Chapter 164
Alexander's face darkened as he glared at her fiercely. "The pocket is such a small space. You fumbled around forever and found nothing - didn't you know to stop?"
Lila muttered under her breath, "You're the one who said the keys were in your pocket."
"But you didn't find anything, did you?"
"I thought your pocket was really deep and my hands were too small, so I kept searching deeper."
Alexander's eyes turned ice cold. "Just shut your mouth."
Lila stared at his cold eyes and said nothing.
"The other side. Get the keys out."
"Okay."
She was about to reach in when Alexander warned in a chilling voice, "Don't go feeling around again. It's not like you're going to help me deal with it."
Lila's face flushed red with embarrassment.
She was just getting the keys.
But the way he said it made it sound like she'd touched something she shouldn't have.
This time went smoothly. As soon as Lila reached in, she found the keys. She pulled them out, unlocked the car, and opened the trunk.
Alexander put his things inside.
As he closed the trunk, he glanced at the homemade sausages Robert had given Lila and looked at her coolly. "A gift from the doctor - you remembered to bring it. Must be pretty precious to you?"
"This kind of sausage is really good."
"Is that so?"
Lila nodded earnestly. "When I have time, should I cook it for you?"
Alexander looked at her, thinking that eating food made from sausages another man had given his wife actually didn't seem so bad.
He smiled with satisfaction and said to her, "Then it's settled."
Lila couldn't understand why he was suddenly so happy.
He really was unpredictable.
She turned to head to the passenger side when Alexander suddenly grabbed her arm and pressed her against the car.
Before she could react, he held the back of her head and pressed his cool lips against hers.
Alexander leaned down and kissed her!
He'd suddenly kissed her!
Lila's scalp tingled from this unexpected intimate gesture. She frowned and instinctively pushed against him.
Alexander pressed hard against her lips before pulling away.
But after pulling back, he stood in front of her, looking at her with affectionate eyes, even reaching up to ruffle her hair, as if he'd become a different person.
Lila was completely confused. Just as she was about to ask what had gotten into him, she heard Robert's voice.
"Lila, are you leaving?"
She instantly snapped back to reality and didn't hesitate to brush away Alexander's hand from her head, looking toward Robert. "Yeah, where are you headed, Rob?"
"I'm going to the city council. I just happened to pass by and saw you and your husband."
"I see."
Lila felt extremely awkward.
Robert also seemed a bit uncomfortable and said with ambiguous meaning, "You two seem to have a pretty good relationship."
Lila smiled. "Well, you go ahead with your business, Rob. I'm about to leave."
"Alright, I wish you all the best."
"Thanks."
Robert rode off on his electric scooter.
The smile disappeared from Lila's face.
She turned to look at Alexander. "Why did you suddenly kiss me just now?"
Alexander scoffed, licked his lips, then said without changing expression, "You're my wife. I can kiss you when I want, touch you when I want. Do I need to explain myself to you?"
"You did it on purpose for Rob to see, didn't you?"
"So what if I did?"
Lila was a bit annoyed. "What's wrong with you? That was so awkward."
With that, she walked toward the passenger side.
Alexander snorted and got into the driver's seat.
As he fastened his seatbelt, he glanced at her from the corner of his eye. After thinking for a moment, he asked with clear displeasure, "Mrs. Sinclair, in your eyes, is kissing you something embarrassing for me?"
