Chapter 216: Meeting the Rival in Love

Emily's eyes lit up with hope. She quickly wiped her nose and tears with her sleeve, fixed her hair, and jogged over.

Jessa, who was wearing handcuffs, had been lifeless, but she immediately looked up when she heard the commotion.

The moment she saw Emily, she couldn't hold back her tears any longer.

Her whole life had been dedicated to Emily, hoping she could live a happy and stable life.

But now, it seemed Emily's situation wasn't much better. She was wearing an old, dirty coat bought long ago, clearly having a tough time.

Jessa felt utterly helpless, filled with guilt and worries.

"My dear daughter, if only I hadn't gotten into trouble, I would have protected you and never let you end up like this!"

Emily hugged her tightly, sobbing uncontrollably.

"It's okay, Mom. I'm doing fine now. I'll work hard to get through these ten years, and when you get out, we'll find a quiet place where no one knows us and live peacefully, okay?"

What Jessa didn't know was that Emily was barely holding on herself, just finding an excuse to keep going.

But as a mother, Jessa couldn't accept seeing her daughter in such a miserable state.

The bailiffs and staff had walked away. Jessa bit her lip, tightly gripping Emily's hand, and lowered her voice.

"There's something I've never told you. I didn't want to play this card, thinking I'd just accept my fate."

"But I want you to have a good life, to get everything you deserve, not to carry the burden of my disgrace."

"A card? What do you mean? What do I deserve?" Emily asked in confusion.

Jessa spoke each word clearly, "Everything a wealthy heiress deserves! Your true background is far more noble than Elizabeth's. That woman, how dare she ruin you like this!"

Emily was stunned. Could it be that Tomas wasn't her real father?

But there wasn't time to explain everything now. Jessa leaned in and whispered a few words in her ear.

The court staff didn't notice anything unusual, but Emily was left reeling from the shocking news.

"Is this true?"

Jessa nodded, "Of course it's true. A lot of complicated things happened back then, and I can't explain it all now."

"You just need to find the person I mentioned. When he sees your face, he'll do everything he can to help you."

Emily couldn't believe that, at her lowest point, there was still a glimmer of hope!

The minute was up, and the bailiffs were urging them to part.

Jessa gave Emily a push, firmly telling her, "Don't worry about me. As long as you find him, we'll both be safe!"

'Can that person really be so powerful?' Emily's hope reignited. After watching Jessa being taken away, she quickly left the courthouse, repeating the person's name to herself.

Her next step was to head to Silvermist City.

Even though she was wearing old, shabby clothes now, soon they would be replaced by luxurious dresses.

Thinking of this, Emily couldn't help but smile confidently, feeling like the proud Miss Perez she once was.

She remembered every single person who had bullied her during this time.

Once she turned things around, the first person she'd deal with was that wretched Elizabeth!

Emily didn't want her to die too quickly. She wanted to destroy everyone who helped her and slowly torment her to death!

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was completely unaware of what was happening. She was busy planning her birthday party for the next day.

This birthday party was also a farewell, and she wanted to invite some friends she had gotten closer to recently.

Of course, this included Raymond, Alan, and Leandro.

So, the next day, when Matthew arrived in a formal suit, ready to showcase his charm, he opened the door to see a room full of men.

He froze in place.

Alan was the first to greet him, "Mr. Moore, long time no see."

Leandro and Raymond remained silent, knowing a bit about Matthew's antics in Silvermist City.

Neither of them wanted him to mess with Elizabeth and were surprised to see him there.

After the assistant brought in the gift, they sensibly left.

Elizabeth stood up from the pile of gifts and waved at him in good mood.

"Come over here, let me see what you brought."

Matthew, holding a gift box, smiled and walked past the other men.

Raymond was fuming.

The Moore family was known for its strict upbringing and high standards, so how did they end up with someone like Matthew?

But Matthew didn't care about them at all. His mind was full of Elizabeth as he handed her the gift box.

Alice helped her open it, revealing a black diamond card inside.

Alice was shocked, "How much money is on this card?"

Nola, hearing the commotion, turned around curiously.

Matthew smiled, "It's unlimited. However much money I have, you can spend. If you spend it all, I'll just make more for you."

"I thought about it, and there are many gifts in this world that can be bought. You can buy whatever you want, and if you can't find it, come to me. I'll find a way to get it for you."

In front of everyone, Matthew openly expressed his feelings.

Nola was very pleased. This gift was indeed thoughtful, and Matthew's promise was sincere.

Elizabeth, though not lacking money, couldn't help but smile as she held the card.

She raised an eyebrow at Matthew, "If you give me all your money, what will you do?"

Matthew shrugged. "I'll just rely on you, at your disposal."

Elizabeth laughed, accepting the gift without hesitation, and pointed to the empty seat next to Raymond.

"The food will be ready soon. Sit there, I'll be right over."

Matthew frowned, "Where will you sit?"

Elizabeth pointed to the seat next to Alan.

Matthew walked over and sat next to Alan, patting the empty seat beside him.

"You can sit next to me later."

Raymond clenched his fist, glaring at Matthew with a grim expression.
