Chapter 83 83
Nathan was lost in his own thoughts. He was thinking about how to respond to his son's question.
"Liam, son." Nathan began, leaning forward. "I can't say right now. I would love for that to happen but I need to work on it. I have to first of all get your mother to forgive my mistakes."
Nathan explained but he could still see the disappointment in his son's face.
"But no matter the outcome, I am your father and that means you are going to be seeing a lot of me. I am not going anywhere. I will always be there for you." Nathan promised.
Liam looked less sad but not satisfied with his father's response. "Did you say sorry to mommy? I always say sorry to mommy when I did something wrong and she smiles after that. Try and say sorry to her and that you will not make the mistake again. She will forgive you and smile at you too." He advised.
'How I wish it was that simple.' Nathan thought to himself. But he understands Liam. He has a young and innocent mind. So he decided to go with it. "I will do that, son. I will make use of your advice." Nathan said.
He then thought of it. He never really apologized to Brooke as he should have. He only did it very briefly when they met at Liam's school. So he needed to do that with more honesty.
"What about you, son? Do you forgive daddy?" Nathan asked.
With a frown, Liam said, "You didn't do me anything. I am not mad at you. But if you hurt mommy again, I will be mad."
With a shake of his head, Nathan spoke. "I would never hurt your mommy again. I have learnt my mistakes the hard way." He then put a hand on his chest. "I love you and your mommy so much."
Luca nodded but his eyes were watery.
"Come here, son." Nathan instructed.
Liam did as he was told and walked into his father's arms. "I will try and fix the mess I made. I promise." He said. "So don't be sad, ok?"
Liam sniffed and nodded in his father's arms.
"I love you so much." Nathan reminded him..
"I love you too, daddy. It feels so good to have a daddy." Liam said. His voice is now a little more relaxed.
That made Nathan feel a bit relaxed too. He hugged Liam tighter.
The time Liam spent with Nathan and Marise came to an end so quickly for them. It was Sunday afternoon and finally time for Liam to go back to Turner's residence.
They arrived at Turner's residence after they had lunch. Brooke met them at the driveway.
"Good Afternoon, Aunt Marise." Brooke greeted Nathan's mother, who stepped out of the car.
"Brooke dear, how are you? It's good to see you again." Marise responded.
Soon, Liam also stepped out and ran to give his mother a hug.
"Mommy..... Mommy... I missed you." He said.
"I missed you too sweetie. I hope you behaved well with your grandma." Brooke asked.
Liam nodded with a smile. "Yes and I have a great time with daddy too. I will tell you all about it."
"I can't wait." Brooke said.
Soon, the driver began to hand the maids some bags and a basket full of apples.
"Nathan bought some gifts for Liam and some for you as well." Marise reported, pointing at the bags the maids are taking into the house. "And they picked some apples for you yesterday." Sha added, pointing at the basket.
Brooke smiled at Marise. She then turned to Nathan, who also stepped out of that car and said, "You really didn't have to do that."
Before Nathan could respond, Liam began to tug on his mother's clothes. "Mommy, I feel tired. I want to sleep."
"Ok, sweetie. You go to bed and get some rest." Brooke said. She then directed one of their maids to help Liam to bed, while she attended to Marise and Nathan.
"Why don't you come in and have a coffee, Aunt Marise.". Brooke offered.
"Oh my dear, I would love to but I can't stay. I have to go to the hospital. Your uncle is so eager to see more videos and pictures of Liam." Marise turned the offer down nicely. "Although, Nathan could go in with you. He was planning to stay for a little while longer. He said he has something to talk to you about." She added.
Brooke turned to Nathan, giving him a questionable look.
"Oh, I just wanted to discuss Liam. About how to organize our co-parenting." Nathan explained.
Brooke turned to Marise. "Oh Aunty, I have good news. I ordered for uncle Robert to be discharged tomorrow. That way, he can get to spend time with Liam before leaving for Silverbrook." She reported.
"That is indeed good news." Marise said. "I will leave you two to it now." She added. They said their goodbyes and she got into the car. The driver drove out of the residence.
Brooke invited Nathan into the house. She directed him into the study, where they will have their chat. She then asked one of the maids to bring in some coffee for them at the study room .
The coffee was brought in and the maid left, closing the door behind her. Brooke sat opposite Nathan and she was the first to speak.
"We don't have to make this hard for any of us. I don't need your money, I am sure that is clear." She said, looking around. "But I won't stop you from giving your son whatever it is you want to. And concerning his custody, I am going to be honest with you. I am not ok with him going to Silverbrook." She laid her concerns to him.
Nathan only nodded his head. Because he had a different thing in mind that he wanted to talk to Brooke about. "Bee, can we please talk about something else?"
With a frown, Brooke asked, "like what? I thought we were here to talk about Liam? What then do you have to say-"
Before she could complete her statement, Nathan got up from where he was sitting. He walked to her and soon, he was kneeling in front of her.
