Chapter 313: Strange New Feelings
Chapter 313: Strange New Feelings
Celia Bennett's POV:
Was this real? I mean, how could this possibly be real? Nothing about this made sense, and the possibility of how this could be real. How could one individual take something away from somebody else? Something that they were feeling. Something that only they could possibly feel.
Tears were swelling up in my eyes that moment as I continued to lie there. How was I going to describe this moment?! Even my nose started to burn. No matter what, I wanted to cry. I wanted to since the feeling of the pain that I had previously felt. The pain of loss. But it was gone.
"How does that feel?" Master Pierre asked me as he continued to rub his hands back and forth, sliding them across my back from side to side.
I was frustrated. To be honest, I was actually speechless.
"Seriously?" I asked in that moment as my face was still looking downward in the hole with the mattress pad. "You honestly expect me to answer how I feel?"
I didn't know what to say. For some reason, I was coming off as a bit aggressive. That was solely not my original intent.
"How is your back feeling so far?" Master Pierre asked me in that moment, still continuing to rub his hands back and forth, sliding them from side to side as he slowly started to move up my back.
"My back is the issue," I told him in that moment, still utterly upset and baffled by what had just happened. "How am I supposed to move past this?"
I figured asking a question like that would help drive my point home.
"Right now I just want you to relax," Master Pierre said, his tone a little firmer than before. "That is all I need you to do."
"Need..." I questioned him. "That is what you need me to do. That is not what I want to do."
"I am fully aware of your stance at this particular moment, Ma Lociole," Master Pierre responded in return.
He did it again. He called me that... That phrase. The one that I had longed to hear for so long. But it was almost, it almost sounded as if the way he said it this time didn't seem... It didn't seem the same to me.
What's wrong with me? I couldn't help but think to myself. It's like I couldn't even get my thoughts in order. Nothing seemed to come out right whenever I attempted to think it. Was that his doing too? Did Master Pierre have the ability to work my mind in such a manner that my thoughts didn't even... I couldn't even think something the way I wanted to think it.
"Ma Laciole, would you please stop thinking?" He asked me, causing me to inhale sharply.
It was at that moment that I attempted to set up by grabbing hold of the hand rests right underneath where my face went when he moved his hands to my upper shoulders and pushed me back down onto the mattress pad.
"And it's called a massage table," Master Pierre said in that moment, completely taking the words right out of my lungs once more.
"How do you do that?" I asked, relaxing the strength in my arms from formerly trying to sit myself upright.
I was waiting for Master Pierre to respond to me when I heard him inhale, thinking he was going to say something. But instead, he held his breath for a moment longer before I heard him finally release the breath he held onto.
"If you want an honest answer..." Master Pierre started to say that it seemed like he cut himself off.
"Yes, I would like an honest answer," I said as I attempted to roll my head to the side, which he prevented me from doing again. I grunted, groaning in an irritated sort of way whenever I continued to look at the floor beneath me. "Yes, if you would kindly give me an honest answer, I would appreciate it."
I knew my thoughts were irritated. Frustrated even. But that didn't mean that I actually felt the manner in which I knew my thoughts were telling me I felt. I could still think. Well, in a way I could still try to formulate a thought in my head, but in a way it's like something was somehow different.
"Ma Lociole," Master Pierre called out to me, causing my mind to stop thinking. "I am not entirely sure how to explain it."
"Can you attempt to try?" I asked him, still a bit frustrated with my words. "I... I don't understand how this could even be remotely possible. How can one person take somebody else's... Feelings, for example. It took everything that I was feeling away. If it was even you, and I don't even know how you did it."
Master Pierre stopped what he was doing and knelt down beside me. He ensured to keep one hand on me as he slid down my elbow whenever I lifted my head enough and turned it to the side to I could look at him. The look in his eye was different. It was unlike anything I had ever seen him look at me before.
He looked down, breaking eye contact with me. I couldn't help but pity him in that moment. I didn't know what he was going to say, but it was like I was feeling what he was feeling in that moment.
Remorse? I question myself. Is that the feeling? He felt remorseful for something.
"Are you sad?" I couldn't help but ask him.
When I said that, he immediately looked up at me, almost as if I took something out of his mind that I didn't even know was there. It wasn't until he narrowed his eyes at me that I knew I had thought something that he was apparently feeling worthless, quite possibly thinking.
"What?" I asked as I had brought my arm up underneath my head to help elevate it slightly so I could continue to look at him in that manner. "What did I say?"
"Can you...?" Master Pierre started to question as he reached up with his other hand and grabbed hold of my hand on the arm that I was lying on. "Can you feel my feelings? Can you... Feel what I am feeling in this moment?"
"I..." I stopped speaking that moment. I didn't exactly know what to say. "I don't know how to explain that."
"Just say it aloud," Master Pierre spoke firmly.
