed me to. It wasn't until Valerie's heartbeat was further enough way that I found the willpower to open my eyes again, and locked onto Damien who hadn't moved from where he stood at the door, watching me as Sinclair still refused to release me. His eyes were still red, but filled with unspoken pain and horror, his lips pursed tightly.

Damien didn't look all too happy about the way Sinclair held me, but he said nothing as his eyes slowly reverted to blue, looking to the side of the house where Sam had reappeared. The two of them shared a look of defeat but remained silent as they watched me, allowing Sinclair to take control of the situation, as he seemed to be the only one who knew what to do.

"I'm going to release you, little Bastet," Sinclair said, pulling my thoughts back to him as he finally released me ever so slightly. It was enough to make me feel like I wasn't being trapped anymore, but not enough for me to escape. "If you even so much as look in her direction, I'll trap you in the cage. Nod if you understand."

I nodded quickly and let him help me stand, leading me back into the house. He didn't fully release me until we were back in the library, with the three men surrounding me, ready to stop me if I tried anything they didn't like. I sat down on the couch, pulling my knees to my chest, closing my eyes as I focused on my breathing. It took what felt like forever, but I finally felt the feeling leaving, slowly but surely, until I'd returned to what I thought was my normal state.

"What, the fuck, happened to me?" I asked, opening my eyes to look at Damien who'd sat on the table directly in front of me, watching me intensely.

"You..." He started to say but trailed off as he didn't seem too sure of how to answer that. "You turned, Bast."

I felt my heart thumping loudly, making me realize I hadn't felt my heartbeat the entire time, until now. As the three men heard my heartbeat, it's like a huge weight had been taken off of their shoulders as they all visibly relaxed, sitting down on the couches, rather than the guard they were just standing. "How?"

"Hell if I know," Damien said, throwing his hands up in a sign of defeat, shaking his head.

"That child, without a doubt, will be one of the strongest beings on this earth." Sinclair said breathlessly as his eyes locked onto my stomach, nodding his head softly before looking up at Damien and I. "That child is growing nearly half as quickly as it should be, and this isn't much of a guess, as you've just proven it to be true... But she's already enough vampire for you to tap into."

"So you're suggesting Bast can use the vampiric abilities of our unborn child?" Damien asked him slowly like he was still trying to understand the words as he spoke them.

"Have you another way of explaining how Bastet was able to turn, without being physically turned, and able to revert to a human?" Sinclair asked, looking at the three of us, waiting for a moment, before speaking again. "It's the only thing that makes any sort of sense, despite the fact that none of this makes any sense. But in a situation that shouldn't be possible, why should we doubt the impossible?"

"Bet you regret killing Divinity now," I mumbled, not realizing I'd said that out loud until Damien whipped around to face me, his eyes wild.

"Really, Bast?" He asked me incredulously like he couldn't believe that was the response I thought necessary at the moment.

"Am I wrong?" I asked with a shrug. I regretted saying it, as I meant just to think it, but I meant what I said regardless.

"What have you created?" Sam suddenly said, pulling our attention to him. His eyes turned red as he locked onto me with a growl, shaking his head. "You need to kill that... Thing." He spat, looking down at my stomach.

Damien stood up and stepped in front of me, blocking Sam from looking at me, growling lowly. "That thing is my child. And I will allow no harm to come to it, nor my bride."

I could feel my anger boiling again as I thought about what Sam said. I stood and stepped in front of Damien, feeling that ripple go through me again, feeling me with what felt like bottomless power and anger. "Say it again, I dare you," I growled out, feeling my eyes focus, telling me that they were blood red matching Sam's.

Sam suddenly smiled at Sinclair and nodded. "So you're right. I hate when that happens." He said as his eyes returned to blue, and he sat back down.

I turned to look at Damien, who looked back at me, matching my surprise and confusion with his own.

"That was me, Bastet, Lucifer. I wanted to see if you could tap into it, or if you were subject to it during emotion changes." Sinclair said, motioning for us to sit back down.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I screamed, looking at Sam and Sinclair, feeling my heartbeat decreasing, threatening to stop again.

"How would we know if you could control it, without testing you?" Sam asked, looking at Damien who'd remained focused on him.

"How did the two of you do that, without conversing?" Damien finally asked, sitting back down next to me.

"Sinclair kept poking at my anger, then at my curiosity. It was pretty easy to see what he was telling me to do."

"You are both assholes, and if I could slap the fuck out of you, I would," I said with a growl, shaking my head at the men who'd been trying not to laugh, but failed at hiding their amusement.

"But kitten, you can," Damien said lowly, raising an eyebrow before laughing softly, then looking back at Sinclair.

"It's no fun if it doesn't hurt him. I know nothing I can do, vampiric abilities or not, that would hurt that recreant prick." I mumbled, crossing my arms across my chest, narrowing my eyes at Sinclair.

"So, this probably means your blood can't stop it now, right?" Valerie suddenly said from the doorway, bringing my attention to her.

"Valerie I... I'm so sorry." I struggled out as I ran to her, pulling her into a hug.

"It's not your fault, Bast. You couldn't control yourself." She said, returning my embrace before releasing me to look at the men who'd remained seated.

"I suppose you're right, Valerie. His blood may have worked before, but after what's happened, I doubt it could keep the child human. Though it may still help Bast from having her DNA altered, so I'd still suggest you do it." Sinclair said after a moment of thought.

I looked at Damien, waiting for his reaction, surprised when I saw him nod softly.

"He's right, the amount of power you're able to tap into, only weeks into your pregnancy likely means the child will be a hybrid nonetheless. But my blood should still overpower the venom before you can be fully affected."

"Is it safe to leave you two alone, or will you try to kill Damien again?" Sam joked as he stood and walked towards the door, wrapping his arm around Valerie's waist.

"Just go," I said with a roll of my eyes, turning my back to him as I went back to Damien's side. Once the three had left, and Damien turned his attention back to me, I put my hand on his mouth, silencing him before he could begin to speak. "Do you think I'll still be able to tap into it?" I asked him, then removed my hand so he could speak.

"I don't see why not." He responded slowly, his eyes furrowing in confusion as he watched me, waiting for my reason for asking.

"Let's test that theory out," I said, leading him upstairs and into the bedroom, turning to face him as we reached the door. I focused for a moment, tapping into the abilities, before looking up at him with a smile. "I'd always wondered what sex would be like, as a vampire."

This earned a small hesitant laugh from Damien, before he saw the color of my eyes, his eyes turning red as he watched me. "You demonic little girl." He mumbled softly as he picked me up and carried me into the bedroom, unable to contain his smile.

"Well, I am the Devil's bride. How long could I possibly go without getting a little demonic?"
