Chapter 181
The more Lila thought about it, the stranger it seemed.
However, considering Alexander's repeated proposals about having a child, plus what he said today about becoming the man she liked was for the sake of having a child.
It wasn't that hard to understand.
All of Alexander's compromises and concessions were for the sake of a child.
But to this day, Lila still hadn't figured out his real reason for wanting a child.
The next day.
Lila, acting as the driver, took Alexander to work at the Sinclair Group.
On the road, while waiting at a red light, she turned her head to glance at Alexander in the passenger seat. Seeing him sitting upright with a cold expression, she quietly looked away again.
But Alexander caught her "sneaking a peek."
His indifferent voice carried a hint of coldness, "If you have something to say, just say it."
"I wanted to ask, do I count as a qualified driver now? Didn't you say before that you'd teach me to drive for five days, and if I still couldn't do it, you'd make me..."
The words "get lost" were on the tip of her tongue, but Lila stopped herself in time and changed it to. "Let me go. Although you haven't taught me for the full five days yet, I can already safely drive you from Island Mansion to the Sinclair Group, so am I qualified now?"
Alexander nodded slightly.
She smiled and promised him, "Okay, boss. Got it. I'll definitely drive carefully."
He glanced at her from the corner of his eye. "The light's green. Didn't you see?"
"Okay, I'm going now." With that, Lila drove the car forward again.
After arriving at the company, Lila took the staff elevator upstairs as usual.
Alexander went straight up in the executive elevator.
Since Alexander had no plans to go out in the morning, Lila stayed in the break room reading.
However, around ten o'clock, Ms. Hill from the finance department came to see Alexander.
When Lila saw this Ms. Hill, she couldn't focus on her book anymore.
After all, Ms. Hill was an accomplished woman who had her eye on Alexander.
She was curious about how accomplished women pursued successful men they liked.
But Ms. Hill apparently didn't have any great tactics or strategies, because Lila could vaguely hear from the driver's break room that she was once again proposing to take Alexander to dinner. Lila didn't know how many times Ms. Hill had asked Alexander to dinner.
Outside the driver's break room, in the CEO's office.
Alexander took the documents Ms. Hill handed him and, as usual, looked down at them expressionlessly.
While he was reviewing the documents, Ms. Hill pressed her lips together slightly and asked cautiously, "Mr. Sinclair, do you have time after work today?"
Alexander didn't look up, saying flatly, "What's the matter?"
"I'd like to take you to dinner."
Dinner?
Alexander paused slightly.
If he remembered correctly, Lila had said yesterday that she was going to eat at a new restaurant in the shopping center with a friend today.
Alexander looked up at Ms. Hill. "Where?"
Ms. Hill was stunned. "What?"
She clearly hadn't expected Alexander to ask this question, because after being rejected so many times, when she asked, she had already prepared herself to be rejected again.
But he actually asked her where?
Was he going to say yes?
Seeing Ms. Hill freeze, Alexander frowned and reminded her, "Didn't Ms. Hill want to take me to dinner?"
"Yes."
Not only did Ms. Hill's face light up with a happy smile, but her words became somewhat jumbled with excitement, "Would Spanish food be okay? Let me think, there's a Spanish restaurant outside the company that tastes pretty good. If Mr. Sinclair is okay with it, we could try it?"
