Chapter 93
Sabrina was slightly taken aback. "You want to bet with me?"
Charlotte nodded firmly. "That's right. We'll use the scores from the upcoming competition to decide who wins."
Sabrina's eyebrows twitched slightly, and she smiled innocently. "Since you want to bet, I'll go along with it. But what do you want to bet on? Money? Or something else?"
Charlotte looked at her quietly: "Don't you want that butterfly brooch from the last auction? If I lose, it's yours."
"But if you lose, you have to return the watch my mom gave Charles back to me."
That watch was a token of love Lynn had given Charles back then, and it was also her only watch design in her entire life.
Charlotte had always remembered that before Lynn took her last breath, she had repeatedly told her to get the watch back from Charles. Because he didn't deserve to have it!
But later, when Charlotte asked for it repeatedly, Charles refused to return it.
After Charles died, Charlotte learned that he had actually left the watch to Sabrina.
After hearing Charlotte state the stakes, Sabrina pretended to be surprised and widened her eyes. "Charlotte, you're joking, right? These stakes are way too high."
"Besides, I'm a designer. If we do this, people will say I'm bullying you."
Charlotte just looked at her quietly: "Just say whether you dare or not."
Calvin couldn't stand watching from the side. "Charlotte, Sabrina is looking out for you. Don't be so ungrateful!"
Alexander said sternly. "Calvin."
Calvin reluctantly shut up.
Only then did Alexander look at Charlotte and advise in a serious tone: "I know Sabrina's abilities very well. You can't compare. I suggest you stop being stubborn."
Charlotte was about to speak when suddenly the principal walked in with several people.
"What's going on here?"
The judges had been waiting outside for a while without receiving the lottery results. Worried something had gone wrong, they asked the principal to lead them in to check on the situation.
The teacher in charge of the lottery was about to explain when a voice suddenly rang out from among the judges.
"Miss Spencer, it really is you!"
Before the words finished, a pot-bellied, small-eyed middle-aged man had already walked quickly toward Sabrina.
Hearing someone call her, Sabrina was stunned at first.
But when she saw the man, her face quickly showed delight: "Mr. White? So nice to see you."
The man was Quentin White, one of the vice presidents of the River City Design Association.
Three years ago, he had represented the association on a visit to his alma mater, Aurora College. Sabrina, as one of the outstanding student representatives, had been responsible for receiving him.
At that time, Sabrina's sweetness and design talent had left a deep impression on him.
After they shook hands, Quentin inquired with concern like an elder: "Miss Spencer, didn't I tell you last time to contact me when you returned to the country? How did you forget about me?"
Sabrina quickly put on an apologetic look: "I'm so sorry. I actually came back to River City to recover my health, so I didn't want to bother you."
Quentin quickly waved his hand: "Your health comes first."
Sabrina immediately responded sweetly: "When I'm feeling better, I'll definitely find time to get together with you properly."
"Also, just call me Sabrina."
Quentin looked at her with approval: "Alright."
Seeing how familiar Quentin was with Sabrina and how much he appreciated her, a gleam flashed in Alexander's eyes.
Because of the company's business, he had good relationships with many people in the design association.
However, Quentin was slippery and good at reading situations, so he didn't really like dealing with him. That's why when he had previously introduced Sabrina to people in the design world, he hadn't invited Quentin.
But unexpectedly, he thought so highly of Sabrina.
In that case, it wouldn't hurt to interact with him more in the future, which would help secure resources for Sabrina in the association ahead of time.
On the other side, Charlotte was also quietly sizing up Quentin.
Charlotte had heard about Quentin from Keith.
Supposedly, Quentin had also been a student at Aurora College, but he was naturally snobbish and good at flattering the powerful while looking down on the weak, so Keith didn't get along with him and sometimes even clashed with him.
She hadn't expected that he already knew Sabrina.
At this moment, Quentin asked Sabrina another question: "Sabrina, did you come here this time because you were also invited to be a judge?"
Sabrina smiled modestly and pulled Owen over: "No, I'm accompanying Mr. Forbes's child, Owen, to participate in the competition."
Quentin's gaze instantly found Alexander, who had been standing silently in the crowd like a radar, and the next moment he was already walking up to him with a smile: "Mr. Forbes! Owen looks very outstanding, and with Sabrina's help, it looks like the championship of this competition definitely belongs to him."
As soon as Quentin said this, Cynthia beamed with joy.
The parents around also exchanged glances. As one of the judges, saying such things before the competition even started was inappropriate, even if it might be true.
They heard this Quentin was a vice president of the design association? He seemed a bit unworthy of the position.
At this time, one of the judges also realized the problem and quickly reminded Quentin: "Quentin, the competition hasn't started yet. It's too early to say anything."
But Quentin wasn't too happy and glanced at that person: "Sabrina, like me, is an outstanding graduate of Aurora College. Are you trying to question her abilities?"
When that person heard "Aurora College," they immediately fell silent.
The association's president, two vice presidents, and Lynn, known as the queen of the design world, had all graduated from Aurora College.
And this seemingly delicate young woman was also a student at Aurora College!
It seemed they couldn't underestimate her.
Who knew if she might be the next Lynn?
The other judge probably had the same mindset, and when looking at Sabrina, their gaze also carried a hint of curiosity and amazement.
The parents saw this and became even more respectful of Sabrina.
At this point, the principal stepped forward: "Teachers, the competition is about to start. Why don't we go sit at the judges' table?"
As soon as the principal left with the judges, people at the scene began complimenting Sabrina one after another. Even Cynthia was unusually pleasant toward Sabrina.
Although both were daughters of the Spencer Family, Sabrina with her outstanding credentials was obviously more popular than Charlotte.
In the crowd, Philip looked at Charlotte with concern: "Dad, do you think Charlotte will lose?"
Landon squinted slightly and looked quietly at that still-stubborn beautiful woman: "She will definitely win."
Philip cutely patted his chest: "Then I can relax."
On the other side, Calvin couldn't help but taunt Charlotte on the spot: "Charlotte, did you see that! Even the judges said Sabrina would definitely get first place. Are you still not giving up?"
Charlotte looked at him like he was an idiot: "Didn't you hear what the other judge said? It's still too early to tell."
Calvin, as if someone had stepped on a sore spot, hissed: "Charlotte, you really are stubborn."
In the crowd, Landon gave Calvin a cold glance.
Seeing him, Calvin's expression changed, and he eventually shut his mouth reluctantly.
Seeing Landon stand up for Charlotte again, Sabrina, who had been excited, suddenly felt a bit unhappy.
But the more unhappy she was, the sweeter she smiled.
So she smiled sweetly at Charlotte: "Charlotte, do you think our bet from earlier still needs to continue?"
