Chapter 55
Once this thought popped into Alexander's head, everything suddenly made sense.
At the same time, it felt as disgusting as swallowing a fly.
Grandma actually found him a wife who had feelings for someone else?
And expected her to have his child?
Anger, humiliation, confusion, all kinds of emotions were screaming inside his chest.
Alexander's hand hanging at his side had already clenched into a fist without him realizing it.
After his expression changed several times, Alexander suddenly grabbed Lila's chin and forced her to face him. "I'm warning you, you're part of the Sinclair family now. You belong to me. If I find out you have any relationship with some random guy, I'll make sure you regret it."
Lila stared at him with stubborn eyes, saying nothing.
Alexander's anger flared instantly. "Cat got your tongue? Speak!"
Lila pressed her lips together and replied coolly, "I know who I am."
Alexander snorted coldly and left the lounge.
She watched the lounge door slowly close, then sat back down in the chair, but her eyes were still red.
She didn't know how many more of these random insults and punishments awaited her, or whether Alexander would get even worse. The road ahead was unclear, everything unknown.
Lila felt helpless.
As soon as Alexander left the lounge, he called Gaia.
She picked up quickly, and Gaia's lazy voice came through, "Isn't it lunchtime? Since when does my grandson care about me so much that he skips his meal to call me?"
Alexander's voice was calm and cold. "Grandma, I need to ask you something."
"Go ahead."
"When you made me marry Lila, didn't you look into her background?"
Gaia sounded confused. "Look into what?"
Alexander held back his displeasure. "Did you know she has feelings for someone?"
After he said this, Gaia was silent for two seconds, then laughed. "Is that so surprising? She's a girl in her twenties. Isn't it normal to have liked a guy or two?"
"Normal?" Alexander laughed.
He was so angry he laughed. "You think it's normal for me to marry a woman who's thinking about another man?"
Gaia scolded him, "Enough, don't make it sound so awful."
After scolding him, she reasoned with him, "So what if Lila has feelings for someone? Don't you? You're constantly thinking about Celeste, aren't you? What, now you have double standards?"
"Grandma!"
After calling out a bit sharply, Alexander pushed down his anger and asked again, "You knew she had feelings for someone and you still defend her? And want her to have my child?"
"Alex, what's the point of obsessing over this?"
After that question, Gaia said earnestly, "Either way, Lila is your wife now. You two are the legal, officially recognized married couple. You're hers and she's yours. Worst case scenario, you're so great. Don't you have the confidence to make Lila forget whoever she liked before and fall for you? Don't you have the ability to make an ordinary girl like Lila willingly have your child? Grandson, since when did you become so insecure? Did you discover after getting married that Lila is too good, so good that she makes you doubt yourself?"
He held back the competitive feeling her words stirred up. "Don't try to use reverse psychology to make me chase after her."
Gaia chuckled, "What reverse psychology? If you can make Lila forget about her past and fall for you instead, that's your skill. If you can't, it's fine. You'll divorce after a year anyway. It's written clearly in the agreement. What are you afraid of?"
