Chapter 231
Wesley nodded thoughtfully. "So considerate of your employees, no wonder the Sinclair Group has become a top global enterprise. Coming here today has really opened my eyes."
A faint smile crossed Alexander's thin lips, "You're modest, Mr. Morris. Washington Tech's achievements in the semiconductor industry are what countless entrepreneurs can only dream of."
After this round of mutual business flattery, both sides returned to discussing cooperation details.
Half an hour later, Wesley took a cooperation proposal from the assistant he'd brought along and handed it to Alexander, "Mr. Sinclair, I've really enjoyed our conversation today. This is a detailed cooperation proposal our company prepared before coming. You can look it over when you have time, and if you have any suggestions or ideas, feel free to contact me to discuss them."
Alexander took it while saying, "Mr. Morris is young and promising. I'm sure Washington Tech will continue to develop smoothly."
"I appreciate your kind words."
With that, standing up from the sofa he said, "Mr. Sinclair, your time is valuable. Since we've finished talking, I won't take up more of it. I'll take my leave now."
Alexander stood up, maintaining his formal social tone, "Take care, Mr. Morris."
Wesley nodded and turned toward the office door.
When he passed by the driver's lounge, his steps unconsciously stopped, and he turned his head to look at Lila sitting inside.
In the lounge with its half-covered blinds, she was reading a book with her head down, holding a pen in her hand, seemingly highlighting key points. When she occasionally turned a page, she would tilt her head slightly. The scene was peaceful and beautiful, and combined with her sweet face, it gave off an inexplicably comforting feeling.
In the three years since Wesley had taken over Washington Tech, he had never done anything out of line.
But at this moment, looking at this woman he'd only met twice, he felt for the first time an impulse to disregard the setting and just go up to her to get her contact information.
And he actually did it—his long legs striding directly toward the driver's lounge.
Inside the lounge, Lila was reading with her head down when a knock sounded at the door.
Thinking it was Alexander, she looked up, about to say "boss," but caught sight of a different face standing at the door.
Lila asked in confusion, "Mr. Morris?"
As Wesley walked toward her, he pulled a business card from his pants pocket and handed it to Lila, "Miss Grace, I'm the Executive President of Washington Tech. If you're interested in changing jobs, you can call this number to contact me."
She was stunned.
Was she being recruited?
But wasn't this Mr. Morris being way too bold?
This was at Alexander's company, and right in his office building at that.
He was poaching his people just like that?
Besides, she wasn't just a driver for the Sinclair Group—she was also Alexander's wife.
Lila looked at the business card in front of her and smiled, "Mr. Morris, I'm quite happy with my current job. I'm not planning to change for now."
Wesley didn't force her, only saying, "Alright, but keep the card. Whenever Miss Grace needs a job, no matter when, you can contact me anytime."
With things put that way, if Lila didn't accept the card, it would seem ungrateful.
She reached out and took it, nodding her thanks, "Thank you for thinking so highly of me."
Just as she finished speaking, an extremely cold and displeased voice came through, "Poaching my people right in front of me at my own company—is this the level of professionalism the Executive President of Washington Tech operates at?"
Lila immediately looked over.
Alexander's face was terrifyingly dark, and beneath his cold eyes, something seemed to be surging wildly.
