Chapter 22

“Author's point of view"

Allison frowned as she tried to get Ben's attention but to no avail instead he was mapping out plans on how to get back Leila.

“She decieved me" he muttered, Allison's frown only deepened.

" You'd had slept with her, if she hadn't made a move, right?" She asked and Ben stared at her.

Huffing, he rolled his eyes.

“Of course, I believed her and I do want her back, she's my card to wealth” he said.

Allison jumped to her feet aggreviated, she was tired of hearing about Leila.

Leila did this, Leila did that.

“Do you even love me, at all?" She asked Ben who just stared at her. She ran her fingers through her hair, exasperated.

“Ever since Leila got married, it's been about Leila. She's the goddamn thing you talk about” she said. Ben just raised a brow.

“How about me, huh? I don't get a place, right?" She began pacing his sitting room.

Well, she'd come to pay a visit to her boyfriend as usual only to see him looking like he was run over by a car. He'd always looked that way ever since Leila got married.

“Can you hear yourself speak, Allison" he asked.

" Leila had access into my house when I wasn't here, what did she come looking for?” He asked before shooting a look at the library.

Immediately, she left he'd gone to check if the key was still intact and a breath of relief crashed through him.

At least, she knew nothing.

“What do you have to hide?" Allison shot back before narrowing her eyes at him. She was still suspicious of him. The death of her aunt, she felt like Ben had something to do with it.

Ben shook his head before standing up.

“What do I have to hide? I don't want to have this conversation with you right now, okay?” He said turning around and walking into his room slamming the door behind him.

Allison. She was grating on his nerves. She was just a toy of his unlike Leila who he needed to attain wealth, he could get rid of her anytime.

That was one thing she was failing to understand. That he isn't who she thinks he is.

He wasn't what anyone think he is.

Sitting on his bed side, he stared at the lamp which he'd hidden the key. Staring at a close angle, he could see that the lamp looked fractured.

Did it fall? He grabbed it, inspectingly. He brought out the key to the room, staring at it.

Leila was smart, but there was no way she'd know about this key. Who would suspect a lamp? A mere lamp?

Maybe, it was just his eyes playing some kind of trick on him. Because he was damn sure, Leila didn't have her hands on the key.

He'd met her in the sitting room, but the question was… how long had she been in?

Allison paced the sitting room, she knew she had to do something. She could feel Ben slipping away from her while Leila was 'oh so happily married’ and she?

She was still begging to get Ben's full attention. She loves him, but isn't exactly sure if he loved her too or was just using her like he did Leila.

Confused, that was exactly how she felt. But, she wasn't going to give up on their love —on the love she had for Ben.

Not now, not ever.

She'd been so damn wrong thinking she'd have Ben all to herself once he was done with her cousin.

But no, she still had him wrapped around her little finger.

It had been hard at first, sharing Ben with Leila, knowing he had sex with her, but she was ready to put up with him.

Because of love. And now, that Leila was married, it was time to have Ben all to herself —by getting rid of Leila.

***

Leila's mother remained in bed with the blanket over her. She refused to eat, Leila had called and even came visiting with her husband but… she was still shaken.

Her sister was dead. And there was no clue whatsoever, of who killed her. The cops had taken the corpse to run an autopsy on it.

Matahye had been okay and even called her that she was going to come over as she had something to tell her about Ben.

Ben? What would it have been that she wanted to say to her, huh?

She sat up, curling her legs underneath her body. Did Ben maybe had a hand in her death?

She blinked, it was very likely. Whatever she had got to say, must have been important maybe that was why whoever it was eliminated her.

All she had to do right now, was wait for the result of the autopsy. She didn't believe, Matahye had fallen and killed herself.

Someone did.

“Your leg" Alex ordered holding the cotton wool. Leila shook her head, staring at his hand.

“That's gonna hurt" she mumbled and he sighed.

“Of course, that's what you gain for being disobedient" he said, his brows creased as he stared down at Leila, whose lips twitched lightly.

“Disobedient? Why does that sound like one of those kinky, BDSM shit?” She asked finally offering him her leg.

At least, she'd gotten some clothes on and was quite comfortable with him handling her leg.

He smiled.

“You'd like to try it someday?" Alex asked peering up at her, Leila flushed.

" God, no. Please”

“Thought as much" he mumbled under his breath before pressing the wool to her bruise.

She winced lightly as the bruise tinged.

“Does it hurt?" Alex asked searching her face, concern evident in his eyes.

She bit her lips.

“A little" she admitted and Alex nodded.

“I'd try to be gentler, even if I'm not" he said glancing at her leg and then back at her.

Leila flushed.

She was sure they weren't talking about her injury right now. Something else lurked beneath Alex's eyes.

She cleared her throat, looking away. Alex finished cleaning her bruise, after she winced occasionally.

He dropped her leg on the ground, his hand trailing up her calf.

“What are you doing?" She whispered and he withdrew standing up straight.

He offered her a hand, helping her up.

“Would you like a tour around the house?" He asked, she blinked confused but nodded anyway.

" Cool. Come let me show you around" Alex muttered leading the way, in quite a hurry to get out.

He needed to stay far away from his—wife.
