Chapter 12
Alexander looked at Lila's helpless yet unable-to-refuse expression and inexplicably felt extremely pleased.
A wicked smile curved Alexander's lips as he snorted coldly, "The Sinclair family's money isn't easy to take."
With that, he strode toward the living room.
After a few steps, Alexander seemed to remember something. He stopped and turned back to look at her. "Or perhaps, compared to cooking, you'd prefer having babies?"
Having babies?
Lila was shocked.
Beyond the shock, anger rose in her heart—angry at herself for not being able to stand up to him, angry at her own lack of ability and competence, only able to submit to his tyranny after enduring his sarcasm.
Lila threw her bag forcefully onto the entryway cabinet.
The movement was so violent that it caused a vase on the cabinet to wobble back and forth.
Lila was completely unaware of this, but Alexander, standing not far from her, saw it. His eyes instantly darkened, and without a moment's hesitation, he rushed over and pulled the girl toward him.
Caught completely off guard, Lila's steps became chaotic, and she accidentally stepped on Alexander's foot.
As a result, both of them fell toward the ground.
The vase did fall from the entryway cabinet, but it landed on the soft carpet in the entryway and didn't break.
However, after Lila brought Alexander down with her, she ended up pinned beneath him, and Alexander's lips were now pressed precisely against her mouth.
Her first kiss was gone!
Lila stared with wide, round eyes at the magnified handsome face before her. She kicked her legs and, finding she could move, kicked him once. With her lips pressed down, her words came out muffled and unclear. "Get off me..."
Only then did Alexander belatedly pull his lips away from hers.
However, the softness beneath him still caused his body to react.
After getting up, his hand clenched into a fist at his side, his brow furrowed tightly as he backed Lila into the corner.
Lila looked at him innocently, while fear also grew in her heart.
Because just now, she seemed to have felt something.
Lila nervously pushed at him with her hands.
Unfortunately, she couldn't budge him. So she stared at Alexander with bright, wide eyes and asked, "What... what are you doing?"
Alexander grabbed her hand with great force and, instead of answering, asked back, "What am I doing? Aren't you Mrs. Sinclair? Whatever I want to do, are you really going to refuse?"
Lila never expected he would bring this up.
In her panic, remembering the marriage agreement they had made, Lila quickly reminded him, "Didn't you say you wouldn't touch me?"
"I also said no talking back."
Lila fell silent.
Lila thought to herself.
It's over, it's over, it's over. Alexander, who had always been aloof and looked down on her, was going to lose control just because he kissed her.
Originally, she thought that since they had gotten their marriage certificate, it wouldn't matter if something happened. But yesterday when he made that prenuptial agreement with her, she felt she could walk away clean after a year, and her heart had even felt a little secretly pleased.
However, at this very moment, things seemed to be reversing again.
Lila lowered her eyes, feeling very dejected.
This resistant expression fell into Alexander's eyes, making him furrow his brow.
Alexander took a step back, looked down at her from above, and snorted coldly, "If you think you can seduce me into sleeping with you, it's not that easy!"
Dropping this line, Alexander strode away.
Lila's little head was full of confusion.
When did she ever try to seduce him?
Did he have to make everything sound so nasty, always acting like the whole world was dying to have him? Where did that confidence come from?
