Chapter 747: The reward
In her room, after being alone, she thought of something that would cleanse her system every time he left her body. She couldn't risk other people's safety by having some kind of spy inside her.
Tayme stopped. That man could help her. The weapon killed the creatures, it could perfectly well make the trace of the creature disappear.
The door suddenly opened. The creature emerged again.
“I've already prepared everything. I want you to watch with me. That way, you won't be anxiously waiting for my decision.”
Tayme hated him.
“You said we're never alone, does that mean we had lots of eyes when you were...”
The creature laughed.
“No. I'm very selfish, Tayme. I don't share my things with anyone. My personal belongings shouldn't be touched by anyone.”
“Seeing isn't touching.”
“It's almost the same for them. When I can trust you, you'll know all these things.”
“I don't know if I want to know.”
“You agreed to come with me to find out, Tayme. I'm not an idiot. Now come downstairs. We'll watch it together.”
Tayme stared at him fearfully.
“You said that if you liked it, you wouldn't touch me for a week.”
“I keep my promises, Tayme.”
Tayme felt that he said that sentence to make her realize something, but she couldn't think.
“When you've finished watching, you may not have the strength to keep your promise.”
He smiled.
“You've brought something interesting, then. I approve, Tayme. You're a fast learner. That's fine. Do what you want.” He said and left.
Tayme simulated vomiting. His teeth weren't as sharp as the others of his kind, but they were still different. They resembled tiny shark teeth.
She paced back and forth in the room. If the creature approved of the videos, she could meet the man without worry. Her eyes would be back to normal in less than twenty-four hours and she could make up some excuse. She sat down, then lay down and went to sleep.
Tayme woke up feeling something cold being dragged across her arm and was startled to see the creature, its tongue split in two, touching her skin. She recoiled in disgust.
The creature sensed her reaction and put its tongue away, then put it back out of its mouth, normal, without the split, but much bigger than a human tongue and put it away again.
“I enjoyed seeing you sleeping so confidently, Tayme. That's how I want you to feel, as my wife.”
“I'm not going to marry you.” She said and moved away, crawling into bed. “What are you doing here?”
“Ah. I want to reward you, Tayme. I watched some videos.” He said, running his tongue over his lips as he stared at her lasciviously. “I don't think you've kept anything from me.”
“So you're going to leave me alone for a week?”
“Yes. But you were right. I wouldn't have had the strength to keep my promises if you'd been watching it with me. In fact, as soon as I finished the third and final movie, I came looking for you. Your sleep prevented me from doing what I intended.”
Tayme breathed a sigh of relief.
“Did you talk about a reward?”
“Yes. Ask me for something, and I'll give it to you.”
“Anything?”
“Anything that doesn't endanger my species.”
Tayme thought.
“I want you to be faster when you come back to me... Penetrate.”
“Faster.” He repeated thoughtfully.
“That you use less than an hour with me.”
“Are you sure that's what you want?”
“Yes. Definitely.”
“All right.” He said and stood up. “You'll find that, for the future, you have to be more specific in what you ask for. And you should think about it first. But right now, I've come to tell you that I'm going away for a week.”
“Where are you going?”
He smiled mischievously.
“I'm going to look after my farm. Soon, there'll be lots of werewolves grazing so I'll always have fresh food.” He said amusedly.
“Are you going now?”
“Yes, but first I want to leave you a task. Walk around, find a nice house. One that you feel you can make into a home.”
“Why?”
“You asked me what the joke was, remember? Actually, it wasn't a joke. It was a gift. You gave me a present.” He said, looking insinuatingly at her body. “And I like to give something back. I'm going to give you two houses. One of them, I want you to choose.”
“And the other?”
“We'll talk about that later.”
Tayme looked at him suspiciously.
“I was brought up in a house...”
“No, Tayme. All your life, you've lived in what belonged to your family, in houses chosen by them. I want you to choose one that suits you.”
“No stolen house is going to be to my taste. Did you kill all of humanity to plunder them? You're a fool if you believed for one second that you could buy me off with a dead man's house!” She said, spitting out the words.
He looked at her thoughtfully.
“So, I guess you can spend your week off any way you like.”
“No. I can't, “creature”, because my wish is to dance on top of your coffin.”
He smiled and left.
